    Fire/Cold Build

I really shouldn't have but since I have both a Fire/ corr and a /Cold Troller, I spent a lot of time making a super ranged def build. It is one purple insp away from softcapped range, though it has less recharge bonuses than your first build, trust me this build gives you lots more to do and is so sweet I want to make one... It should be about as cheap as your last build.

    Fire/Cold Build

After looking at your build I don't really know what to tell you. It looks so cheap I don't know what advice to give you since I don't know how much inf you can spend. But, I would definitely change the slotting on stamina, like just 3 endmods, or even 2, since you have heatloss.

Actually, scratch that. If I were so I would go either for ranged def, or instead of trying for softcap S/L, go for 33%, that way you are only one small purple away from the softcap and you can get rid of some of your most ugly sloting: Snowstorm for example. Also, don't worry about end mods on Heatloss, its already super powerful, Rechage will help you so much more!

And in general, you are gimping your powers too much for the set bonuses... Your powers are way better than set bonuses... Fireball needs more recharge and acc for example, its one of your best powers since its an easy to use AoE and you only have 26% recharge on it.
  3. I love my fire/kin corr, here is my best tip.

Bind transfusion to Q and SB to E. That way you don't have to go searching with either hand while you are playing.
  4. You have more gusto than I do Tex. I have a plant/cold I was thinking of making stamina-less but, I was gonna make a malefactor build too with stamina. You seem to want your cake and eat it too. I'm interested in how your build turns out though!

idk, it seemed like fun. It has a good merits to time ratio and I've always been curious about gearing a lvl 50 toon for lower lvl teams. Plus, looking over everything it can be a decent lvl 50 build too, but I prefer doing the high lvl TF with villains when I can.

[edit]: I just found out that Flight of the Zypher has been nerfed (grrrr)!
  6. Okay, here is a revised build. I added another confusion purple to Seeds of Confusion, a KB FotZ in recall friend, another slot to stamina for the end proc, and a proc in Creepers (but not sure if I want on over a Damage IO). 2 unique in health and changed benumb to SS at lvl 49 for the extra ranged def. I think that is it...

I should note that I know I could add sets in Seismic Smash and Hurl Boulder (purple or decimation for hurl) I didn't add it cause it just seems a little to spendy. Also, it allows me to see what the set bonuses would be like at lvl 25.

  7. Hey DJ! Good luck respecing Vemon Kiss... Um, that is all.

Actually, I'm not sure you need the stealth proc at lvl 35, I think the 50 still works if you are malefactored down... However, getting a lvl 15 proc might be cheaper at the BM, even cheaper than a lvl 50, maybe put in a bid and see if you can get one cheap.
  8. Just for a different opinion, I have neither on my rad. Partly because of a tight build and partly cause Fallout can be a pain to use. Normally, if your teammates are dying its either cause of bad luck and the debuff won't be a game changer, or its starting to be a team wipe, in which it is nice, but I often find I have other stuff to do. Now, I didn't play with fallout for all that long, so I'm not an expert, also fallout is way better with the tp too. If you don't have friend TP, probably not worth it. EM pulse I liked better, manly because I can stack it with another nuke that drains end, like my toon's dreadful wail. But, when I respec'd out of my nuke, I never used EM pulse.

I've seen another toon the same as mine (sonic/rad) use both all the time and it worked really well, but I would recommend only getting EM Pulse if your primary has a nuke (aim is nice too).
  9. You might consider dropping down the S/L def to around 35% or so, that way if you need it you are just one purple away from the softcap. That is if you are unhappy with your current build.

Oh, and Hasten totally over CJ. The extra FS will totally be worth it.

Okay, added the data link. On my fire/kin corr, I found I perferred the third generic over the proc (outside of nuking, which I don't do all that often). It just seems that I needed to hit transfusion more often with the proc, but its really just intuition with no data behind it.

Yeah, the Buffs in Empathy are the best! Unless you run with the same team all the time or are a lowbie, it should be your responsibility to not get close to dying or need heals all that often.
  12. Thanks for the reply Tux! I forgot procs don't work like set bonuses... Yeah, a proc in health and creepers would be nice, not sure about stamina, unless I add another slot there, I shouldn't have that much end problems except after I cast ice shields on everyone. I'll add a kickback in friend tele too.

I'll have to run Sisters a few more times to see if I can get by with just super speed instead of invisibility, though I shouldn't need a stealth proc cause I think Arctic fog should be just as good.

Will I still get set bonuses on powers I don't have accesses to cause of the malefactoring if they aren't purples? If so, I might try to squeeze some more ranged def cause this troller is squishier than anything I've run with for a while.

  14. Wooo! My first thread, I wonder if anyone will show up? I would offer cake but everyone knows the cake is a lie (punches self in stomach for overused joke)!

Okay, this is a build to rule the Sister TF... Got Stealth TP, the ice shields to make any P.U.G. team turn from Jello into, um, frozen Jello that never dies, and all the other good stuff a troller brings. I'm not quite sure how the malefactoring works, so correct me if I am wrong. A toon gets its purple set bonuses, any set bonus that is low enough (lvl 28 for Sisters) and any enchantments bonuses sloted for the powers available (same bonus even if the enchantment is a higher lvl), though, not sure if the lvl the slot was taken matters...

So, this is what a got, any suggestions? (BTW, I get up to my lvl 30 power and Flight of the Zephry would be under lvl 28 for the ranged def bonus)

  18. My Fire/kin has 8 and solos the TV mish just fine(+1/x8), so 8 or less I guess. I never notice any Knockback or knockdowns at all.
  19. Okay, a little more info, somethings that should be white-ish are instead gray.... Cubical walls, filing cabinets, clouds in the sky, and most annoyingly instead of white mist I get something like a Fog of War from a RTS. This is my first experience of CoH on a PC instead of my mac... So I'm not sure of what to do. *grrr*
  20. Yah! More information about my problem :-(

  21. Is this the same as your problem? But I'm fully updated as far as Windows 7 is concerned.
  22. Goldracer

    AV soloer

Wait, so how many Rech-Rdx should be in Hasten, if you put 3 in, you are starting to hit the softcap, so just 3? Also, can Screech stun some AVs? I've had some luck with Ghost Widow's hold plus Power Boast, but haven't taken Screech on my Sonic/Rad yet. Kind of confused why you would take Charged Armor and then not put anything in the slot, I guess your just not using it much, or not at all with a Luck of the Gambler Global Recharge when you got the extra cash/merits? Overall, this has been a lot of help, now if I can only get Mids to work an a mac.
  23. Goldracer

    Rad/kin SO build

Hey, I'm not an expert but no one else is adding their two cents so here it goes. First, I'd get rid of Maneuvers. Maneuvers is a very poor power, and without giving it an IO set, its not worth it at all. Don't worry, you can still have Assault and Tactics which are great powers. You don't need Focused Accuracy really if you already have Tatics put like two Accuracy in most of your attack powers, if you are having endurance problems it might be best to swap that out. Most people only put one slot in health, but I'm not sure on that so again, your choice if you want to use the slots elsewhere. Final suggestion is add a few more slots to Siphon Speed, add like Accuracy and 3 recharge reductions, its a great power for your toon, and I like to use it as much as possible. I hope this helps.
