The only leadership toggle I would really consider, and this only if you don't have to drop anything important to get it, is assault. It's only 10.5% damage, but that's still actually a noticable amount. Maneuvers on a scrapper is an utterly negligible 2.275% defense, which will make effectively no difference in 99% of cases. Tactics is 7% tohit, but honestly if you've slotted your powers decently, you shouldn't have a problem hitting most opponents.

Moment of glory and IH, on the other hand, are extremely strong buffs, even if they aren't up all the time. MoG is 15 seconds of effectively complete invincibility - you can take any alpha with that tool. IH is your 'godmode' - it takes a heck of a lot of damage to kill you while that's running. Both are integral componenets of any /regen build.
I disagree. Maneuvers is the only Leadership power I'd consider taking, and in fact, for a while I had it. It's 2.275 enhanceable -for all the good that does, I know- and I had the slots to spare. It allowed me to push my /Regen build up to ~30% to Ranged and AoE defense, which is far more useful to me than 7% tohit or 10.5% damagebuff.

    1) Has anyone seen or read a comic in which regeneration is a self created green glowing effect? I cant think of any, maybe there is one or two, but mostly the holes just close up.
In Enchanted Arms, Devil Golems' regeneration is depicted as glowing runes, and then the creation of whatever part was missing. One such Golem has a yellowy-green glow.
  3. I was under the impression that this was a little bit unnecessary, 'cause all you really need to know is that "Primary/Secondary" wins.
  4. Short answer: Yes. It's out of the question.

Long Answer: Scrappers get the lowest modifiers on pool powers. Assault and Tactics are a waste in that regard.

Also, Moment of Glory and Instant Healing are two of your primo damage-management tools. Like, they save lives. Seriously.

It's good you came and asked questions, though. Welcome to the Scrapper forums. We're kinda awesome, and it rubs off on everyone we know.

A most intrinsically important aspect of the human condition is our ability to damn ourselves. I don't necessarily mean in the biblical sense of being sent to Hell afterwards to suffer for our misdeeds so much as I mean the ability to face a dilemma and both consciously and willingly make the wrong decision. This is a crucial aspect of humanity.

Consider: the ability to morally ‘fall’ comes hand-in-hand with the ability to do the right thing. Morality is a judgment on actions. If you cannot make the wrong action, than you cannot make the right one either, and so nihilism quite literally sets in.

And so, with that in mind, I arrive to the question the OP presented: if we had the ability to suddenly advance our society to a Utopian level, should we? The answer is no, for a very simple reason. Utopia is, by definition, the pinnacle of civilization, and the challenge is getting there. If we jump to the end, then our society is like an athlete pumped up on steroids: the muscles are big, but there’s no strengthened body to support it. Likewise, if we as a race cannot manage to universally better ourselves, then anything we’re given is worthless because we won’t be able to hold onto it.

Excising all the bad aspects of humanity does not make them an inherently good people. Good people are those who acknowledge their flaws and overcome them. Striping the flaws away doesn’t make them less flawed, just less human.

Them's fightin' words, boyo, and while you're in the right place for that, you're like to find you're a wee bit outnumbered.

That wasn't Starsman over at the Tanker Forums, was it? I was reading a thread of his the other day, and he kept refering to some numbers like those.

More recently, another dev (Back Alley Brawler, I think) explained that there were originally going to be sharks surrounding the Isles that would attack swimmers. This is why he's appeared on Test a couple of times as a shark.
The mechanic exists. If you swin south long enough, you'll zone from Peregrin into Talos.

Me neither. Combat was generic, customization was a joke, and the world was about as immersive as closing your eyes and saying to yourself "It's a fantasy world! Really!" I once again resign myself to the fact that no game will ever be what Everquest was back in the beginning, though Everquest 2 got pretty darn close for a little while.

At the OP: I tend to play games in spurts. I'll play through something, switch to a different game, and then play through it, repeat ad infinitum. Big offenders for being played are Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, and Ninja Gaiden.

Ah, well, that's probably a large part of your mistake right there. /Regen doesn't benefit much at all from more regen. What really lets us shine is mitigation from other sources, like positional defense, which gives time for the regeneration to more fully heal back any damage we've taken, and more recharge, which let us use our powers faster.

    Regen Scrapper

I don't have time for a detailed run-through, but just from looking over it quickly...

    1. If this isn't a respec build (a build you plan on 'speccing into after twenty or so levels), you can push Fitness and Fighting pools back. Like, into the 30s. Use the free space to take some of them attacks.

    2. You've got the Leadership pool. It looks like you're taking throwaway powers here, but that's some horrible bang for your buck. Scrappers have the absolute (I believe) lowest modifier on buffs, and so we put up horrible numbers with Leadership. Manuevers is the only one of those powers you might consider taking.

    3. Where the devil is Moment of Glory?! Take it at 38, no excuses.

Blue Skin and 'None' Hair gets a special mention. Through no specific intent from myself, for several years I didn't have a character over level 25 who wasn't blue-skinned and bald.

  24. I have an interesting problem, that I don't think anyone else has mentioned.

I love the mechanics of this game. I love how it's built, and I love how much customization you can put into a character. Everything is, by and large, unique, and that's a good feeling.

However, there are times when I can't help but hate the world we're in, because it's just a city. Super-powered stuff goes on in it, but at the end of the day, it's just a city, in a state, on the coast. I could Mapquest that ****.

What I miss in CoX is the feeling of exploration. Sam mentioned it earlier when he said most MMOs go for a Mideval Simulator approach, and that he wanted some High Fantasy goodness. I agree. I miss that feeling of wandering through the wilderness of Gods Know Wherever, searching a world that felt massive. For example, back in the day, if you wanted to get from one side of Norrath to the other, you were going to spend several hours doing it, and it was quite dangerous. And you walked the entire distance.

Because I miss that feeling, my characters largely reflect characters you'd find in a fantasy setting. Oh, they may be modernized in some way, or interact with the lore a little bit, so they've got a reason to hang around, but if you pulled my characters out of this game, and through them into Ye Olde Adventure Land, they'd fit in just as well.
