I can do 10 PM. I also have a persona who wouldn't mind doing the Cavern, of you have room still. What time will you start it?
Stalemate, you OK with 10 PM?
Sam Granite - The Liberty League -
Come on Demon Shell and Blazing Blue, TfT allows you time to take a few minutes for this, it isn't as if this will take all night. And Heaven knows I have helped out on plenty of your TFs in the past...

Stalemate, My suggestion is to pick one, whichever one you want, and fill your name in with that one in the appropriate slot. That will make it easier for any others interested to see and pick what slots remain, I think
Sam Granite - The Liberty League -
My alternate persona / ally, Earthfriend, opted not to have Granite Armor simply because I hate the look so much...he looked EXACTLY like every other Stone Tanker out there. Anything that keeps the underlying distinctive look I am in favor of!
Oh, and by the way, Sam IS basically a statue version of his old human self, and yep, he doesn't take naps in the park anymore.

Well, this is the only Arena badge I don't have, and I want to try and earn it the right way, with a true Pentad duel (which I have never been in).
Best way for me to set this up is for me to set it up as an invitational thru the Forums for next Tuesday night, the 29th at 9 PM Eastern.
Fill in which persona you will show up with on the chart (and which team), so we can be ready to go

Hmmmm,
Well, I have to say, I am slightly dissappointed. Those who know me know I really have never farmed anything. Heck, Iwas someone who actually explored new zones to find the Exploration badges. And I always felt a little proud I was making slow but inevitable progress towards the last Influence Badge (I am at 1.4 billion earned) which is pretty good considering I don't farm. I had also reconciled that I was never going to get Empath. My only healing comes from Aid other and Vengence (I opened my healing with it...heh, and am going to respec back into it). I have earned over 13 million in Healing with just those two. Maybe I would in the future get the 50 mill healing, but I wasn't pushing that either.
But it was nice to have an Impossible Dream to keep me going.
But reading about the new Badge downgrade requirements, I will get all of them except Power Liberator. And then all I will have to do is complete the various litany of Day Jobs and....
I'll have 'em all.
So will lots of others. Good for them I guess, I hold no grudges against others getting badges. But few will have earned em the hard way.
But the thrill of finally getting a very hard to earn badge? That seems to be being bred out of CoX. Yes, the kind that takes a year or more to earn my way. The kind that IF you play that long you would get.
I remember chuckling to myself when the Isolator badge became first available again for long time characters by putting the Contaminated guys in the RV Train Station. People camped out there for days, waiting for a spawn that occurued once every two hours. Fine, I thought. I knew I would be going into RV a hundred times over the upcoming few months, and once the rush died down, I'd get it easily, which I did. But I enjoyed when it finally flashed "Badge Earned" on my screen.
Guess my point in closing is there should always be some badges that take some real perserverance and dedication to earn, There still are, which is good. Hopefully there will always be.

Thanx for showing Sooner. I will have to try this again. Not sure, but maybe Thursday at the same time. I would have been there...but accident in a construction zone on my way home from work does screw things up, thus I was 20 minutes late.
Sam Granite - The Liberty League -
The people who are volunteering, I would appreciate if you could fill in your spots on the team so we can see what we still need.
Sam -
Yes, for the purposes of this invitational, I am assuming the bug is still extant, and thus only want the clasees listed
Sam Granite - The Liberty League -
Well, I have always been curious to try this, and so I want to set this up.
Besides, I want the Badge.
So here's the deal. I am setting up a Pentad Arena fight for Monday. I would prefer if it involved some of my old friends and aquantences, and I see us doing this a couple of times, for fun, and of course, for badges too.
I will set it up for 9 PM Eastern, 6 PM Pacific.
I will fill in the slots here, and I do encourage a standby or two, which we can swap in in later battles.

I am interested in this as well. But I don't want to just cheat to get the badge on a Match walkover. I'd really like to earn the badge. You know me, I actually explore new zones to find Exploration badges. So count me in at 6 PM Pacific Thursday.

If it only requires one shot to affect him the whole fight, that would be a pity and too bad at the missed opportunity. I was running this with the impression that the Ray would only affect him for a while, and when that Blue shield appears above him, he has reconnected, gone back to upper power, and needs to be zapped again. That would really encourage team cooperation, for if you use up the gun by everyone firing in an uncoordinated manner, you would lose before the Reichsmann was defeated. We played it that way anyways, so it we DID coordinate who would shoot and when, and it worked out fine.
Maybe its a glitch that it only needs one shot.

But Damage Boosters do NOT boost the effectiveness of Elite Scanners abilty to debuff Defense and Resistance, correct?
I am pretty sure it doesn't, but since it IS a legal Auxilliary for the Scanner, thought I would ask...
Also, anyone have any stats on damage that Base Weapos do, or the effects of things like the Scanner? -
A lot of interesting arcs here I really look forward to trying.
I have in fact tried some.
My arc is "Quest for the Lodestone" Arc ID 109620 (I think)
Looking for constructive feedback and ideas for improvement. Looking to put in a fifth mission probably in between mission 1-2 or 2-3.

In my opinion one fix they definetly need to implement is TP Foe breaks your hide status for stalkers so they cannot TP Foe, and then Assassin strike. Stalkers have stalth at high levels so they can manuever next to unsuspecting targets and then AS them. It should not apply if you throw a defacto attack (And TP Foe is an attack).
If you wanna do the Tport and AS thing, at least you have to be the one putting yourself next to the target, not dragging the target next to you.
Its also a simple fix, and it would help prevent slightly base camping. All to the good. -
Statesman,
If you are discussing putting a personal room for all players in the base (a winning idea, IMO), a couple of suggestions:
Create placeable items based on souvenirs earned by that alt.
Window scenes would be a huge plus
Placards which the players can use to place word text on (example, Stay Out, Danger - Do not Open, Biosample storage unit, etc)
Have absolutely unique items an alt can earn for placement in his room, awarding them on each server say, once a month or so. Better yet, have an auction or first come first serve request to a 'vendor' for such an item, that your graphix guys can design for placement.
You have some kind of 'pets' as a vet reward. Have dogs, cats, birds , etc. be available for the apartment.

Positron,
A couple of comments:
As to Isolator, I for one, though I am a Badge Hound, actually rather like this not being available. It gives younger heroes something us old pros don't have and can't get.
Two, is there any way to change the wording for the Mezz badges. These are the only badges in the game the wording actually makes shameful to hold. In my opinion.
Three, I would simply like to suggest at some point a Badge called Private Eye, as that is what my main persona is.
Four, maybe a Badge for total hours spent in the city....
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response. Keep up the good work
Sam Granite - The Liberty League (Protector)

It is shameful to be held for like 5 hours......that is the point of the badge. I LOVE the wording for the hold badges!! I wish more badges were like that- damage taken badges, "hey way to stand up and BE the target!" and such!
But that is me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. In fact, if I could I would do away with Mezz badges altogether, as it, as you said, is a mark of shame, whereas ALL the other badges are marks of accomplishment. Yes, even the debt badge shows your willingness to fight thru defeat to triumph, becuase it is for debt paid off.
But, since removing these badges isn't gonna happen, I instead have to ask that they not be worded as the only Shame Badges in the game.

OK, that sounds a LOT better than having to make sure someone large contigent is on Every single day during the open window. That would get real old, real fast.
The 2 day window is nice, as it will probably mean you only get raided at most 2-3 times a week in any event. And yes, I understand it is still highliy tweekable
Sam Granite - The Liberty League -
Not brief, but very informative. My thanx Egos. If I could still rate users via stars, you would get 5...
One question though, concerning the Raid window. Is it every single night? Is the window for how long? Or can it be made once a week, or some other period?

A couple of other points from Statesman's Lecture/Q&A at Origins...
1) Concerning the ability to change the color of the effects of your powers, Jack immediatly had this one word answer "Soon". Said farily emphatically.
2) Jack thinks that the Defender AT is working exactly as he wants it to in the context of the game. The impression I got was the other AT's have it too easy in the higher level end of the game though. But I would not expect Defenders to be altered at all.
3) I liked his comment concerning Ghost Falcon: I would replace him with a chalk outline. It isn't that Jack doesn't like stores, he just doesn't like the fact everyone can get the same things at them. If he had to do it all over agin, he would have left all enhancements available thru contacts only, with only certain ones being available thru certain contacts. And not just one kind of origin type, but I got the impression maybe only certain types (like maybe enhanced damage, but no enhanced accuracy).
4) Jack will have less time to think about the game....say in about 7-8 months...

Tal_N,
You are entitled to your opinion. And I am entitled to mine, which is that thier solution is eminently more interesting for gameplay. I have been in PvP online games where people can attack opponents' base of operations without notice or warning. It doesn't work very well. Nothing like logging in and finding your careful work destroyed just because somebody could marshal a large force from Europe to hit your base at 4 AM in the morning when no one is around. Or being the only hero around to defend your base when 20 enemies show up. Neither is satisfying. In fact, they are deeply UNsatisfying.
Scheduling makes it more of an event, and base raids should be events, not random strikes at odd hours.
If you REALLY want to see your way at its worst, go play a free online game called Netropolis. I played it several years ago, and have no desire to play it again. Talk to me again after you have tried that for a little while. Spend a few days building up a syndicate, then enjoy the fun of waking up every morning seeing every property you have burned down or subverted to other players. Despite any defense attempted. Literally the only defense you had was to happen to be on when the coordinated 'attacks' began. It got old, quickly -
I gotta agree with you Ivory. My character is basically made of living stone (he was used as a guinea pig by the 5th Column to see if they could convert a carbon-based lifeform to a silicon-based one), so the Travel Powers never fit into my concept.
Flight? What am I, made of Helium?
Teleport? I'm a Private Eye, not Captain Kirk from the Starship Enterprise.
Superspeed? Since when did you ever see this ability linked to rock and stone?
SuperLeap. Well..I can leap OFF tall buildings and leave a nice big crater, but as I weigh so much more than normal, even my Superstrength can't do much to compensate for it.
So, on the very verge of 50, I have never had a 'Travel Power.' And I get the same kind of comments you must as well. "What, you have no travel power?"
Some nice side benefits...
I make my allies who have Recall Friend feel useful when I am around...(I may not have teleport, but I have no scruples about using the teleports of my allies)
I,like you, get to see the city in greater detail than those who just whisk from point A to Point B. I have been able to aid other heroes in extremis that I might have missed if I were at cruising altitude far above the city...
It made moving around in the Shadow Shard a challenge/game all its own. I have managed to plot out the path all the way to the great and mysterious Storm Palace itself using nothing but the Gravity Geysers.
And it has made getting some of the Exploration Badges a bit...challenging. I do have Hurdle, with 2 enhancements (I DO work out after all) But getting the Ace Badge was a little more memorable becuase I had to plot a way to get up the giant statue, which ain't easy...
I, like you, WILL pick up a Super Vehicle ifn they ever put them out. Something in a nice White Sports Sedan (with a few added 'touches', heh)
So don't feel alone there Ivory. Us true characters support you...
