I love me some Lovecraft. Nicely done. I only wish some of those elements could be pulled off in game - the violin, some of the costume bits in the drawing, etc.
The art is beautiful, nicely done! -
Thanks, on both compliments! I love the egyptian outfit for Reincarnate I did too. One of my more prized accomplishments.
Hecate's colors are black and silver traditionally, according to some sources anyway, so I try to stick to mythology and added the purples in there for the Psi magic she has (dark/psi defender). Plus with the metalic sheen on the pieces, it reflects back nicely making it less dark.
Well since we're parked on the same server, join up with me and a good crew of Katie TF vets. Righting the wrongs in Croatoa a few times can get you to 35 in no time and I'd love to have you along.
Hit me up on my global @Goblin Queen. I'm probably doing a run or two tomorrow (Wednesday) night on Hecate and Storm Dragon around 8 or 9 PM EST.
No one should be without Vanguard pieces if it helps your next costume slot! -
Well I hate your original one.
I kid. You beat me the other day in a costume contest against my Reincarnate! hehe I do really like that Crown costume and have always admired it from the forums and in game.
I'm too tired to fire some costume creation up but once you get to level 35 if you're not there already (I remember you being 30something) I suggest a mixture of Vanguard and Enforcer for a more high tech or even more generalize metalic pieces that can cover the armor catagory.
Come to think of it my main hero Hecate has one outfit that does just that (granted she uses more Vanguard now than Enforcer) with some Justice pieces thrown in. She's kind of a dark version of Crown perhaps, with more skin! Before Vanguard pieces I had the Enforcer Chest/Belt instead of Vanguard but the rest was the same (minus the new Excess plus from the wedding pack).
Maybe these, when using your imagination on a male character with gold and red hues, can get your creative juices flowing.

Sorry my only male character that high enough in level doesn't have the pieces yet because he's mainly.. a dragon. But hopefully it gets some ideas across. In particular I'm in love with the belt and the chest piece from Vanguard though I love the belt from the Enforcer set and find the Enforcer chest piece versatile and nice looking as well.
The gloves, shoulders, belts and helms are all a bit harder for me to implement in any sort of battle armor/arcane sort of way like I did for Hecate's magic armor costume. -

so how is the new top hat different than the old one?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not. The top hats have always been there. Well.. since CoV.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I notice no difference and I've always had access to the normal and large size top hat for male, female and huge toons. -

*The separate-color lace pattern on the skirts is beautiful. It is a crying shame there is no top that can be matched with them. I understand that there's a UI limitation on tops w/skin and a 2nd color. But if we can't get around that, can we at least beg a regular top with the same lace pattern, one that is two-colorable, for making that as a dress?
[/ QUOTE ]
This I agree with. I really was looking forward to having the top match the bottom in terms of having two toned pieces. If this could happen I'll be oh so happy! It just doesn't mesh that well (in MOST cases, I'm sure some color combos do) with having a solid top part of the dress(es) and the ability to two tone the bottom part. -

You all actually paid $10 bucks for twp outfits? Wow.
[/ QUOTE ]
6 outfits actually
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, I gladly paid for it. My full thoughts are on the actual discussion thread regarding it where the Devs are actually reading feedback. Sure, girls got the most and I have a lot of girl characters. The male outfits are nice too though I of course wouldn't mind more for them. I'd also love it if they had included costume tokens with this purchace - it'd have made the cost more worth it for others I'm sure.
As it is though, several of my gals are going to get a LOT of use out of most of the costume patterns. A couple of my male characters will find use of the tuxes. I can't wait to try them out. -
[ QUOTE ]
Maybe it should also come with a couple free costume tokens???
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree it'd be great to have an extra costume token for each costume slot on all of your characters for buying the pack. It'd be a nice extra incentive to buy it.
That being said - I bought it and I did it with a quickness. I'd buy ANY extra content or boxed set put out for CoX and I hope many more come along, so long as the free Issues are coming down the pipe with more free costume content.
These costume pieces are top notch and I'll find many uses for them. I'd also pay for other Holiday related packets, ESPECIALLY for Halloween (a full pumpkin head option like the Firbolg with their glowing eyes? And better yet an extra eye glow option, the kind Firbolg and CoT use, to add to other costume face pieces - YES PLEASE). Anything I can do to help fund the CoX machine I'm willing to do, within reason of course. Most games have extra incentives you have to pay for if you want them and most are priced steeper than anything CoX has put out. Would I be tickled pink with Halloween extras like pumpkin heads, shoulder pieces and belts for FREE? Hells yeah. I'd also pay for it though because I want that stuff no matter how I get it.
I'm a "fanboy" sure. I have problems with the game and inequalities between the Hero and Villain side, sure. In the end though I want CoX to keep on going and keep on pumping out content - both free and paid (extra) for. If contributing here and there with some extra cash helps then I'll shell out the bucks.
For those who don't want to shell out the money, I understand, I really do. There are games I'd never do that for. This isn't one of them though.
I for one welcome our costume/content overlords. -

Bluto, what are the costume parts you used, I can't quite make out the chest and hip area. I recognize the chest symbol, but not the overall torso... could you elaborate please? And what type scrapper are you?

That's part of the Samurai Vet Reward set. Shoulders, chest, legs and gloves it looks like. -
I have a couple characters that have multiple aspects rolled into one. It allows me to get several alts rolled up into one.
My main one that I've gotten farthest with is:
Mister Halloween
His primary persona is the first one to the left. He uses his mask making skills and occult knowledge to imbue his masks with the abilities and quirks of the creatures that they're based off of. I was able to get certain powers limited to costumes such as super jump with Frankenstein's Monster and the Werewolf. Superspeed and Fear powers with Dracula. Flight and stealth powers with the Ghost, etc. I also only play him during the month of October usually where he racks up the Halloween salvage. The screenshot is old, he has various auras now for most of the costumes.
One of my most recents is a lowbie that only has two costumes so far but his name is the Reincarnate and his concept is an Ouroboros agent that during the first time he used time travel he became aware of all of his past and future lives. His ability is that he can access these lives through the Ouroboros. It's a combination of metaphysics meets Quantum Physics. So far I'm using and planning on characters that come from cultures that have a belief in reincarnation of some sort. So I have an Egyptian character and a Viking and plan to have a Samurai and possibly Greek character. The main one will be a futuristic warrior, the one who first discovered and can call upon his many incarnations.
They have their own names, personality quirks and way of speaking.
Viking Incarnation
Egyptian Incarnation
My other one is Hecate, she has various costumes and personalities based on her many aspects as a goddess.
In all cases with Mister Halloween, the Reincarnate and Hecate I use different badges and costumes to help provide more flavor to them.
I really does help with my extreme altitis. -
I suggest getting the Santa Gloves and Boots from the Holiday Event, either by collecting candy cane salvage or just running the Father Time mission twice. Just in case. They could be useful in Norse costumes so if you end up wanting to use them you won't be able to get them again until next year. Today is the last day of the event.

The Eye Glow Aura, on the lowest setting, still glows through the other your head. Could we get the lowest setting to only glow around the eyes?
Eye Glow Aura -
The Insect Cape seems to have an outline where the portion of the cape was cut out to make it translucent. Whenever you use Hover, Flight, Combat Jumping, etc. you can see the outline of where the cape *would* be if it wasn't cut out. The CoV capes that have various non standard cape shapes don't have this issue. This old cape from CoH is the only one I know of that does this.

Thanks! Jay is sexy! -

I'm not sure where the 'Tanker' style comes from, sorry.
[/ QUOTE ]
Everyone should have access to it. I *think* it came out in i10, maybe i9. I think it was only available to females at first and then they gave it to male and huge models. -
[ QUOTE ]
not the trenchcoat the shirt. I have a few characters with the sleeveless trenchcoat including my main Gideon. I asked about the shirt because I been wanting them to add a sleeveless top besides wife beaters.

I believe it's the Tanker pattern on a Bare Chest. -
I've been wanting to do an egyptian themed character again for a while now. Dual khopeshes gave me a good reason to.

I'm happy with the look and have other costumes planned. Now I just need to finalize a name, AT, secondary and side.
Waffling between DB/DA or DB/WP Brute and Scrapper. -
Simply amazing. The weapon customization was enough to make me giggle outloud at work. The flashback system, new missions/arcs (that sound really cool) and powersets are all just icing on the cake now. Best. Issue. Ever.

OK, I'm kinda dense today, but please bear with me. Say you have an active account, you play at least once a week, but you've got characters spread out over all the servers. Now say one of your characters has not been played for more than 90 days. Since your overall account is active, you don't need to worry about that unplayed character losing it's name? Or do you?
[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
No, you don't need to log in to the character every 90 days as long as the whole account is active.
Only if your entire account is inactive for 90 days will characters below level 6 be switched to unreserved. The character's name will not actually change unless someone else takes the name.
All I can say is, it's about time they re-instituted this. Names are getting really scarce.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can we get red name confirmation on this? My accounts are always active but not all of my characters are, yes even below level 6 on various servers.
Thanks. -

The bug wings do not fit properly on characters using the Huge build. The wings go into the back to attach to the model where models using the standard regular female/male build the wings attach to the shoulder normally. this is frustrating that I burned 10 million for bug wings for my Insect character and the wings do not look right. This issue can also be seen with the temp jet packs from the safeguard missions on huge model characters- the jet pack is actually protruding from their back looking like it is actually growing out from underneath the skin........it's very stupid looking- please fix both of these issues.
but fix the dang bug wings first......
[/ QUOTE ]
The opposite is true for the burned wings I just spent too much inf on. They don't meet all the way flushed into the back of the female model. They float a bit at the bottom of the wings.
The color is also off. The secondary color (the stretchy wing material, not the frame) bleeds into whatever primary color you chose. So a yellow and black combination results in an off black color for the wing frame.
I'd love to see these addressed oh sexy one! -

Howdie Jay,
A couple of issues I have. If you look at this picture, you see the odd neck alignment that is prevalent in the entire "Full Helmet" set. You can only see it when your running or in a combat stance, but it is really distracting. Also in the "Tech Sleek" set, also in the picture, it would be nice if the mesh could be set a different color than the plate. The neck issue has been around for quite some time (Beta I think) I was hoping that the tech has advanced enough to address this in some way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just a +1 to this since I was about to post the same thing. It's really annoying on my Tech Sleek helmet. It's my first character with a full helmet so I never noticed it before but it's pretty icky looking. -
First - I see there are skull brooches for female model capes, thank you so much! Edit - the skulls are floating very high over the shoulders. For all body types. The other brooch types just don't do that. Can we have those placement standarsd carried over to the skull brooches?
Also skull belts are now missing from Jacket tops. They have been there since CoV but now they're gone as of I8 and was bug reported in game and through the forums. Please return the skull belts. -
Think I posted this in the wrong thread so posting here:
This was reported so hopefully it's known.. Skull belts are now missing from Jacket tops. They have been there since CoV but now they're gone as of I8 and was bug reported in game and through the forums. Please return the skull belts. -

I really hope this is an oversight. For some reason several belt options are now gone from the Jacket section.
First - thank you for fixing the skull brooches with jackets. They no longer sink inside the jacket but rest on top.
Reported Bug
Fixed Bug
Well it's mostly fixed since the brooch floats above considerably now. Can it be lowered slightly without making it sink into the jacket? I imagine not but I figured I'd ask. Thanks a lot for fixing this.
Now here's the disheartening thing. If I ever want to take advantage of this fix I'll apparently lose out on my belt seen here. All of the skull belts are gone from jackets - the fanged, normal and head hunter (though that may have always been gone) are missing. As you can see in that screenshot of Mister Halloween - the skull belts worked fine and I never had any clipping with that jacket and that belt. Please place the belts back.
Thanks! -

- Capes. I've noticed just recently (in rear/back view) that the capes don't seem to sit across the shoulders properly, that is, they don't flow like they used to. I can see a clear visible line across the shoulders, so the cape looks like it's been tacked together in two pieces, and sometimes there is a gap between them.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a bug, but it comes and goes. Sometimes you get this; when you rezone it is usually gone. Seems the cape misaligns with the shoulders, and when the toon is re-drawn after a transit, it is realigned. Its correct about 90% of the time, but still annoying when it happens.
Think this used to happen more frequently back when capes first appeared, or I may just be more jaded now.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've noticed this a lot more in the last couple months than ever before. Almost 1 out of 3 times I zone. Changing costumes back and forth or zoning works but it is very annoying. I don't know and I actually doubt it, if other players see this at the same time you do. Meaning it may look fixed on yours but others see it broke or it may look broke in your view but fixed when other players see you. -
The Angst mask style has white dots in in the mouth piece regardless of how you color the piece.
Angst
May not be as visible in this pic, my monitor is dark. But it's very noticeable on lighter monitors.
