  1. Can I order a copy directly from you, Troy? Drove two hours there and two hours back and they don't have it, and the only Hickman they knew of wrote "Dragonlance".

Tim and Frank all the way! They were the reason I watched and still rewatch that show. I loved it. Best cop show ever.

    On topic:

    Gaiman Woods (Neil Gaiman)
"Rescue Phyllo for Station Manager George" (UHF)

I'd love some "Big Bang Theory" and "The IT Crowd" references.

I know going rogue is new and city of heroes came out back in 2004 but is playing as a hero not supposed to have any missions? So far as my hero all I have been doing is running around fighting criminals and doing no missions. When I started I noticed my compass at the top mentioed father time in pocket D but nothing on my compass guides me to father time or pocket D. As a Praetorian I was doing missions right away, but I know city of heroes came out back in 2004 so I wasn't sure if doing missions at the begining is a new thing or not. So any way my hero is currently level 8 and has not done any missions. Is that normal or am I missing something? Do I get missions at a later level as a hero? Do I need to go explore further? I know in Praetoria you get your missions from White who is close to Duncan who levels you up but in Galaxy city I don't see anyone near the person who levels me up.
They're all in City Hall. You should have a person on your Contacts list who will give you your first mission.

Your Contact will be dependent on your Origin. Just go into City Hall and talk to that Contact, and off you go.

Good luck, and welcome to CoX!

    Thanks all!
Looks like I'm going to be around a little longer. Not signing the lease till the 14th, so my fiance, @Anasthesia, convinced me to keep playing. And to help her get her new MM to 50...
  6. Hey, welcome to the game, Knowitall!

There's lot of people on Freedom, so you should find a great SG/VG and a lot of friends with no problem!

Today is going to be my last day for a while, because I'm about to open my own restaurant and I won't have time to play, but it's good to see new people joining.

Good luck in the game. I hope you have a blast!

Also Johnny isn't really dead, he'll come back even if it takes a year or two.
First rule in comics, the only people that stay dead are Bruce Wayne's parents. :P

So I read the issue, and you don't even really see the kill, just Johnny getting swarmed by a bunch of bugs. For me, If you don't see the kill then it didn't happen.
Yep, it retconned a whole season of Dallas in one fell swoop. Back then, Dallas was the CSI of the TV watching world. Everyone either loved it or hated it.

    Television make this happen!

    Yeah, me too.

Supposedly, this is going to be the end of the Fantastic Four title. At least till the reboot next Spring when they have new costumes and everyone acts like Johnny wasn't killed.
  11. In another game @Anasthesia and I played, she and her friends used Vent, even though there was a built in voice server for the game.

Then they all went to That Other Game, and they got so bad at using Vent, they wouldn't even bother to read chat tabs, even if they knew there were people online in the guild who didn't have mics, couldn't speak because they didn't want to wake up their families, etc.

If you weren't on Vent, they didn't pay any attention to you. It got so bad that the guild for That Other Game broke up, because the leader refused to even look at chat.

We had a discussion about this one time, and I was told that voice-chatters made better players. I told him that was funny, because I could carry on two conversations in text, listen to music, carry on a conversation here at the house, and still fight groups of +4s and AVs without breaking a sweat, yet they can't coordinate 5 people on one MOb using Voice.
  12. I loved reading Wizard. Not for the price guide, but the articles, interviews and humor.

As Cowman said, it pointed out some new books and creators I may not have heard of otherwise.
  13. Did Summer remind anyone else of Sigourney Weaver in that episode? Especially the opening scene.

  15. Is it going to be on Amazon? Nearest comic store to me is almost two hours away.
  16. Robocop was a Christ-figure as well. Everything from being killed in a crucifix position, to being reborn, to walking on water.
  17. I wasn't really implying that my names were "Good" or "the best ever" for everyone. I don't even like some of the names I come up with.

When I was 10, I wanted to make a superhero named Comet Man. When I was 20, it was Aftermath. At 30, it was Euphoria. Now I'm approaching 40, and it's whatever sounds interesting and unique.

Most of my names are taken from songs, poems, books or just dialogue from tv and movies that sticks with me. So a lot of the iconic names I see and hear just kind of make me cringe sometimes. But that's just me.

The again, I just saw "Storm-" in Precinct 5.

And it's hilarious to see an NPC say, "I heard a lost teddy bear defeated Nemesis."

    Fire / Thorn

I just started an Earth/ Thorn. I'm level 14 and loving it.

  20. I'm not being snarky here, but I'm really surprised at the number of people who claim they cannot get good names.

On Freedom alone since Saturday I've gotten:

    Sulphuric
    Abyssal Rift
    in silent lucidity
    Premeditated
    come out and play

In the last year, again on Freedom, I've gotten:

    Cheat Code
    a lost teddy bear
    Revolutions of Ruin
    Not Without Incident
    Jerusalem Thorne
    Going Baroque
Ainfean (which is Irish for storm)
    Let Them Not Weep

This isn't counting all the common name characters I've made, including Elijah and Bryce.

So, I really cannot grasp the idea that people claim there are no more good names, when there are obviously plenty out there. Maybe it's just me, but I don't have a problem coming up with new and creative names.
  21. Welcome to the game, Tavid!

A lot has been said already about finding teams and global chat channels, if you add me to your Global Friends, I'll be glad to help you out.

Go to your Friends list, drop down from Server Friends to Global and add:

@Imminent Violence and I'll do my best to help you with missions, advice or whatever.

If you're not on Freedom, don't worry, you can still talk to other people on other servers using Global names.

CoX is a great game, with an awesome community!
  22. Seebs, after the week I've had and the stress I've been under, I really needed something that would make me smile.

But you made me laugh. Awesome post. I love it!

And I need you to send me a new keyboard and replacement beer, which is what damaged the keyboard.

Reminded me of a classic Atlas Park broadcast I used when it was popular to spam SG invites there.

"Why So Serious is now not recruiting. We're not a TOP TEN SG, and we do farms, missions, TFs and PLing for each other. don't SEND ME A TELL for invite!"

    New Weapons!

Those are actually called bastones, and they are awesome. You can also use kukris or even knives with it.
  24. GibsonMcCoy

    New Weapons!

I've said it before, and I'll repeat it here.

I'd love a polearm or staff melee powerset.
