I open Winamp and click random.
I've got 27 gigs of music, so anything that comes on is listened to. I love everything from classical to classic, from rock to Western. My playlist covers Chopin to Hollywood Undead and beyond.
(Please note I said Western and not country. I loathe the nasal whiny vocals of most country singers. I want male artists to sound like men, not whiny wimps. That's why 'Seven Spanish Angels' is a much better song to me than 'Please Don't Take the Girl.')
When I was helping @Anasthesia with the mission to enter the Seers mind and defeat the aspect of Praetor Tillman, she regretted the help, because I was singing along to "Walk Hard" while smashing mobs left and right on my Brute. -

I hope you guys are done. I have a ton of friends in Oz, and I want them all to be safe!

Quote:Yeah, she knows all that. I'm ignorant on photo manipulation and editing techniques, but she's a professional photographer with a flair for the artsy, and she wanted something different.Yeah I guessed from blown frontal lighting that it was taken with a webcam mounted on a monitor.
One thought on that... try turning up any indirect lighting in the room (if possible) and then putting an image
of black or dark grey on the screen (hint: open any image editing app and use the paint bucket to fill it or, barring that,
turn the brightness and contrast way down on your screen).
Shrink or tuck off to the side whatever app needs to run to capture the image and then try it.
You'll probably get a much better result initially and also you will have a better starting point from which to edit if you choose to.
You can always add brightness and contrast if an image is a little too dark but if you completely out part of it (all white) when you do turn
the brightness down there will be nothing left in that space for you to edit and you'll have to try and re-create information that no longer exists.
Also, being a photographer, she's rarely on the receiving end of the cam. -
Quote:Heh, thanks.Ok that version of the list has 30 and 31 flipped.
Makes more sense (although less funny) within the prior context that way.
Also I took a whack at fixing the over exposed (heh) pic of Anasthesia above...
much trickier but I think it shows her off better now.
Cheers!
She took that with her webcam while leaning into her monitor. -
Quote:I'd have to say my favorite Batman/ Joker moment was in "The Killing Joke" where Bats finally corners the Joker, who has shot Barbara and kidnapped Gordon, and our favorite green-haired psycho says to Batman:I think Joker is very interesting, in the fact that he is the only villain to my knowledge (I don't read comics, I do watch all the justice leagues and cartoons and movies) that can really really make Batman mad, I don't mean the mad that he gets beats up on the guy then brushes off the feeling. I mean really gets under Batman's skin. He is the only villain that I am aware of that constintly makes Batman toe the "I won't kill you" rule.

He says 'Hey! I have my flashlight with me! I'll shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk along the beam and join me!' B-but the second guy just shakes his head. He suh-says... He says 'Wh-what do you think I am? Crazy? You'd turn it off when I was half way across!'" -
Quote:I have to stay away, not cause you said so, but because @Anasthesia would go, to quote her, "crazy mad scrapper" on me.Ok, ok, you can have your line hack... Just stay away from MY SenseiBlur! She's mine!!
You can tell, cause she offered my chocolates!!
By the way, here's @Anasthesia:

I could see Whip as a powerset, and the swing from chandelier option would just be a teleport like the Shield Charge with a slightly different animation.

But when you farm demons, how far apart should you plant them?

Hilarious.
As much as I'm not a fan of the song, "Bodies" the video with that as the background music is hilarious as well. -
Okay, speaking of being a geek:

Pics of me, @Anasthesia, my tatts, an adopted cat, a scary santa and more. -
I've just gotten an Earth/Thorns out of Praetoria recently, and I really like it.
I'm mostly play Scrappers and Brutes, but I have a WS, a D3, a troller and now a Dom.
/Thorn plays like a second cousin to Spines, at least to me. It's fun, and I stay on my toes playing it, watching as mob after helpless mob falls to my AoE might.
I've never tried Mind, but someone just soloed MoLRSF on a Mind/Fire, so I'm sure it's a solid primary. -
Batman for sure.
I also love the different versions of 'The Crow' comics and how everyone who is brought back to avenge their loved ones has a different take and feel on the mythos of the story.
Rorschach is another favorite. I am the complete opposite spectrum of his political, religious and social views, but he just appeals to me. '
So does Marv from 'Sin City.' -
I haven't watched the first movie since about a year after it came out. Only watched the second and third one once each when they were released, so it's really no surprise I don't remember that scene.
Quote:Well, aside from the fact that they did use the 'Spidey-Sense' in the first movie in a scene devoted to it (he just never called it 'Spidey-Sense') I also recall many moments in the comics and TV-Shows where he appears to also have a sort of super-strength, being able to throw things many times his own weight using his webs (say what you want about the webs being strong in and of themselves, that's still his strength he's using to tug the webs.) and I remember a moment in one thing where he picked up a round dinner table and hurled it through the air with his bare hands - it's to the point where Mutants and Masterminds players actually give him at least minor super strength when they stat him out.
Of course, according to that game, Wolverine could lift 400lbs, and Rogue was a mere 50 tons, when I recall the comics, she was deadlifting over 60 tons with no problem. I think that was in Forge's workshop, but I could be wrong. Then again, I haven't played MSH since high school, so I could be remembering wrong, but that was a fun game! -

Quote:As a die hard spidey fan from way way back I feel obliged to correct this characterization of the... um character. (Yes, I own copies of ASM #42 and #50, featuring the first appearances of Mary Jane Watson and King Pin respectively. Not to mention far far too many books beyond that.)
The first three films barely touched on it, but for decades, one of Spiderman's MANY powers beyond his agility and wall walking was his signature "spider sense," a sort of vague precognition that would warn Peter Parker of imminent physical danger.
I realize this is a geeky nitpick entirely tangential to your points. This additional power makes Parker in no way a god, BUT as a decades long fan of the long running mythos I am saddened that this aspect of the character was for the most part written out of the mainstream films (aside from a few moments in the first film where it is hinted at via some time changes and audio cues played when we are sort of inside Parker's head just before an action sequence begins). Plus it gave the artists this great excuse to draw these wonderfully graphic halo of black wavy lines around Spidey's head.
Okay--back to the subject at hand.
</geekmoment>
To add to this, I remember when Spiderman was a comic strip in the papers as well. I was too young (around 3 or 4) to enjoy the serial type setup of the comic, but I remember when his Spidey-sense was going off, it would show only half the mask on Peter's face if he wasn't in full costume.
I remember asking my mom, who to this day knows nothing about comics except her son collected them, why Peter only had half his mask on! -
Quote:With 4 "seasons" a year how the heck can a show build a solid fanbase? The season's over just as it's starting to attract people and then they forget about it. If a show isn't an instant hit it's screwed.Quote:I have a feeling it's got more to do with DVD sales than anything. They can get busy selling them and making money if they can crank out the seasons faster by making the seasons' broadcast time shorter.
I've always liked smaller and more detailed over epic and sweeping. -
Welcome back!
It's nothing now for a Scrapper to solo a Task Force, or an AV. It's become pretty commonplace.
I'd put some slots in Stamina, and lose the Provoke and Intimidate. I'd also get rid of at least one of the Travel Power Pools. You don't need Air Superiority, Super Jump and Super Speed on one character. And unless you have the Vet Reward for it, you can't take Super Jump without taking Combat Jumping or Jump Kick first.
Before Inherent Fitness, I'd actually say lose all the Travel Powers altogether, but you have the extra slots now, so take one.
A lot has changed in the past couple of years, and some of the other guys who frequent the Scrapper forum can help you out with your build. I've never been a fan of /Regen (only one I had I deleted around 30) but it's good to see you back in CoX! -
Quote:I picked up on that as well. I was thinking AoE damage? Is that when the Executor reads that the bereaved's mistress is getting the estate in Monte Carlo with the new Aston-Martin, and the grieving widow is left with the home in Malibu and the Porsche? It's probably just because of my RL job (financial) - but every time I read through this thread, I can't help but wonder why one of OP's new ATs is a person who handles the estate of a dead person (Exec-utor). Sorry, I guess it's one of those quirky English language things.
Anywho, I'm agreeing with Memphis Bill about these - strange limitations on these things would make them pretty unplayable. Not just "challenging", but really unplayable.
