  1. A Crushshing field (mass immobilize) would distract the medic from it's duties. And propelling a heavy object from her bag should be enough to knock him out (( Propel, heavy dmg, doubled through containment if the medic is immobilized, and a decent knockback ))
  2. Cindy lay on the cot of her jail cell, going over the past few days that had led to her arrest.
It was hard, with all the crying, but she’d finally got her mother tell the tale of their families tragedy.

She got a picture from an old newspaper, she looked quite singular, hard to miss if she found her. Good. The paper also said she was frequently seen in Galaxy City.
Luckily, there were a few Hellions that were more than willing to talk, provided she stopped administering cuts and stopped pushing pressure points.
‘Miss Ellie’ frequented a gathering place at the foot of the Galaxy Girl statue, almost every evening.

Having observed from the shadows for a few nights, she realised that this would indeed be the best place to strike… Her house? Unknown. Where she spends the nights? The Hollows, somewhere. Many nights spend searching for it, and days interrogating Trolls, Outcasts and Thorns… yielded little.

But striking at the statue would be dangerous, the little murderer had wrapped many of the heroes there around her lying little finger. The curare she’d acquired would help, make sure she got the job done.

Then, at last, last night was to be the night. After her main protectors had left, a fight broke out. A fight between two demons that commanded a lot of attention.
Cautiously, yet casually, Cindy made her way around the fight, to the statue. As she approached her target, she kept an eye on her surroundings.

She recognized Nevermore, and hoped that he would help her if things went wrong: she was after a murderer after all, but the fact that he hadn't acted on Ellie's presence made her cautious. There was also a child, couldn’t have been older than 12, close to Ellie. Oblivious to the danger she was in, being near a child murderer. Cindy just hoped she’d be able to kill Ellie before she could kill this child as well…

As she was reaching behind her and gripped the wakasashi (a shorter version of a katana) hidden under her shirt, things happened...

The child, in naïve innocence, greeted Cindy, distracting her but a moment from her task, enough to delay her strike... One of the demons attacked Ellie and she changed into a monster; showing everyone her true form. Cindy stumbled back: This was the beast that had torn her brother limb from limb... Had the child not distracted her, her blade would have struck an armoured hide, instead of a vulnerable back.

Struggling to remain calm, to wait for the right moment, her ninja training barely won over her rage. But her patience was rewarded when Ellie changed back to the shape of lies, her human one. Her blood almost boiling, barely controlled by 10 years o training, she crept up to Ellie unnoticed.

As she drew her blade, her rage was unleashed as well. “A tranquil blade strikes true” she reminded herself. In that split second she needed, the child called out a warning. The naïve fool saved the life of a murderer as her blade pierced the space Ellie had occupied.

The world faded, everything faded. Nothing remained but Cindy, Ellie and the space between them. Cindy leapt to bridge the distance and lashed out with her blade. Ellie was now dressed in shining white armor, yet another lie, it would all end in a few seconds.
Ellie caught the blade in her hand. This can not be! The armor is a lie! Cindy stared into Ellie’s eyes with such hatred, she did not notice the sadness that showed behind the glow. Cindy smiled: the armor was a lie, a mere cut was all she needed.
Drawing her blade back the second it was caught, she made a cut, even through the armor, and Ellie’s fate was sealed.

Aiming another strike, this time at Ellie’s exposed neck, Cindy lashed out with all her anger: Vengeance would be hers!
A metal swish and a click penetrated Cindy’s world just before her blade was stopped by Nevermore’s claws. Her riposte was also quickly blocked. Her reflexes saved her as she was barely able to evade his counter strike.
Returning upright to a fighting position, she suddenly felt a weight on her back: the child jumped on her. In that second her balance was tested beyond it’s limits as Nevermore landed a kick to her head. She fell back, the child caught them –she might make a good ninja- but kept Cindy off balance. The child had strength, the Fox could not struggle free.

Nevermore extends his claws and holds them to Cindy's throat, "Stop...or I'll hurt you"

"You... protect.. this... MURDERER?" she spat in Nevermore's face.

Nevermore withdrew his claws and took out a tranquillizer dart. The dart hit her in the neck, sedating the struggling Fox.

The last thing she remembered was the feeling of a sharp sting in her leg.

Yep, bases are the only crossover feature introduced with the release of CoV that you have to buy CoV to access.

And if you want to really get angry, there's a very high chance that the software required to enter and use bases is already on your hard drive from the Issue 6 update, and the server simply won't allow you to enter the base because it doesn't detect CoV on your PC.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or rather: because it doesn't detect the CoV setting on your account...
  4. You know... you could have corrected those typos when I send it to you...

And your Dutch isn't that bad
  5. Consequences

Life is struggle. Life isn’t fair. Life is fragile.

As Cindy sat in her jail cell, she felt as empty as she had felt these past 12 days. She remembered it like it was yesterday, she didn’t expect to ever forget it again.

12 days ago hope left her. 12 days ago she returned to a broken home. Having not seen her family in 10 years, she found her mother crying at the kitchen table. She had changed, she looked older, her hair turned completely white.

    “Mother, what’s wrong?”

Mother looked up “Cindy? Is that you?”

Cindy endured the hug for a moment before repeating the question: “What’s wrong?”

Mother broke into tears again, this was most disturbing, in her memory Mother was a strong woman. What had changed?
Cindy led her mother back to the table, and set her in a chair. Making a pot of tea – The kitchen looked smaller than she remembered – Cindy asked her Mother to tell her what was wrong.

Part of her wished she hadn’t.

Her brother Johnny, who she never even met, was dead.
Cindy got all the letters he had written her only two months ago, she looked forward to meeting him. Now she never would.
Johnny and his class had been on an excursion when the Vahzilok kidnapped them. Though it wasn’t the Vahzilok that killed him… it was the hero sent in to rescue him.
Eloise Smith. A so called ‘Peacebringer’.

Even though this murderer had been apprehended, and admitted to the act, she was running free. – The court found her ‘not guilty’. Not guilty? She admitted! Mind control? Excuses, only a weak mind could be controlled to such extend. Small things, sure, whole sale slaughter? Only if she was already likely to do so… She was guilty.

This was not the end of the tale…
Her father, who had been through the same training she had just completed, went to search for answers. The Peacebringer claimed to be controlled by a Nictus. The Council worked with Nictus.
That day the waters of Striga were red from the blood spilled by his blade. And his own blood: they never found all parts of his body.

    Eloise Smith.
She killed her brother, her lies got her father killed. Vengeance would be hers.
  6. Meager information leaves you with a lot to play with
    Worked out for the best
  7. hehe, a nice way to tie our stories together, complete with the RPing we did ingame... very nicely done.
Now I'll have to write up the Fox's tail (or is it tale... )
  8. I must say...
You've given Grave a depth of character I could not have forseen...
All I had when I first thought of her was a name (comming from numerous typos...) and the idea "dimensional twin"; "Dead family" and a resulting: "necromancy"

You've tied all this into a nice bundle of compexity that is a 'human' character.

    Well done!
  9. As Grav cast a Gravity Distortion Field (Mass hold) on the Paragon Protector, Grav said to Saphire:
"I'll deal with the Protector, and distract the Tank, can you take out the rest quickly?"
and followed up with a Gravity Distortion (Hold) (( hold + hold = boss permaheld ))

    Functional bases

    [ QUOTE ]
Now if there was only some way of selling off all this useless salvage cluttering up my inventory....................

    [/ QUOTE ]

When there are a few SGs with functional bases, I expect there will be some peddling for salvage.

And as per all MMO games, the prices will no doubt vary from rediculously high, so insanely cheap, and every thing in between.
  11. Nicely done!

I particularly like how the contact speaks through the narator boxes. It gives a high speed feel to the comic.
  12. I have a lvl 16 character, and in SG mode I get just as much inf as I do out of SG mode, I just also happen to earn prestige and have a chance to get salvage (which I _might_ be able to use in a few months)

My lvl 43 character doesn't earn inf in SG mode (I believe this is from lvl 35 up), and there are some reports that your inf gaining reduces the closer you get to 35
    Just test this.
defeat a mob in sg mode, then defeat one out of sg mode... See what you get.
  13. Released from her struggle, Grav turned to [censored] the situation, just in time to see the collapse of Sig.

Just as she cast her Dispersion Bubble she heard several guns powering up.

She remembered the order that had made it through her distracted mind: Countess Crey wanted the Kheldian. That alone would be reason enough to help her.

In this brief moment before the battle, Grav looked around, trying to map the tactical situation.
Whispering to Saphire: "I hope you're ready for a fight"
  14. Great story, excelent screenshots, insanely good staging and use of emotes and timeing... I'm currious how often you guys had to do a specific emote over and over again...

Some other points... the text balloons, I've had difficulty understanding who says what when... (I tried to make this clear in a natural left to right, from up to down order...)

And on Page 3 panel 5 it said: Geiger and Sophie...

I've enjoyed the comic immensly, the excuse... that alone would have been worth a prize...

    [ QUOTE ]
No it doesn't... A mate and I have stuffed a single SG with 7 alts each and we got the 20k for each one. Alts don't matter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Certainly does as far as I've tested, we've been getting the 20k awarded and then immediately revoked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, you need to keep those alts in...
  16. Page unavailable?

    Fix this! *cracks whip*

No wonder I didn't make it even to the runners up...

Or maybe it was that prestige total updated only once every 10 minutes.. have to check again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have noticed a delay in the prestige count on the SG settings screen...
  19. This all started when a fellow roleplayer, The_Jediand, surprised me ingame by stating that character had a copy of a comic based on my character The Grav Mistress.
I was toying with the idea of actually making the comic for about a day when RockJaw posted about the competition.

I started making screenshots I thought might be 'cool' and usefull, but sadly, none were (the later).

I came up with a simple story, and started making screnhots again, this time I made some shots that were usefull.
For my story I needed an ingame mission against a group I haven't battled in a while, and going up against low levels makes it easier to 'stage' a fight, to make screenshots.

Luckily, my good friend FloatingFatMan had just the mission I needed. He volunteered to run it with me, and so we did, and made a lot of screenies.

Then came the time to make something out of the screenshots... Having connection problems prefenting me from going ingame proved a tainted blessing: I couldn't attend the daily RP meet, but I did get to work on the comic.

CatKeeper, who has made a few comics himself, provided feedback and helped me improve my work.
FFM helped with my spelling and his overall enthousiasm was an inspiration.
Thanks guys, it wouldn't have turned out the way it did without you two.

As for the roleplay information... the comic is based on witness accounts, police reports, hearsay and speculation...
This comic takes place in the early career levels of Grav.

But without any further delay, I give you the link to the comic.
The Mistress of Gravity and the Jewel of Hera

The pictures are rather large on screen, but if you print them, they are axactly a A5... therefor if you print them they will only fit 2 on a A4 if your printer can print all the page...
My suggestion, save them to your disk and view them with your favourite viewer.

I hope you enjoyed the comic and drop a line
  20. [ QUOTE ]
firstly im not sure if the 20k prestige thing was just a bonus given out for existing sg's. if it was then you wouldnt get any extra now.. someone else can probably confirm that.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's for all, existing and new SGs

    [ QUOTE ]
edit.. looks like FFM beat me to it anyway

    [/ QUOTE ]
    He's a fast one, isn't he?
  21. Besides, I kicked a toon from my SG just to test i we could get debt... it warns me that any personal item the character owned will be removed (wether it will be deleted or returned to the characters inventory, I don't know)
  22. By the way... This is the first time I see let alone partake in such an adventure...
What are the rules (if any) for inter character talking?

that said... Grav's a little busy, so I'll wait before answering...

    Deleting Bases?

    [ QUOTE ]
If you don't have CoV and aren't planning to get it, why bother about losing prestige when it's only used for bases?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably because of te insane hope that they will wisen up and grant access to CoH only players aswell...
  24. and what you bring is the prestige earning ability... (appart from your personality and such)
  25. As the sound of her own heavy breathing echoed through her helmet, Grav thought furiously on a way to let her other self know she had unfinished business here... unfinished business... That's it!
Sending the image of a dest with a large stack of papers on the left, and a small stack on the right in as many ways as she thought she could, she began to slowly retreat her own tendrils of magic.

From the corner of her helmet's visor, she saw the peacebringer comming her way, and hoped she'd be true to the Peacebringer code of conduct. Through the only instance of a PB going rogue she'd heard of proved false (thank the heavens).
She was in no possition to fight, and Sig was preoccupied...
