Quote:Media Blitz launching without Media Blitz? Epic fail if true.Eat some Crow? Um.. no.. might want to read again... The Trial itself got pulled for some last minute changes (I expect that Tuesday likely) but you still have a MUCH easier Keyes that offers better rewards, New incarnate abilities, a bunch of power fixes... Yeah.. for a mid-issue release... This is perfectly acceptable.
The only blights are the UI bug and from what I hear the new badge-counter thing is screwed. And Both will likely get fixed by Tuesday I bet. -

For all the people making fun of us complaining about the down time eat some crow! What is the point of this excessive downtime if they are NOT launching Media Blitz?

Quote:I plan on making Key Lime Pie.While I would normally be antsy about having to wait for such a long down time... Today I decided to take advantage of it...
I'm baking cookies! Got Chocolate Chip... White Chocolate Chip... and Oatmeal with Butterscotch morsels...
Been looking for my grandmother's peanut butter cookie recipe but haven't been able to find it yet... so those are pending...
Yes, I plan on passing the down time on a sugar high...
Yummy. -
I would be shocked if Media Blitz is being pushed out today given that there are some unresolved issues.
-
Why do people continue to defend such downtime? It baffles me given we are way beyond the launch of Freedom to be subjected to such crude downtimes which is not the norm.
-
Oh look someone that hasn't been paying attention the last three months with the immense amount of downtime.
-
I agree with the original poster. Why should I continue to subscribe if there is this much downtime?
This is a terrible trend the last two months, and frankly I am starting to weigh my options. -
AR/Sonic Corruptor
Sturdy, AoE scourge goodness, and knockback/knock up galore. -
Quote:I like Stalkers because they remind me of blappers razor edge playstyle in some ways, but they are still capable just like scrappers.Honestly? "Because it's fun". And no, that's not a cop-out answer. It's the only answer that matters. I don't like playing scrappers or brutes, I love playing Stalkers.
If you don't see a "point" in playing stalkers, that's fine. Then there are two other ATs that cater to your tastes better. There's no crime in that, different ATs appeal to different people.
Personally, I wouldn't hate to see stalkers "brought up" (honestly, though, I have no idea what that means) to a level where it's more viable, but I'm really afraid that any changes would just turn it into a vaguely different Scrapper and I really don't want to see that.
I really enjoyed Dominators before the dominator changes. After? Not so much. I'm afraid the same thing would happen to stalkers. The last bout of stalker changes were cool, and more changes that keep the spirit of the stalker alive are fine. But I don't know if I trust that would happen.
Right now, stalkers are fine. They could be better than fine, but they don't need to be. Not at any cost.
My only issue with stalkers is First Ward. Grr. I want to take whoever designed First Ward, strap them into a chair and force them to play through all of First Ward on a stalker. And then make them do it again!
Brutes and Scrappers are pretty much cruise control for the most part, and it starts to bore me.
With a Stalker, I have to change my approach depending on the scenario. Do I want to start with AS out of hide? Open up with another attack, placate, then AS? Or save AS to use before the enemy enters a God Mode? Do I AS the sapper, or the gunslinger?
The tactical and strategic play of Stalker-dom gives me a tingly feeling! -
I like this pack.
*shrugs*
Unless you plan on blowing the temp powers in one day, I do not see it as a poor investment. -
Assault rifle is the master of cones. It doesn't have an identity crisis like energy or rad.

Quote:I agree that AR/Sonic is pretty straightforward.I have an AR/Sonic. You set up, toggles on, shields up, let the ammo fly. If you've got a particularly hard target, toss out a Siphon at the beginning of the fight, and then maybe intermittently during recharge lulls. No redraw to worry about, still works great from range.

Quote:1. That wasn't broken give PGT requires the targets to trigger the trap, and be on top of it as it went off. Not to mention endurance cost and cast time. PGT is no Fulcrum Shift by any measure.1) Traps was broken. Sure it was hilariously fun to nuke a mob every 30 seconds on an ITF with a PGT full of procs, but it was OP'ed - in normal farming the old days, a friends' fire/traps blew every fire/psy doms' times by far because of the nuke PGT. Now tell me that P. Trap is a bad power when a level 20 corr allowed an entire team to use wakies and recover just using that power along ffg because mobs were choking. Remember it does all of these effects on a TWENTY FIVE feet radius:
- Regeneration -10 for 10s PvE only [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs] Effect does not stack from same caster
- RechargeTime -30% for 10s [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]
Effect does not stack from same caster
- +5.96s Held (mag 3) (after 0.25 second delay)
2) Traps starts being effective on SOs, it's kinda lackluster before because the powers take too long to recharge, after that it only grows stronger. Especially after level 30ish when teams (and you) usually pick higher difficulties with pink mobs and whatnot so battles last enough to have your toys ready every mob.
3) Toebombing works a bit well playing aggressively but not for long - you get trip mine at 35, when you can use one or two mines if you get ahead of everyone (as you should as a trapper) but it's not long before the teams are steamrolling and you don't get much use from it.
4) You don't really need Hover if you're playing aggresively because it doesn't take that long to set up your debuffs and they don't interrupt like Trip Mine, summon seekers on top of spawn, lay down pgt and acid when they're tohit and dmg debuffed, there you go, my /dark and /rad don't need to go to melee to do that but they take about the same time to setup say, tar patch, darkest night, fearsome stare for the team. One thing that worked very well for me was SS+Stealth IO + grant invis for the FFG (I was gonna pick some LOTG mule anyway, was surprised how effective it was for laying your traps in the late game when , you're right, some mobs can destroy the FFG quickly - although I'm leveling a new trapper and in the 20s I don't have grant invis or SS yet and have no problem laying debuffs, maybe it's a late game problem as the enemies get harder, I took my fire/traps to 50 long ago)
5) Most corrs that take Mace Mastery do it because of Scorpion Shield and maybe Foc Accuracy (good set mule too), those don't cause redraw (how often do you see them taking web cocoon? And even if they take the crappy pet it takes forever to recharge even in a top build, even web coccon has a hideously long recharge - 32s - for a simple hold so you'd need an IO build to use it every 8 secs,
.
2. /Traps toys are mostly useless 30+ when everyone picks up their nukes, godmodes, has more slots to fully slot their AoE's, etc. Groups move at a brisker pace and the value of Traps drops because of set up time. /Traps is amazing at level 22 with basic IO's compared to /Cold or /Thermal, but afterwards /Cold and /Thermal pick up their heavy hitters and don't need set up as they can use the signature powers with a team moving at a brisk pace while /Traps can't.
3. I agree, which reinforces my second point, which is why Trip mine and time bomb are not really worth it. At least Poison's last two powers have far more situational use compared to /Traps
4. Actually without hover, it takes too long now, especially on steam rolling teams in the 30's. Anyone that has played Traps and hover trapping can tell the difference was far more efficient then compared to now.
5. But why choose /Traps when you can pick up scorpion shield, Mace's web envelope, Mace's web cocoone (AoE) as an epic? /Traps Web Grenade is single target like Mace's web envelope, but Mace has an AoE immobilize while /Traps does not.
Guess what? Both Mace web envelope and Mace web cocoon causes redraw! The horror! -
It was already explained that as each month passes by they will align the PP rewards with the tokens. I received my token last night as well.

Doms don't have Illusion.
Illusion can put out so many "pets" that one of its pets can put its own "pet" out....yeah. -
Quote:I agree with this advice, and I would like to add that, the Aegis psi resist/status unique IO is one of the most efficient investments you can make for any Sonic Resonance builds.First option: you have 3 builds. For suggestion, you could have your tricked out team build, generic IO solo build, and a third build for whatever wacky static team fun you might fun.
You have plenty of resistance based powers you could slot some of the resistance IO uniques such as Aegis psi resist/status to plug that sleep hole in your mezz protection. You can get some sleep resistance from tempest in ranged attacks. Detonation has sleep resistance. I am pointing this out since your big 'hole' is a whopping zero status protection at this point.
