Getting back into the game

Hey all,

I stopped playing a couple years ago and I'm looking to get back into the game and check out the end-game on my DM/Regen scrapper. I honestly have no idea what the state the game is in and to save myself a ton of reading, I'm hoping to get some quick advice.

The things I remember changing since I last played was the change to DR for enhancements (eg. slotting more than 3 damages into an ability significantly diminishes the value of each enhancement after the third). However, I did a little looking around at builds on the forums and I found that people are slotting more than 3 now, but they are using enhancements that have multiple uses.

Here is a sample build I came up with after taking a look at a few in here, but I didn't slot it as I'm not sure which are the best or how to go about handling it honestly.

Thanks for any feedback or reading suggestions!

Welcome back!

It's nothing now for a Scrapper to solo a Task Force, or an AV. It's become pretty commonplace.

I'd put some slots in Stamina, and lose the Provoke and Intimidate. I'd also get rid of at least one of the Travel Power Pools. You don't need Air Superiority, Super Jump and Super Speed on one character. And unless you have the Vet Reward for it, you can't take Super Jump without taking Combat Jumping or Jump Kick first.

Before Inherent Fitness, I'd actually say lose all the Travel Powers altogether, but you have the extra slots now, so take one.

A lot has changed in the past couple of years, and some of the other guys who frequent the Scrapper forum can help you out with your build. I've never been a fan of /Regen (only one I had I deleted around 30) but it's good to see you back in CoX!

Thanks! Inherent fitness is kinda the best thing for me right now

Yup - good call on the vet reward note. The character planner should tell me that or make it more clear since I didn't realize.

If I opt out of travel pools, what should I take in addition to my primary/secondary? If it matters, this guy used to be a badge ***** and I'm looking to continue that so I'm guessing a build that allows me to solo the most effectively is what I'm interested in.

-drop presence for fight pool
-consider leadership pool
-best attack chain is MG > smite > Siphon Life > Smite (most skip shadow punch, it adds flavor tho at the cost of some dps - i miss it
-Read up on IO sets for recharge and the Spirit Tree for your Alpha (both really important!!)
-Air Sup is still a nice saftey feature - i'd pick one b/w it and Shadow punch (based on travel power?)
-Try to keep Touch of Fear - again not my people take it due to dps, but a lot of fun and flavor to it
-Have fun, build toons with IOs, experiment, welcome back
(feel free to ignore me those are just my opinions)
