Alright... so I'm about to ding LvL 39. How's the toon coming for you Boomie? I have to say, I feel like it's an absolute beast (and I've obviously been underestimating Elec). Still struggle with the lack of dps, but he locks down mobs with ease and makes them, basically, useless with the end drain and soft control. I was looking at your builds for AV/GM soloing. Did you feel like you got more dps out of the the Arachnos pets before switching to Stone? I would think the obvious answer is yes, but I'm sure you can explain the benefits of changing EPPs.
-
Cool, got it and thanks. I didn't initially realize that Elec had a confusion power in the set. VERY helpful. I'll put those end drain improvement tips to work asap. I love that, lol. Gremlins at 32... can't come soon enough.
-
Well, I've gotten my toon to LvL 26 and he's still doing little dps but he's a machine for control. I'm wondering about how to up the End Drain capabilities and dps. At what level do we get the Gremlins? Is that LvL 28? 32?
-
Holy crap... I honestly wouldn't have figured Elec to be capable of that. Honestly, I think the secondary choice you made, and Epics too, made that possible. Truly impressive and believe I'll be taking notes, lol. I don't know if I can picture Time being as useful as Cold is here, but I bet it can be made to work, on "smaller game". Of course, I was wrong about Elec having that kind of promise, so who knows! Again thanks for the info Boomie. I felt like a rube for not seeing you link in the earlier posts too, lol
-
Big game you say? That sounds good to me... basically, everything thats been said about. Lots of control/mitigation and very little dmg. Kind of like Earth I hear. Are there some strategies to maximize what little dps is coming out of the toon? Or, how do you go about this "big game" hunting?
-
I'd like to bump this one. Does anyone have any kind of a finished product Elec Controller they can sahre a build on? I'm finding Elec to be fairly unique, at least compared to the other primaries I have any experience with ( Ill and Fire) and I'd love some advice on slotting and play style. Not trying to hyjack the post, just hoping for a little input for the later levels.
-
Damn... you're right. I saw that you had a couple Purple sets slotted on your build. I believe I will throw a Hecatomb in there... now that I have an excuse to, lol.
I wondered if you'd point out the low numbers on the E/NE. I was torn between what I wanted out of the toon, basically, and not wanting to have to change him completely. So, I'll just deal with those numbers. I'm already very pleased with finally knowing how to get soft capped in S/L.
I'm still working on getting my hands on a Glad 3%,but its proving irritating, lol. One step at a time, I suppose. I havent actually put the build to use, because I dont want to do so, start running Incarnate stuff, and be struggling with End. After I get my Cardiac going, then he'll get the overhaul (or second build... but the thought hurts my head, after all I've spent on the current build, lol.) -
-
I only recently got my Spines/Fire Scrapper to 50, which I farmed to finish the last 20 levels or so. He's a lot of fun. More so on teams though, to be honest. Burn sends mobs running if they survive it, because as mentioned, no taunt aura, but he farms quite well too. FA still seems a little squishie to me, so good recharge on that heal is important, almost as much so in Consume.
-
Ok, I know it's been a while, but I finally got around to taking some of your advice Des. I tried to stick to most of the sets I was already using, while taking some of your advice to get my defenses/recharge in better shape. I haven't actually started running this yet, as I'm a little worried about sustainability (end issues). It took me a long time on Mids to work that out, before I knew about Build Guides, lol. Anyway, please let me know what you think, and thanks.

Cool. I am officially educated. Looks like I'll be running tips everyday for a while, lol. Which is fine... I'll turn them down, run through, then go do something more fun. Thanks much for the help!
-
Where would I get one in Ouro? Is there a vendor of some kind there I'm unaware of? (Actually hoping so, lol)
-
Question.... where does one acquire this without dropping 2Bil on the market and waiting for who knows how long to get one? This is the first time I've tried to purchase this "mythical enhancement" and I'm finding out it's like Snipe hunting.....
-
Outstanding! I really appreciate the hook up. I've been bouncing back and forth about even keeping the toon, with so much nay-saying about these toons I've read. Decided to keep him, simply because I enojy playing him. Not everything we play has to be "epic" or an AV killer. Your builds are a big help. Much thanks!
-
Quote:Thanks Syntax. I've searched through quite a few of your posts, focusing on your advice to other Spines/FA toons. If you can post it, I'd truly appreciate the help. Many that Ive looked into seem to make some very large sacrifices to acheive certain things, like higher Def. numbers, recharge, AND regen. I'm just interested in a well rounded toon, basically.I have posted my Spines/Fire builds (post-I19) that are designed more for teaming than farming. I think they will be more in line of what you are looking for. They have 32.5% defense, making them pretty good for surviving on teams. If you can't find them with a search, I will try to dig them up.
-
Ahhh.... now that I've posted a silly request for all to see, I've done as I should have initially. Searched the forum. Found several builds to pick from.
Now wishing to delete a post that makes me look like a fool. lol -
Folks... Ive decided to try to finish my LvL 42 Fire/Spines toon. I'm not too skilled with Mids and the guide for this toon is older (I13) so I'm wondering if anyone has a more recent, solid build they wouldnt mind sharing..... A decent farmer; solid teaming toon is what I'd like. Thanks to anyone willing to share!
-
Very nice. Its nice to see this toon isnt going to last all that time and end up deleted. These are some decent builds, and exactly what I was hoping to see, and I'm sure the OP was too.
-
Very nice... I have renewed hope. Saving this build for my own uses! Thanks
-
-
Bumping this one... I have a Invul/Energy tanker thats about 5 years old. He's still not even to LvL 40 yet. I'd like to see someone with some experience on this build show me why I shouldn't reroll this toon. EM just seems frustrating with the long animations. Can the toon be a force as a tank or is it doomed to meatshield with the occasional landed shot?
Not trying to hijack the thread... just interested! -
Nice! You have some nice numbers there, minus that End issue (which you stated you deal with, lol). I will have to adopt some of your slotting etc and see what I can steal. I'll repost soon with what I work out. And thank you! (I do need to be more patient, lol)
-
Nothin? Awww, surely someone has a build with some inputs!! Anyone?
-
Alright, so I've returned to the game after a pretty long hiatus (deployment) and I need to respec SEVERAL toons, now that Stamina is inherent. Here's what I've ran on probably my favorite scrapper for a while. Before I respec him, I'm asking for a little help on the build. From what I've read, the combos aren't the way to go to max (or at least improve) DPS. He's always been a little end heavy, I'd like to improve that, and better numbers Def wise would be lovely. Any and all recommendations are appreciated! Hope I post the data chunk right. It's the first time I've done it....

If a person couldn't see the little icon, they wouldn't be able to tell scrappers from Tanks from Brutes 99% of the time. The other 1% someone has ice. Or if we see an Axe it's not a scrapper. A katana, it's not a Brute or Tank.
I don't want tanks to have Katana and I don't want scrappers to have ice. It's all cool with me whatever you guys want, but if we voted [ha] I'd vote to keep ice with Tanks, Kat with Scrap, but Geez, get fire blasting over to defenders.
Edited to add: And Brutes, they need a unique powerset. They have nothing unique.
