Power Siphon

Question on this power. I just picked it up last night based on what some people have said as a "must have" and a "must have early" type power. So, I got it at level 10 for my KM/SD Scrapper in Praetoria. Based on what paragonwiki says, this effect will stack up to 5 times. Can someone explain to me what that means when they refer to "stacking" as I am not sure I've heard that term often when describing powers. Also, I have not noticed my enemies life bar dropping much when I use this power with KM. I currently have it slotted with 3 Increased Attack Rates enhancements. And for those that use this power, is it really all that great or did I just buy into the hype?

From what I understand (coming from a person who has read about it, but not yet played the power set yet), it doesn't work like build up. What Power Siphon does, is after you use it, your damage gets higher and higher for each hit you deal to the enemy using kinetic melee attacks (up to 5 times).

But yes, you WANT this power. It is very, very good. It is a set definer, from what I hear.

Power Siphon is amazing. I picked it up on my KM/SR as soon as it was available, and I have yet to regret it having just dinged 25.

As far as the stacking goes: Each KM attack has a tertiary effect which adds a short damage bonus. These bonuses only activate while you have the Siphon Power active, and you can have up to five of these bonuses stacked at one time. The T9 attack for KM, Concentrated Strike, has zero chance to critical. Instead it has a chance to instantly recharge Siphon Power. Note that Brutes and Tanks don't get this instant recharge chance.

Also, keep in mind that the buff stacking is only triggered by KM attacks, but once the buffs are in place they will affect any attack.

And what that link to Paragon Wiki is NOT telling me (at a glance anyway) and to put it in perspective as to why it's a must have asap type power, is that bonus is 31.25%. Stacked 5 times that's a +156% bonus to the damage of any and all attacks you make during the buff duration as Gaidin has pointed out.

'Any and all" not just from the primary pool; so, if I had Air Superiority, the damage buff would apply to that power as well?

And exactly how long is the buff duration?

The power lasts for 20 seconds, and each of the individual stacking buffs lasts for 10 seconds.

So, you'll have damage buffs for about 30 seconds. The first bit you'll have your damage ramping up until you have the 5 buff stack, then it will stay consistent, then after power siphon runs out, the buffs will begin to expire and your damage will ramp down.

Basically, just keep attacking. You might want to monitor your damage bonus under combat attributes to keep track of it.

That would be my understanding and expectation.
