Quote:Ham tastes nice - so HAM is a suitable name for themIf you're looking for an acronym, internally at Paragon, we call them HAMs and VAMs (Hero Alignment Merits / Villain Alignment Merits). I didn't refer to them earlier as "Alignment Merits" because I was trying to cut down on typing.

The only time I've made notes was for new players, so I could remember the different things I'd shown them.
-
But that's not a game-wide graphical update - and as a lot of the new players who buy GR will do so because they're attracted to the idea of superheroes and villains, it's quite possible that many of them will chose to make a Hero or a Villain rather than a Praetorian as their very first avatar - Atlas Park, Galaxy City and Mercy Island will be their first expereince of CoH, not Nova Praetoria

Quote:My guess would be that the fewer stuff people have up for sale or are bidding on, the smoother the marker merge will be.My question to a dev, if this has not been asked yet, is; Do I need to remove what items I have up on the auction house to prevent errors? I do not feel like losing stuff.
The day before the merge happens, I think it'd be good if as many people as possible cancelled any current bids, and collected all their bought items - we should all try and make the merge work as smoothly as we can. -
Quote:Well, David Nakayama has already made several threads asking for suggestions for improving the art aspects of CoH - so the devs are certainly aware of the contrast between Praetoria and the current game, and the need to make it les sof a contrast.Graphically speaking, the game needs more help. Screenshots of Praetoria look great, but the old world looks like what it is: a game made in 2004 with some shinier water, better shadows and one AE building per zone (and not even in all zones) that has reflective windows. Still looks serviceable, but it's not gonna win any beauty contests either.

The baseball team is called the Paragon City Privateers, accordig to the comics.

Quote:I think it might be something to with something in August.Don't suppose any Red Names feel like sharing with us what the (unprecedented?) 12 hour maintenance means for the server farm ... so we can feel good about it ... do they? I'd like to have an actual reason to NOT reach for the DOOOOOOOOOOM!!!(tm) button if there's one available.

I only have one avatar, and I'm not sure if anyone's made a note about me or not

I think we now know Mod12's main job - ruthless enforcer of the New Forum Order
-
That CoH Culture section rule does seem kinda strange - does that mean that only comic books and comic books movies will be allowed to be discussed there?
EDIT: I see sci-fi and fantasy stuff is still ok. -
Those changes all seem pretty sensible to help streamline things ready for August 17th.

In the comics, Apex mentions the Paragon City Privateers baseball team.

Quote:Some of the new Incarnate zone events will take place in Praetoria, according to the devs at SDCC.Going Rogue will have some nice lowbie stuff, nice background on Praetoria and will have nice QOL stuff for various aspects.
Now...the key part is, does the Dev team build on Praetoria with post 20 content or does it become Faultline 2.0, a nice zone to do missions in and get some content and Merits, but quickly discarded after awhile. Since they intend Praetoria to be a staging ground for the new epic content through zone events...well, let's wait and see.
War Witch also said they want to expand on Praetoria, but nothing's been decided yet.
That might have something to do with GR not being a stand-alone like CoV wasQuote:As far as standalones go, it's not City of Villains by a long shot, which gave us five new archetypes, level 1-40 content then more content with the launch of Grandville, but it's decent enough.

Quote:Well, you do get 50% free in a 2-for-1 deal if the price is the same as a single item - but it's only useful if you actually need the free itemI just don't want anyone falling for evil marketing schemes =O
My grandmother will routinely buy things like the slap-chop for 30 dollars because "it came with another slap-chop which was FREE."
