It was something like "non-human body-shapes", I think.

Quote:Like I said earlier, I think it's better to ignore almost everything we know about the Praetorians in the game right now - GR is going to totally redo the whole Praetorian concept, i think.I assume these Praetorian Clockwork are simply a replacement for Anti-Matter and Neuron's minions, not actual Clockwork. They would have to rewrite some of Tina Macintyre's missions, but using the Clockwork boss model for them never made much sense to me, and I like the makeover.

Quote:I thought we were talking about mission maps, not the actual zone buildings?Which would be unfortunate, since the CoH buildings look awful and are just there. Aside from doors to missions they offer nothing to reward someone for clicking around doors.
but the zone buildings are slowly being opened up anyway - first there were stores, then they've added WW, the Vanguard offices, and AE buildings - there are now way more usable buildings than before. -
Well, if stories are played and voted on, they'll probably move up past them.

Quote:But sleek and futuristic is like the mirror of ramshackle and clunky - so it fits the mirror universe themeThat's my problem with the new design too. This Praetorian Clockwork...isn't Clockwork. There's no visual resemblance to anything we've been shown over the past 5 years as Clockwork. It's just a robot/cyborg. It's Techwork.
Whether or not Antimatter's and Neuron's Clockwork actually count as Praetorian Clockwork or not, this thing just doesn't fit the bill. "Clockwork" implies something ramshackle made of gears and clunky bits, not sleek futuristic technology. It's like taking the Devoured models and relabeling them "Sexy Hos". It just doesn't work.
And I don't think there needs to be a visual link if there's a story link - like there's a Praetorian CK who started off with homemade robots, but progressed to these modern looking ones. -

Quote:I'm pretty sure there'll be some new maps - but as Praetoria is still just a version of Earth, it's quite possible they have similar offices and warehouses there tooIf they don't have some new map layouts i'm just going to be sad. So very sad. The Tyrant should have a palace, not a cave with a throneroom.

Quote:Maybe he is/was a robotics genius, and Tyrant wanted to use his knowledge to build a robot army to help enforce his rule, but the Praetorian CK refused to help, so the Praetorian Blue Steel was sent to capture him, and he was almost killed like the CK on our world, and Tyrant promised him a robotic body in exchange for his help in making a robot army. Here's my speculation: the Praetorian Clockwork King is either:
1: More in touch with his powers, and reshapes the metal that forms his constructs into a more humanoid looking form rather than leaving them as walking junkpiles.
2: A genuine engineering genius who has built an actual, working army of replicating robots rather than just telekinetically faking it. If he has psi powers at all, they are for controlling/building the Clockwork rather than animating them.
But once Tyrant had the tech, he broke his promise, and the Praetorian CK is now kept as just a brain in a jar in some vault of a Praetorian lab, in case they need to use his knowledge again.
For extra fun, the Praetorian Blue Steel could have been badly hurt in the fight with the CK, and was made into a Robocop style cyborg, and now runs the security force that patrols the Praetorian capital. -
So far, the background info has mentioned Mother Mayhem's Seers (something similar to the Fortunatas?), and Tyrant's Praetorian Guard (some sort of elite superpowered bodyguards?) - so I'm guessing those will replace the Maniacs and the street thugs, although the Maniacs might still feature in MMs asylum, assuming they keep that, and the street thugs would still be ok as followers of Marauder, I think.

Quote:YEAH I WANT THE PARTS! They would work on my broken down robot hero Rusty Parts! But the whole body wouldn't work I want the parts. And what with the blue color? How about shiny grey/silver or brass.
You might be able to unlock them by completing the Anti-Matter TF

Quote:It's sort of the Star Wars style - beat up and run down = heroes, clean and gleaming = evil EmpireThis. It appears that the devs have finally decided to stop presenting evil as equaling drab, dirty and depressing. Going Rogue appears to finally really explore morality and I for one cannot wait.

Quote:It depends on the reasons, I think - if they want the AE to be a story making tool, then it doens't seem so weird that they're trying to encourage farmers to go someplace else to farm.It seems weird to try to tell people where to farm, doesn't it?
If the devs were really anti-farming, then they'd have put a 40+ entry cap on PI ages ago - but not only have they kept it totally open, they've now opened up a level 35-50 co-op zone to level 1s too.
