Or maybe quite a few players actually like the Trials?
  2. I think some of the mission maps in First Ward will use tilted and flooded office maps.

Not only does she deserve better, but so do all the women who play this game. Have you forgotten how many of us there are?

How about giving her, and by extension all the women who play this game, some dignity? How about not making her look like an empty-headed sex object?

What ever happened to all the squawking about "Having female pets for Masterminds would be sexist!"? Did you forget that argument? How about all us women who WANT female minions, and DO NOT want to be depicted as vapid second-rate heroes who are barely more than sidekicks?
I think they'll take on board the feedback about the less-than-perfect portrayal of Sister Psyche - there's still a while to go before I21 goes live, and it wouldn't take too much tweaking to give her a more shocked-but-determined expression, rather than the current hand-wringingly helpless one.

No - the Precinct 5 Praetorian tutorial will still be there.

Yes - CoH: Freedom means a lot more freedom is a lot of ways
  8. From the UStream chat today, the Avatar of the Hamidon in the Underground Trial is "kind of a big walking beast" - which sounds like it'll be a way more mobile fight than the current Hamidon raid.

All is NOT well and I would like some hard numbers on how many players get to tier 4 on ANY characters. I will bet a lot of players never bother getting Alpha and after one or 2 trials never go back.

The forums are a small sliver of the player base and don't confuse signal to noise ratio of the apologists as fact. I would like numbers.
If you want numbers, there's a 4th Trial coming in I21, and a lot more being added afetr that

The devs datamine a lot - that's one of their main lines of feedback - and the results of that datamining are more Trials.

The very fact they had to wait for feedback for a solo path to be looked at astounds me.
Any solo path will always be quite a bit slower than the main Trial path - the Incarnate system is designed around Trials, so that's the important part to get right first - a solo option is more of an add-on.

Yeah, that bit's great - he really feels like a crazed supervillain throwing everything at us.

    Not gonna happen

Some people still seem to be a ittle confused about the Trials and the Incarnate system - there's no end to them - there's no point at which it canbe said that they're "done" or "fnished".
Psitron hs said that players will "always be chasing the next big thing" - the Trials will "end" when the TFs "end", or the story arcs "end" - it's open ended content, and the Trails are the main feature of the endgame system, which is also endless.

I think it'll still be available via Ouroboros - but in I21, there'll be no such thing as starting as a Hero or a Villain - the enw tutorial will allow you to make an avatar using any of the 12 ATs, and then enter the chaos of Galaxy City as a "neutral" - you'll then be able to help either BAB and Sister Psyche, or join with Recluse and his Arachnos troops who have arrived to take advantage of the mayhem.
Instead of simply clicking an icon when you make a new avatar, it seems that the new Tutorial will be about talking with and interacting with some of the signature characters to let you decide which side to take - it's a way more dynamic and lore-focused way of introducing players to the Hero/Villain battle that's at the heart of the game.

Thoughtfulness like that teaches new players what they need to know. I see no reason this new tutorial will be any different.
The new tutroial will be shorter and more dynamic than the Praetorian tutorial - there will be a further series of training missions form 5-19 to add more info for new players, rather than trying to squeeze it all into a 10 minute tutorial.

No - the new Galaxy City tutorial will replace ther current blue side Outbreak tutorial and red side Breakout tutorial.

Does this mean that the devs are shelving the praetoria tutorial?
No - the Praetorian tutorial willr emain - what it does mean though is that they might tweak the avatar creation screen to be a choice between making a Praetorian or a Primal, rather than the current Hero, Villain and Paretorian choice.

If the praetoria tutorial no longer exists after City of Heroes Freedom, then does that mean that no one will be able to enter praetoria at all?
The 1-20 Praetorian content is remaining unchanged in I21 - and a new 20-25 Praetorian and Primal co-op zone is being added to expand it.

Does this mean that no one will be able to be a loyalist or chose resistance and play through the entire praetoria story arc?
The 1-20 GR content will not change in I21 - the loyalist and Resistance choices will remain the same - alhtough it's not been said yet if there will be loyalist and Resistance choices available in the new 20-25 co-op zone.

Does this mean that the only thing that Going Rogue was for is just to improve the graphics for the main game?
No - Praetoria is an important part of the CoH universe, and is the setting for the first stages of the Incarnate system.

Does this mean that the only thing that Going Rogue was for is to make the incarnate system possible?
No - Praetoria gives players an alternative low level experience in a distinctive world which is an important part of the meta-story of the fight against Tyrant and the loyalists to save the multiverse.

    Quote:
Or will there be a choice of tutorials if you have Going Rogue active on your account, where a pop up would say Primal (Galaxy City) or Praetorian?
Issue 21 will reduce the current 3 tutorials to 2 - Praetorian and Primal.

It's lots of fun - Anti-matter feels like a major supervillain pulling out all the stops to try and defeat us.

It makes me wonder what tricks Tyrant and the Hamidon will have available to them when we confront them
