Very sad news. She was entirely too young. She'll be missed.

It's not your space booty it's your beauty.
Love it!

That's super nice of him and the art came out very, very cool! Congrats to all of you for that.

- Pop Up Message settings should stick to new characters after you change it the first time. I really dislike getting those on every single character I make. I believe the desired behavior happens with certain settings like seeing Enemy private messages.
- I'd like the default tab order to be set to something like All, Invention, Special, Incarnate, Event, Component, Base and then let us drag and rearrange if further order customization is desired by a player. -
Quote:Sounds good. I'm super patient so whichever angle you prefer is fine, I'm in no rush. Look forward to it.Actually I had counted her out, and had started looking at the V girl initially, then I went to some of the others you suggested, and on a lark went back to her and did a search. I found this amazing piece by someone on DA, and it was dark and erie, and green... and I thought yeah, that could work.
I definitely like some of the angles you have here, but not sure if they will work for the whip I want to put in her hands. I gotta do another sketch, but I think at this point I already have your approval, so I'm just gonna go for it tomorrow. -
Wow! That's extremely beautiful. One of his best, IMO!

Yup. That's hot. Congrats, looks even more amazing with color!

I think that's really cool! I was a bit taken aback since you said Natalie was one of the less interesting people I listed but she was around the top of my list so I'm happy with her at any rate.
A few pics that I was looking at that propelled her to the top are shown below. They weren't smiley and had short hair built in (could make it easier to paint over?).
Sorry if I got carried away. I was looking at so many pictures for *each* one of those personalities on the list, which was about 10 or so people total, that I have a lot of reference shots for each at the ready. Kinda like showing them off.I think in these examples it illustrates why she was in my top picks.
And now my cold medicine is just making me ramble. In short - Natalie is a good and I love that you chose her and where you're going with it! -
Quote:The more I read in this section, the more I realize it is all about the bottom line to the suits in charge of the Devs. No improvements will be made unless they bring in new players or revenue, so I was thinking... what if there were Expansion Packs you could buy that gave you access to place a variety of themed objects - either adding the new objects to base editor OR just making them placeable "personal items." Like other personal items placed in base - anyone can see them. I'm sure it's been mentioned B4 (tho I couldn't find it).
QUESTIONS:
1. Would you buy Base Expansion Packs?
2. How much would you pay?
3. What themed Base Expansion Packs would you like to see?
4. How many items should a Base Expansion Pack contain?
a few I'd like to see are...
Circle of Thorns PACK: Multi-colored crystals and sconces, altars and other decorative Arcane items
Carnival of Shadows PACK: various objects from Carnie missions etc.
Longbow: steel boxes, etc
1. Yes
2. 9.99
3. Victorian, Steampunk, Weird Science (new skins for all the tech stuff currently in bases so they can have a Steampunk look)
4. Not sure, 20-30?
Quote:1. Absolutely. In fact, at this point, although I know I am the minority here, to me a Base Expansion Pack > More costume packs.
2. $9.99. The same as the others, as long as it had a similar amount of new stuff.
3. As opposed to the idea of specific themed ones (Circle, Carnie, etc) I propose the concept of basing them around new (though not game-changing) functions for the base.
IE. (off the top of my head)
-"Training Room" pack with several different versions of Target-Practice dummies & a Trainer
-"Wardrobe Room" pack with a Tailor, ICON-style customizable mannequins, SG-specific uniforms.
-"Vendor Room" pack with access to the Market, Quartermasters/Vendors, etc.
4. All of those packs would contain a fair amount (I dunno, maybe 20 or so) of new/proliferated decorative items, in addition to the big functional items.
Of course the biggest problem with this idea in general is the fact that the amount of people with a reason to purchase it is far lesser than the usual amount of people who would purchase a costume/emote pack. So, perhaps if each also included new costumes/emotes/badges/temp powers/etc so that someone who doesn't do the base editing might still decide to drop $10 on it.
Maybe one could include a "mission door" TPer for the base that although visible to everyone, only works for people who bought the pack. Perhaps that's how all the new functional items for the base would work. You can see the new Tailor in the base, but you don't have access to it unless you have the pack. That isn't particularly unfair to the people who don't have the pack, but it could be a reason for someone who doesn't do base editing to purchase it anyway. -
Thanks for the build! Definitely helps give me a point of reference.
Did you mean to put Super Jump in instead of Combat Jumping?
I'm surprised at how fast the slots are used up. Boo. I was thinking I'd have extra slots for Hide, Health, Blinding Power (for the Coercive Persuasion set bonuses) and Caltrops as well as having to put more into the Presence Pool because they stuck w/o a lot of slots.
Is the Tier 9 in Nin not worth getting?
If it is I may have to just rely on the Vigilante power for concept until the time they make Presence less sucktastic. IF so what two powers do you suggest replacing it with? -
Very nice work! Interesting cast selection.
-
Sure! Surprise away.
I'm still not sold on who would play her. I saw something in each that I mentioned as having great potential in playing her role. My friend probably influenced me greatly (they're a Spice girl fan...). I was thinking of running a DA poll to get more feedback - I'm so conflicted on who would be the best GQ. After having a character for 7 years it's hard to give that honor to just one famous personality! Haha.

Quote:I'd be thrilled if you gave her a spin!Fun stuff, always liked your avatar... especially like the Rantz and Redg404 pieces... am very tempted to give her a go, can I ask what her powers are, and who would you cast as she in a movie?
Bobby
Tough questions for me to answer without a lot of explanation, let's see.
Power wise, there isn't a set in game that fully matches what I've had in mind for her. I've tried Illusion/Kin back when I first made her at launch. I tried Plant/Psi when I rerolled her as a villain. I guess I'm waiting for one of two things: Illusion/Whip Assault (or Illusion/Dark) for Dominators WITH the Phantom/Phantasm pets being customizable to goblins OR Demon Summoning/Dark or Pain or Storm with the Demons being customizable to where I turn them green to look like goblins (or outright costume edited goblins). Basically, general magic use that specializes in illusions, darkness, goblin summoning and whip assault. If I had to roll her right now as a power set considering no more new stuff for CoH then it'd be Demon MM and I'd waffle on Darkness/Pain/Storm as secondaries and pretend the demons were goblins.
As to who I would have play her in a movie, it's funny, I've been thinking about this for a while and debating with a friend about who it'd be. I finally narrowed it down to the following top three: Rihanna, Victoria Beckham and Natalie Portman. All with short hair styles and during times that they acted or looked their most wicked. In an ideal situation I'd amalgamate them all together for the perfect Goblin Queen. If I had to choose between the three... it'd be tough. Probably a coin toss on Rihanna and Victoria.
There were many contenders who I had to think hard about: Keira Knightly, a young Winona Ryder, Morena Baccarin (omg - Anna in V, 'nuff said), Shannyn Sossamon, Halle Berry, Pink and Hillary Swank were all in the top selections. I had to narrow them down on the potential evil they could pull off in their looks, the fay qualities about them and other such traits. -
Quote:I like it. More Fear the better.Presence Pool
- Target AoE Taunt (Mag 4), 10s recharge
- Single Target Fear (Mag 2), 20s recharge
- Cone Fear (Mag 2), 40s recharge
- Target AoE Fear (Mag 2), 40s recharge
(and thanks for the Thread Necro, btw...)
And no problem. It's a Tier 9 of mine.
Quote:Just a thought pulling out of the air, what if instead of a AoE Confuse, a PBAoE debuff.
Awe
Toggle: PBAoE
Casting Time: 1.32s
Recharge: 8s
Endurance: .32
Range: 10ft
Max Target:10
Effect: - 3.75% to hit Debuff for 5.96s
Effect: - 3.75% Defense Debuff for 5.96s
The Concept... if your got that much "presence" about you, or Awe. Then it would be hard for people to bring themselves to swing at you (to hit debuff), and would be in Awe of your power, so they would be easyer to hit as well (Defense Debuff).
A double debuff like this might intice people to go into the presence tree, and considering it takes 2 other power choices to even get here. it would still not make it into all biulds. -
Thanks so much for the advice. Looking forward to the build!
I guess I need to research Smoke Flash more. I know it doesn't put you into Hide instantly (which I think would be awesome) but if it placates the mobs in the area long enough then don't you go into Hide anyway if you don't attack? If it doesn't even do that then I guess I can mess with the Temp version if I want to throw around an extra concept toy now and then.
RE: Presence Pool. I know it sucks but since it can stack with Fear Incarnate, can global bonuses and Incarnate abilities (Alpha) make it.. somewhat useful? Maybe? LOL Good to know that AS Fear doesn't stack tho.
Quote:-Smoke Flash isn't all that great because it doesn't put you back into hidden.
-Presence pool is pretty crappy.
-I don't think think you can stack the fear from AS, but I am not certain on that.
-Ninja Run makes a good travel power. I use to use it as my sole travel power before inherent Fitness.
-Spiritual because +recharge is always good. Musculature is good choices, but you wont feel the effects until the higher Tiers. So is cardiac if you have end problems.
-Ive tried everything expect Pyronic but i heard it is one of the best Judgment powers.
-Interface you might want to go for Reactive for more damage and -res debuff or Diamagnetic for -toHit debuff to help help survive incarnate trials foes who have higher acc and for the -regen which helps for hard targets.
-For Destiny Barrier and Rebirth from what ive heard. Barrier is just amazing even if your softcapped.
-I will work on a build when i get off my mac and back on my PC -
Quote:Sold.Yeah there is some sense there. Challenge is a pretty limited power so removing that could be a convienient way to improve the pool. I think I'd still keep Invoke Power as the second power though giving:
Level 6 Powers: Provoke and Intimidate
Level 14 Power: Invoke Power
Level 20 Power: An AoE Confuse
;P
I really, really hate getting Taunt to get to the Fear stuff. -
Hey all. I've never gotten a Stalker beyond the mid 30s but I think this is the one concept that will see me through to the end game on a Stalker.
I'm doing a Spring Heeled Jack character concept that's envisioned as a Victorian Batman.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_Heeled_Jack
Sadly I can't get all the powers to cover this Victorian urban legend but I settled on Claws/Ninjitsu/Weapon Mastery as my primary pics due to the claws that he had in the legends as well as focusing more on the toys that a Victorian Batman would have. I'll probably dip into the Invention temporary powers and Day Job powers to get more gadgets.
At level 20 I'll be going Vigilante so I can get the Fear Incarnate power and I was thinking of dipping into the Presence pool so the two can stack (and perhaps stack with the periodic Fear going off after you AS a target). I know the Presence pool is pretty sucky but I was hoping that with the Vigilante power then they would play nice together. I was also hoping that the world of Global bonuses and Incarnate abilities would offset the need to heavily slot the Presence powers? I'm not a number cruncher so I'm not sure.
What I want to end up doing with this guy is to be able to be a mini Scrapper after the AS and survive small to medium groups of enemies.
In the Weapons pool I'd probably only want Physical Perfection, Shuriken and Exploding Shuriken. I'd also probably want all the toys in /Nin unless Smoke Flash is basically the same in the Invention set and I should stick with that instead - it's definitely bummer to have to reload that after 10 uses tho.
Travel power - well Spring Heeled Jack is a jumper of course so Super Jump seems the best but I'm thinking I may not have room for that if I go deep into the Presence pool. Perhaps Ninja Run is enough to get by on and enough for the concept? I do have the City Traveler badge so I could bypass a precursor like Combat Jumping to get Super Jump but I imagine I could put CJ to good use for Global Recharge?
I'm pretty bad with building IO'd out builds and capping defenses and whatnot. It's not something I've come close to mastering yet so I'm coming to you guys to help with a build that has the above things in mind and is still viable and effective from 1-50+. I'd even like to know which Alpha and other Incarnate Slots you suggest for this type of Stalker. I may go Pyro Judgement to accommodate the Fire Breath aspect of the legend.
Inf isn't that much of a big deal. I know I can farm Hero/Villain merits with other characters and send the inf or recipes to my Vigilante but I doubt I'd have a ton of purples.
Thanks for any help and builds you guys can throw my way. I reallllly want to get this guy to the end and finally have a level 50 Stalker. -
I'd love to see this Pool adjusted somehow. In particular the Endurance costs and perhaps not having to take a Taunt power to get to the Fear powers.. but the End/Duration perhaps would be enough to make the set more appealing. Not having to 6 slot them and only needing 3-4 slots to make the most out of these powers would be ideal.

Quote:Just remove the long animation time on AS and remove the interrupt.
I'd be down with this as well as Hide shedding aggro. I'd also enjoy it if the AS still caused the -to hit and potential Fear on the surrounding targets even if the main target dies in the initial strike. I would think someone dying immediately in front of them would scare the crap out of the nearby mobs.
I'd really like it if the Fear chance was increased and maybe even a small percentage chance to Fear on select or every melee attack. Similar mechanically (implementation wise) as Tankers and their Bruising but on all the melee, not just the tier 1 power. Granted, that'd be possibly OPd but I think Stalkers should scare the hell out of NPCs. -
