So, I thought I'd let you all know that next week we'll (Palladium, Kerensky, Avatea and myself) all be heading over to visit NCNC for a wonderful week of meetings and discussions and suchlike.
We're not going to be able to bring back too much in the way of new information for you, however we'll see what we can get.
Now, before you dive right in there are a few things that I can say are pretty much certain to get a lot of "no comment" response: Anything to do with future development. If you don't know already, it means it's not ready for us to be able to tell you about it. Sorry.
What we are far more likely to get is additional information about development that's already occurred, such as: why certain powers were chosen to be Proliferated; the VEATs and how they came about; new zone designs and inspirations.
With the above in mind, we thought we'd give you the chance to post a few suggestions on what you would most like us to try to dig out. -
[ QUOTE ]
if in doubt, report it and the GM's will decide if it's an appropriate name or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT!
*ahem* More seriously, that's pretty much spot on. Better off reporting it and letting the GMs decide than letting a character run around for months with what might not be an appropriate name. -
I don't think this needs to be discussed in two places at once. Redirecting to the maintenance thread where a very similar post has already been answered.

If they did, no one's talking, see?
T'would be nice if GR could let us know the state of affairs though.
[/ QUOTE ]
As soon as I know, you'll know... -
[ QUOTE ]
Have bugged it, but at posting this message, no response as of yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you used /bug, you won't get a response.
Send a petition and our CS team should be able to resolve the problem you mention. -
I'm sure Castle meant internally, as in they know about the suggestion from the forums but they've never actively discussed or worked on designs.
-
I believe this may be fixed on the latest patch, currently in testing on the Training Room.

With regards using PayPal for subscriptions, we can't currently offer this as PayPal is not compatible with the recurring billing system.
[/ QUOTE ]
Further to this, we're continuing to investigate alternative payment means for subscriptions. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
We now accept PayPal as a payment option for all digital code purchases made through the PlayNC store (not for subscriptions or NCcoin). At this time, PayPal is only available for US Dollar purchases, though on Wednesday support for Euros and British pounds will be added. The PayPal payment option will show up beneath the Credit Card payment option and will require you to log into your PayPal account to complete the transaction. If you have any questions about this new payment option, please visit the Support Center for help.
[/ QUOTE ]
With this being said will we get this for us and to use to play the game? Paypal options on the us
[/ QUOTE ]
The answer is in the text you quoted
Support for UK £ and the Euro will be added today. I believe, though, that at the current time we will only be able to offer PayPal transactions to customers from the UK and Germany. We hope to expand PayPal availability to other countries over time.
With regards using PayPal for subscriptions, we can't currently offer this as PayPal is not compatible with the recurring billing system. -

IT DOES NOT AUTO-ISSUE THE /SYNC COMMAND - IT DOES NOT GET YOU BACK IN SYNC
...you have to do it yourself!
At least it's an easy way to find out that you're out of sync before it is too late.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hence why I said above that the code changes that were put in place don't appear to be working as intended...
[ QUOTE ]
My character that got used to get out of sync, still experience the problem, in the same amount as before.
As I am still having out of sync problems:<ul type="square">[*]My old petition is still active?[*]Should I petition it again?[*]Silently use /sync command and pretend that the problem isn't there any more?[/list]
[/ QUOTE ]
Please update your existing petition with this information. Definitely don't do the last option, as we do want to provide a more permanent remedy to the problem than the /sync command. -
Nope. As I said in both threads in Announcements, the maintenance had nothing to do with CoH (or, for that matter, any of our other games). The data centre that hosts our servers needed to perform some important maintenance on their infrastructure.

[ QUOTE ]
Plus the fact that the majority of the moderating would eventually be done over in the US, do you think that all of the EU moderating team would be kept?
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that we're not a moderating team and that moderation is only a partial element of our jobs, nothing would change in terms of staffing within the community team.
-
We actually discussed the possibility of merging the forums earlier this year. At the time, and this is still the case now, we decided that the known disadvantages (technical, social, and targeted information sharing amongst other things) outweighed the potential advantages.
-
Heya,
Can you let us know where you saw this, and what was going on at the time? -
[ QUOTE ]
1. The /sync command is a workaround. The command wasn't the only change made with this build, however it appears that the hoped-for fix has not worked (based on your point 4).
[/ QUOTE ]
Expanding on this slightly, the build on live currently included some code changes intended to address the desync bug. These were in addition to the /sync command, and we're monitoring how effective these changes are. -
It was posted in the original thread about in-game advertising.
-
There is a notice on the Launcher notifying of extended maintenance today.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Left the name of the GM out, but read the reply... How clueless can you get?
1: it's not a fix, it's a workaround.
2: it's /sync not /synch
3: logging out and in after typing /sync just bring me out of sync again. This is not how the function works.
4: the issue ain't resolved... i still desync every time i zone.
Kudos for replying after a month, but the information is very faulty :|
[/ QUOTE ]
The information is correct (barring the typo of the command):
1. The /sync command is a workaround. The command wasn't the only change made with this build, however it appears that the hoped-for fix has not worked (based on your point 4).
2. Correct, the command is /sync. I'll be asking if we can have /synch added as an alias as well. Apologies for the confusion.
3. The text you quoted only requests this be done once (upon first logging in and using the /sync command). If the problem persists you should only use the /sync command, as noted in the second paragraph of the email you received. See my response to point 1 above.
4. Thanks for letting us know, we'll pass that information along to NCNC and they will continue investigating the issue.
Once again, please be assured that the /sync command is not seen as being a permanent solution to the desync issue and we will continue to investigate. -
Any slots added to your account will not be removed at a later time. They are yours to keep and use as you please.
Their absence right now is due to an issue that is currently being worked on (see my earlier post in this thread). -
[ QUOTE ]
I wonder about this.
[ QUOTE ]
For a limited time, all accounts that log into the Live Servers will receive 2 free Character Slots. This is for a *Limited* time only.
[/ QUOTE ]
In what way it was limited may not of been correctly 'guessed' by some people.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's already been clarified. They are limited in that at a point of time in the future we will stop offering the free slots granted with Issue 12 release (the 2 free ones). Those who have already received them will keep them forever.
