Head Starts usually don't run longer than a couple of days (usually something like a Head Start Weekend). For Going Rogue it was actually one day and was a surprise that wasn't even announced in advance.

Just as a note, you do not need to use Halloween Salvage to unlock the 5th slot. I was working on the Full Circle badge, and got mine while I was switched to the opposing side by running Tailor missions while I was there.

As a follow-up to this story. Seem's the kid's trip is already over. The Libyans did him a favor and banished him.

Besides, you aren't supposed to use sharp edged objects, you're supposed to use a SPOON! (( See earlier responses in this thread )) -
Quote:Ouch! Showing your age bringing up tricks that old, man.1) Grab a high level character with Fly and a ranged attack, preferably AoE.
2) Fly around Atlas Park, wiping out spawns that have civilian hostages. Because the hostages cannot reach you to say thanks, they will trail after you.
3) Flashmob Ms. Liberty.Actually, I don't think that one actually works anymore anyway. Pretty sure the masses of civies died out with the aggro cap. Additionally, with the dynamic spawns in Atlas Park in I21, the number of those "hostage" situations has decreased dramatically.

Quote:That had to be uncomfortable since some her scenes required head to toe coverage. They had to kill her off, sadly the actress developed an alergy to the blue paint.

Quote:Just as a note... If the math looks funky, Houtex used the same starting figures as me (instead of my final numbers) so his final numbers are what is correct.Sister Psyche: 10 + 1 = 12

Statesman: Dead
Citadel: Dead
Numina: Dead
Positron: Dead

Current stats are:
Sister Psyche: 12
Synapse: 10

Citadel: Dead

Somehow this will only seem valid to me if the final stats look like:
Quote:Mister Rogers (in a Blood-Stained Sweater): 30
Sister Psyche: Dead

Statesman: Dead

Quote:As I said note, you ARE aware that they named them "Weekly Strike Targets" (WST) specifically so people would NOT use the abbreviation WTF, right?Ignoring trials, you could run the WTF (weekly task force,) which would drop a notice of the well, which can convert in to threads, and drop a few shards as well. (I don't recall the entire process you'd have to go through to unlock everything.)

I have been intentionally steering clear of the Beta server for the most part. The exception is if I am trying to test something specific to see how it will work under Freedom. The reason for this, is that I want Freedom to still be new and Fresh to me when it goes live (plus I don't really see the point in building up a toon now, and then starting that same toon over again on Live when it launches).
I, however, have been taking advantage of the times when the live servers are down to jump over to Beta and either test stuff or just poke around to see what the future holds. -
I don't agree with the OP, neither his predictions of ghost towns, nor his proposed solution. However, grouping IS going to be a different animal post-Freedom. If you are one who relies on typing "/b LEVEL XX MISH TEAM LFM! Please Send Tell FOR INVITE" to fill your team, it is not going to be optimal (if it ever really was). The number of people who CAN'T "Send Tell" is going to be much greater. Likewise, the various "LFG" private channels will not be optimal either since there will be people who can't see them OR respond to messages on them.
We, as a community, have to train ourselves to make better use of the tools we've been giving, including our search flags, search comments, and yes... the LFG tool for trials. Not doing this is going to segregate a potentially large segment of potential teammates that we won't have access to. -
Why do I see a Darwin Award in this kid's future?

Quote:Ummm.... you did catch the fact that the whole point was to have them running around looking for something that doesn't actually exist, right?Make a warshade, has innate teleport.
Might as well make it a Hide and Seek game no? First newbie
to find it and open a trade window gets some stuff. Next teleport, and clue.
Remember to put search hide on.
As for me, I think I'm going to farm some influence, make a BOTLER-like toon and distribute it to the newbies.
Assuming that we even have an influx of new players...
Sorta reminds me of what I did to someone who was being particularly nagging in Atlas Park once. He kept asking in Broadcast how he could fly. Me, and some others, kept telling him. He kept asking. So, I figured, "Okay, this guy obviously doesn't want the correct answer, so I will just make one up."
I told him it was badge, and what he had to do was to ask someone to teleport him to the top of Atlas and when it says "BADGE EARNED" he had to make the leap of faith and jump off within 3 seconds.
He did, and when he landed with a splat with 1 HP left, he sent me a tell saying it didn't work. I told him he must not have jumped off fast enough so he would need to earn Flight the hard way... and proceeded to give him the CORRECT instructions. He thanked me and we both went our merry ways. -
Quote:Woah! Woah! Woah! What do you mean GIVE them the Daemon Program? SELL it to them!! Remember, give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. TEACH a man to fish and ruin a completely good business opportunity.* Go to the Market and buy as many Computer Virus salvage as you can carry. Give them to new players as they enter Atlas or Mercy... convince them it's a problem that will infect their real life computer without the appropriate patch... When they are at an acceptable level of panic... give them a Daemon Program to "fix the problem"

Quote:Actually, I may have an example for something along those lines which would fit the CoH/V theme and not run the risk of people saying that the devs are just ripping off that overgrown gorilla of a Fantasy MMO....What pvpers in general want is decent competition and to have more people involved. The way I think they should go about it is a goal-oriented pvp variation like capture the flag, where success hinges on completion of the objective rather than simply farming other players. If done reasonably well this would serve as a bridge between pve and pvp and ease the learning curve. Personally I prefer to kill other players, but this is an example of something they should do that would bring more people in.
Picture a Mayhem/Safeguard mission with a twist. The Villains are trying to rob a bank while the Heroes try to defend it. If the Heroes get all of the Villains into the jail at the same time, they win. For the Villains to win, all members of the villain team must enter the bank, get to the vault, and then reach an exit point. -
You guys gonna try to hold the start of the next run until the Freedom release?

Quote:Sy Fy isn't typically the "reshow fan-favorite shows that got cancelled too soon" network. It's more often the "show 3rd rate shows that aren't good enough to be released/made anyway where else" network. Hopefully this new network would be smart enough to know the difference.
As far as a name for this new network it could be something as simple as "ReeVue" or somesuch.
My suggestion for a Second Chance network is a classic example of this...
The Dresden Files
Canceled after the first season. -
Once upon a time, if you were playing an Empathy Defender, what you took as your secondary was irrelevant. People needed you for your Empathy and could care less what your secondary was. They wanted you to have as much healing and buffing capacity as possible.
Those days are gone now, and the pendulum has indeed swung the other way. In fact, focusing on the Empathy side of an Empath is more likely to get you insulted and yelled at than thanked.
I think playing an Empath in the old days was more fun. It was challenging trying to switch targets target quickly to keep a full team of 8 alive, knowing that the Kheldian on the team is dead within a couple of seconds if the group runs into a Void and you aren't on your toes.
Point being, while playing a dual-primary defender may be fun and interesting, I doubt your team would appreciate you. -

Perhaps we should just fight back. Here's the plan... we get together a full team (levels ATs, etc, don't matter). Go through the HOF targeting the farms, go in, click the glowie, and everyone on the team 1-Star the farm with the comment, "Where's the story?"
That should definitely ensure they don't see the HOF list for a while.
