Quote:OK, so the +to hit stacks... but that's not what 99.9% of players utilize the power for. So, I recind my original comment that it does not stack, as I was responding to what I believed to be the intent of the post, which was regarding the +dam granting aspect of PS.According to my Combat Attribute window, if I fire off one PS, get lucky with a CS recharge and fire off another PS, my to-hit goes from 75 base, to 82.75, to 90.5% after the second use. So it does stack. You can't get more than 5 applications of it at any time though.
Having said that, PS's greatest benefit is to grant KM attacks the ability to generate +dam buffs. Having two PS effects going at once does not allow you to stack more than five +dam buffs at once, nor does it double the +dam buff, and so the greatest benefit is to wait until the current PS is over before popping a second one. -

As Werner said, it's capable of some amazing stuff... however, I admit that my BS/WP made me wish I had made it Kat/WP instead.

Not being softcapped to Melee, let alone AoE, makes this build not awesome.

Quote:Given.Yes, DM/SD wins.
When you are permanently saturating both Soul Drain and AAO. As soon as you lose the fodder, DM/SD's place in the DPS hierarchy changes.
Once you're down to nothing but you and the AV/Pylon/whatever, I rather doubt that DM/SD will retain anything near its topdog status. -
Quote:Also, keep in mind that the buff stacking is only triggered by KM attacks, but once the buffs are in place they will affect any attack. As far as the stacking goes: Each KM attack has a tertiary effect which adds a short damage bonus. These bonuses only activate while you have the Siphon Power active, and you can have up to five of these bonuses stacked at one time. The T9 attack for KM, Concentrated Strike, has zero chance to critical. Instead it has a chance to instantly recharge Siphon Power. Note that Brutes and Tanks don't get this instant recharge chance.

Quote:This. I only had room in my FM/SR for three attacks, and initially used the top chain, then switched to the Incin>Scorch>Cremate>Scorch chain with a purple proc and a ToD damage proc in Scorch. The difference between the two was very low, but I missed the burst damage of GFS in that build, so I went back to the top chain. It's about 11% higher DPS than your current chain, at least unslotted. Slotting may narrow the difference a bit, as your current chain can take slightly better advantage of procs, particularly the purple proc. Plus getting all that recharge may involve compromises,
Werner, if you have the time and gumption, what would be the required recharge and approximate DPS for Incin>Scorch>GFS>Scorch, assuming purple proc + ToD damage proc in Scorch? Alternately, if the needed recharge is ridiculous, maybe Incin>Cremate>GFS>Cremate with purple proc + ToD damage proc in Cremate? -
Yes.
DM/SD has the highest DPS on pylon runs(though DM/SR is still a very solid performer). DM is negative energy, so it is resisted less often than lethal. Finally, who doesn't love an excellent self-heal included in the attack chain to keep you alive and not lower DPS by having to activate Aid Self?
No question - DM. -
If you're looking to farm, I'd suggest not going with DM, which is ST-focused. I would suggest FM/SD for a balance between ST and AoE, or if you want a dedicated farmer, then go Elec/SD.

I generally slot SOs until level 27 when I frankenslot attacks and defense toggles, but here's a sample leveling build to level 36 with SOs (power selection to 47 though).
With /SR toons, I end up playing them as a Blapper early on since they take so long to blossom, and I focus on getting Hasten for rapid cycling of attacks to take out enemies fast and I take the SR Passives as soon as they open up, since their scaling damage resistance helps out greatly before getting your Defenses shored up - this, and the conservation of endurance usage, is why I delayed taking Focused Senses until after Stamina.
If you don't need a travel power, then you could replace SS with Combat Jumping for another Def power and added mobility, or bump other powers forward.

Quote:I'm sorry I wasn't able to answer more promptly, but overtime at work has been killing me this week.Quote:Have you played that build before?
Would I notice a difference from losing 6 hitpoints/sec regen as well as about 200 total hitpoints if I were to go from my build to yours?
Would this build require some endurance help?
Again currently with my build I don't have any endurance issues at all.
Also, how you say in my build my attack chain has gaps and your build doesn't.
Is that more due to your overal recharge rate or specifically the way you have those attack powers slotted? Just wanting some knowledge about how to build attack chains.
No, I haven't played that build, but I have a 50 FM/SR and DM/SD which are both AV-soloers, so I'm quite familiar with how the sets work.
As far as the HP - yes, you're losing HP and a small amount of regen. The HP loss is indeed a drop, but in order for you to have that many +HP set bonuses you missed shoring up other important build points, most notably Accuracy, the global recharge needed to run DM's optimal attack chain, and endurance efficiency. The 6/sec regen won't be noticeable. The 200 HP might be, but only if you get really unlucky with the RNG or fight certain enemies that do non-positional attacks. Over 1700 HP is sufficient to survive AVs and Pylons.
I chose Conserve Power so that the build is endurance sustainable, a key trait to look for in a build designed to solo AVs - what this means is that you can attack indefinitely and not run out of endurance. This would be especially needed if you decide to run FA, which you shouldn't need except in fringe cases or to boost damage slightly due to the GSFC proc.
As far as endurance being a non-issue in your build: In normal missions, or on teams with buffs then you probably didn't have any end issues. The first difference would be that you weren't capable of the optimal attack chain, and secondly, I can't see your endurance being sustainable for a fight that may last up to 20+ minutes of non-stop attacking at the rate your build expended endurance. When I put a Scrapper build together, I always go for a build that is built to do the job solo.
For DM's highest DPS chain, you need 234.2% total recharge in MG. You would add your global recharge to the recharge enhancement in the power to get to that total. In your build, you have only a total of 115.93% recharge in MG, which is significantly short of what's needed. For DM, if you have enough recharge in MG, then by default you'll usually have enough in Smite(184.1%) and SL(116.5%) to run the chain.
Also, if you decided to invest in a purple set, in my build you could replace the 5 Crushing Impact set in Smite with a set of 5 Hecatombs (minus the Dmg IO) to up your damage output significantly.
Hope this answers your questions. -
Quote:The main issue I see is that the accuracy on your build is low - only 69.5% to 77.7% vs. +4. Also, the build you posted has CP already and not FA, so I'm not sure how you're going to even make the changes you've proposed without losing slots somewhere and essentially re-working most of the build. Besides this, you're HP is on the low side for an /SR toon at 1631 with the +HP accolades turned on.Also on a time crunch myself, so I can't explain much either, but here's my plan for my own scrapper once I19 hits.
Except I realize this is an old version and I plan on taking Conserve Power instead of Focused Accuracy, dropping Calling of the Wolf, and taking Assault and Tactics (gaussian goes here!) instead.
@OP: In regards to your posted build, all positionals are not soft-capped, which on a /SR toon should be very easy to do. DA shouldn't be taken on a level 50 build, as you should be able to softcap without it and DA drastically lowers your damage output.
The disorient bonus in GC is not worth slotting, and neither are the FF procs in GD and SD as they do not contribute at all to your secondary since /SR doesn't benefit from +recharge, and once you have enough recharge to run your attack chain getting any more is pointless. With your endurance usage/recovery you're not going to be sustainable for AV fights.
Now that I'm home from work, I'll list the main points of the build I posted, which is capable of AV soloing. It does not include Aid Self, which would be the only thing you could add to the build to make it more survivable. You'll be able to do this when I19 comes out since you'll have extra power picks. As to the build:
- all positionals softcapped
- can run the GD>GC>SD>GC chain gapless
- endurance sustainable
- over 95% Accuracy in all attacks vs. +4
- 1787 HP and 309% regen (23 HP/sec) [with +HP Accolades]
- +95% DDR
- 17.7% S/L Resistance
- has both the Achilles' Heel and Fury of the Gladiator Chance for -Res, which will stack with each other.
- With Super Speed and a Stealth IO in Sprint you can have perfect stealth without the need for the Stealth power pool. (I edited my original post to include the Stealth IO in Sprint and also swap the Red Fortune End/Rech IO in Evasion to the End IO instead.)
If you have any questions, please ask away. -
Quote:Ah yes, quite right. Brain fail.Minor nit ...
Far as I know ALL enhancement values of any sort of enhancement (from TO's to SO's to IO's and HO's) are subject to exemplar scaling per http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Exemplar...n_Enhancements. That includes Purple IOs, PvP IOs and Hami O's.
Quote:My plan for this build is strictly pve. I want my toon to be able to solo the hard ae missions as well as take out AV's so that I can do AV farm missions. -
I'd go into detail, but I am running late for work, so I'll post this build for you to look over. If you don't want to get the PVP IO FotG in GD, you could replace it with a damage proc.

I put this build together for you to look at.
Important points:
- It doesn't use any Purple or PVP IOs
- Softcapped vs. all positionals
- Runs the MG>Smite>SL>Smite chain gapless
- 95%+ Accuracy vs. +4 in all attacks without SD or FA running
- Endurance sustainable without needing DC (which would lower DPS)
- SD is frankenslotted without any damage enhancement so you won't kill your fodder
- 1715 HP (using the Accolades that you had selected on your build)
- 319% Regen (22.8 HP/sec)
- +95% DDR
- 17.7% S/L Resistance
edit: I figured I should go into explaining Hami-Os, since I included them in the build. As far as Hami-Os go, they work like an IO that enhances more than one thing, though they are better in a few respects: they enhance multiple aspects all at the equivalent of an SO (or better in some cases), which tends to allow for higher enhancement values while using fewer slots, and finally their effectiveness is not reduced when you exemplar, like an ordinary IO might be.
In this build, I used an Enzyme in Focused Senses to enhance both the Endurance Reduction and the Defense Buff. In SL, I used Nucleolus to boost both Accuracy and Damage and Golgi to boost both Heal and Endurance Reduction.
I hope this helps.

What are your goals for this build? General PvE, or are you going for AV/pylon soloing? Your Accuracy is rather low, you don't have enough recharge to run the MG>Smite>SL>Smite chain, AoE Defense isn't soft-capped, and your endurance usage is really high.
You seem to have sacrificed a great deal in your build to seek out HP and Regen bonuses. While these do up survivability in an /SR toon, SL covers a lot of your healing at ~40 HP/sec fully slotted for Heal, and sacrificing so much to get HP bonuses is hurting you more than helping. -
-
Quote:I was speaking in general about their usage and not specifically to replace sets, but yeah that too.Or sets in defense toggles. I seem to end up about half and half, but that's not from some a priori plan, but rather just how things come together. Enzymes are good for saving slots, but sometimes you want to spend those slots on set bonuses instead. Membranes in Active Defense are a given, though.
