Spines/FA farmer?

I've seen it done and they can be good. Scrapper resist caps at 75% as opposed to 90% for brutes and tankers, so survivability is a little less. I believe the fastest farmer though is a SS/Fire/Mu brute with high recharge.

I just self farmed my spines/fire from mid 20s - 50 and it was pretty fast, just had to make sure I was soft defense capped with purples otherwise I would die pretty quick.

I do have fun with my spines/fire and I really like having 2 damage auras. If you can get good recharge he would probably come close to ss/fire farming times.

i got about 150% recharge with 35% defense, enought for small purples to stay softcapped. healing flames up every 11 seconds. Im not sure if it will be enough tho? I have to de slot my PvP toon to make him and its alot of work to find out ill fail. Just wanted to see if any thought or has seen it done?

I dont really know what to say

Spines/Fire is a popular choice, but it lacks taunting to keep the enemies from running away. Also, the lack of damage bonus makes it feel weak without a kinetics or lots of red inspirations. Those two big issues led me to make a SS/Fire Brute instead, but I play the game with it instead of farming.

Syntax beat me to it, but a taunt aura is a big factor when making a farming character. If you're like me it won't take long to be driven insane by the enemies constantly running away from you. That's not the say it flat out won't work. Spines/Fire can farm.

Now if Spines got ported as-is to Brutes I would wager it could give SS a very good run for it's money.

Between Impale and Throw Spines, my Spines/Inv has few problems with runners. Plus, Spines does DoT, so a lot of would-be runners die anyway. Endurance will be a bear, but Consume makes for happiness!

I suggest you play it, enjoy it, and don't worry if some other guy could possibly out-perform you by a tiny margin. Let the pointy, pokey, flaming marshmallow-nightmare run wild!

I only recently got my Spines/Fire Scrapper to 50, which I farmed to finish the last 20 levels or so. He's a lot of fun. More so on teams though, to be honest. Burn sends mobs running if they survive it, because as mentioned, no taunt aura, but he farms quite well too. FA still seems a little squishie to me, so good recharge on that heal is important, almost as much so in Consume.

Burn has been Fixed - No Fear in Burn, now.

The mobs may still run from your sheer awesomeness.

That's because of Invincibility.

So I've been told.... yet they still run.

They run because of either morale breaking (watching their friends die) or the code that makes AI run out of patch AoEs. Burn used to cause fear so they would run immediately. Now, they usually attack a couple more times.

Like others said, it's because you don't have a taunt aura. Enemies don't run from my SS/Fire Brute.

I have one at level 50. He does pretty well with those farms. I do use lots of reds as I get them. Over all the set does pretty good damage. It got even bettery after IOs.
