bases are part of the expansion, so yes, you have to buy the expansion to use them.
Yep, bases are the only crossover feature introduced with the release of CoV that you have to buy CoV to access.
And if you want to really get angry, there's a very high chance that the software required to enter and use bases is already on your hard drive from the Issue 6 update, and the server simply won't allow you to enter the base because it doesn't detect CoV on your PC.

Do I need To have CoV to enter a base, NOT BUILD, just to enter a base ? Reason for question is I am in a SG that has a base but I cant enter the base, is this a bug ? Am I being FORCED to buy CoV just so I can enter a base ?
