I'm a casual PvPer, and the most fun I've had in PvP was Siren's Call and Recluse's Victory pre-I13.
If you only ever do one thing more with PvP - if you decide to only ever make one more change to it, and then abandon it forever - please make that one single thing you do the removal of Diminishing Returns.
Because unbalanced PvP is still better than dead PvP.
I totally get the thinking behind DR and why it was done - but it simply hasn't work, and has reduced the amount of PvP rather than increased it.
It was a well-intentioned mistake, and rolling back DR would be the quickest and most time-saving and cost-effective way of giving PvP a much-needed boost. -
Ooh, more info and sneak peeks - plus ther might be a new picture to study on the Facebook site - even if it won't be a real pony

Something weird seems to have happened with the Launcher - it's not showing that I have a Euro version of the game installed as well as my American one - even when I change the regional setting, it still just shows CoH (US), COH Test (US) and CoH Beta (US) as the only 3 playable options.

Objective Feedback: The download went vert fast, and I had no problems with the install, or with updating the Test and Beta servers.
Subjective FeedbackThe launcher looks rather nice - it even has a color scheme that's shades of gray
I like the way there's more info and links with it too.
One thing I'm not sure about is if this is going to totally replace the current updater or not? Because I was still getting the updater appearing after I started the game via the new launcher. -
It's the same this week - it's Sister Psyche, and whatever the red side one is

I thought this was going to be about angry GMs.

Quote:The Hamidon was once a normal man - a scientist called Hamidon Pasalima who used magic and science to transform himself into the Hamidon craeture, and created the DE - and is possibly linked to the Well of the Furies, according to dev hints. The Origin of Hamidon. I have no idea where he/she/it came from, nor the Devouring Earth.

Quote:A Shadow Shard revamp might have some kind of "teleport web" run by the humans, or weird dimensional portals that were a feature of the Shadow Shard itself to move you from one island to the next. Not unless they add something faster for travel than the jet packs.
Those zones are freaking HUGE to just sprinkle mission doors willy nilly like they do in the regular zones.
I think a shard storyline revamp would have to go hand in hand with a zone one.
Be prepared to skip text thenQuote:Only with the "better writers" caveat. Because I swear, if Rularuu's origin is tied to the Well of the Furies I'm never reading another scrap of mission text outside AE ever again.
Of all the things in the game that could be linked to the Well of the Furies, Rularuu must be at the top of the list. -
Quote:You could try something like this:Is it true that there is no "Bear" head?? Please tell me it's false!!!
I was looking forward to this pack because I love Bear-theme. I love making Bear type of toons.

Quote:Yeah, that's the hardest part of being on a speed LGTF for me - which is silly, I know, as they're only computer-controlled people - but not rescuing prisoners seems so unheroicI hate speedrun LGTFs. It isn't the speed-running per se (speed run ITFs are one of my favourite things in the game,) it's that letting the hostages die makes me sad. Especially when they've just given their little speeches about how happy they are to escape the Rikti and get home, and then they get led into an ambush and abandoned...sadness.

Well, as they do fade out when they're defeated, I think we can assume that they were TP'ed to the hospital at the Vanguard baseQuote:I understand your point about the Speed LGTF and letting the hostages die, however in game lore suggests that our characters are equipped with various teleportation tags. So why can't you slap a medical transporter on Infernia and Glacia before things get crazy?
As a matter of fact it's entirely your own fault that they die, since you never had the foresight to give them a medical transporter tag in case things get bad.
Shame on you.

Quote:Although, all the WSTs until today have been high level Shard-dropping TFs - but the STF, Kahn and LGTF have all been sped anyway.Once issue 20 comes in and you can earn Incarnate Shards at any level, once you've unlocked the Alpha slot, then you'll probably see a lot more slower Taskforces being run, unfortunately until that happens you're going to see speed TFs for the lower level stuff.
-
The only time I do speed TFs is for the WSTs, for badge and time reasons - any other TF is done normally, or even as a defeat-all.
For the fast WSTs, I also check first if anyone on the team hasn't done the TF before - and if there is, then I change it to a slower run so they can experience the TF normally.
