You might want to forget about the Holy Trinity gameplay. In fact, forget everything you've learned.
Not ... QUITE... everything. But close.

Four Tanks and two Defenders? Good team.
Six Blasters? Risky, but good team.
    Six Defenders? Steamroller.

    Anything works.

One of the big gameplay changes is that buffs and debuffs are HUGE. The example I always give- not because it's the best, just because it's the easiest to explain- is Force Field defenders. A level 17+ FF defender can give 45% Defense to the entire team, which [due to weird math, available on request] drops the amount of hits on the team by a factor of TEN. Every Blaster's a tank now. . . as long as they stay near the FF defender, and the FF defender remembers to rebubble everyone every four minutes.

which is the most populated server?
I'm going to say something that sounds counterintuitive: The most populated zone, in the most populated server, is Atlas Park on Freedom. STAY AWAY FROM ATLAS PARK ON FREEDOM. It's a terrible place that will give you the wrong idea about the game.

This is a game where you can enjoy playing from level 1 to level 50, and on to the Incarnate stuff. (The mapsets are a little repetitive, and if you don't read the flavor text you're missing half the good stuff.)

Freedom/Atlas Park is full of people begging to be powerlevelled, people offering powerlevels for in-game money, and the usual variety of cretins with megaphones that you get anywhere that a lot of people gather in an MMO.

The game isn't like that! Use "/chanjoin N P C" to join a global channel full of people that love to help new kids.
  2. I'm perfectly clear on the difference between "What price would you pay" And "What price would you prefer to pay."

Before the incarnate trials, if I wanted a circuit board immediately, it normally had cost around 500 if I wanted to wait or that much or slightly higher if I wanted it immediately. It did not cost 200 times the amount.
I don't recognize 500 as a 'typical' price for circuit boards, recently or ever, and I've been buying them almost every week since issue 9 went live.

But my data from 2007 (the couple of weeks I did the Stock Report) didn't bother measuring prices for anything under 10,000 inf average. And there was 1/20 as much inf in the system back then, or less.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE A HINT FROM THAT.

    88s assemble!

... we'll burn a hundred million inf to prestige for your SG?

    That could work!
  5. All my flammable inf is going to my other impractical projects at the moment- but I will do this again, and soon! Promise.

    Tanker Question

I did see an Invuln tank who'd taken Provoke instead of Taunt- but she also took the AOE Fear down at the bottom of the Presence Pool. It worked pretty well.

Yeah, but I was trying to cut off the "I ran out of cooossttuuummme changes, I can't use all my cooosssstuuummmes, you're meeeeeaaaan and it's a traaaappp"* complainers.

    * I am mean. It is a trap. I do want you to burn inf by the wheelbarrowload. But it's also a clever workaround.

    88s assemble!

Yeah! We're winning! For now; we were ahead by 12 billion inf* on the 13th and they caught up .

    * Or equivalent in actual playtime. I suppose.
  9. WARNING: This could get expensive, depending on what you consider "expensive".

So this isn't new, but it's new to me. You can get three extra costume slots from doing tailor missions. Check. You can get one by buying Halloween salvage and turning it in. Check.

BUT if you want more than that: You can save your costume at the tailor, then change to a new one [and save THAT.] You can make as many saved costumes as you want, then when you want a costume that's not currently in your closet, you can go to Icon and swap it in.

It costs a couple million inf to change your costume at level 50, but you can now have all the costume slots you want!
  10. I would like to repeat that I can get my salvage (generally within a five minute wait) at 55K or less.

I invite the OP to consider how long it takes to make 100K vs. how long it takes to exemp down and hit zombies in Dark Astoria till you get what you want.

You are drawing a distinction between the price you WOULD pay for an item and the price you did, in fact, actually pay?

I feel like I just had a breakthrough in communication in this thread.
  12. How much would you, EmperorSteele, pay for an inspiration, one-use, that gives +1 level for 3 minutes?

More or less than for a piece of iSalvage?
  13. 85 a day divided by 85,000 players, 10% of whom play two 50's each = ... errm, 200 days?
  14. Ways of finding teams that don't really work in this game at this time:

    1) Standing in zone broadcasting LFT: Works for the first few levels, or in Atlas on Freedom, but at some point it falls by the wayside.
    2) Joining a SG: Admittedly I haven't done this as much as others have, but I was in a fairly big VG on Freedom at one point (possibly a Top 20 one) and there were a few people to chat with, even a couple people that would hop on with me. But it wasn't like Instant Social Group or anything.
    3) Putting your "LFT" flag on and waiting.

Things that have worked for me:
    1) Make and keep friends. If you're on a PuG and six people suck and one is pretty good, see if they're willing to be global friends. [Don't take "no" answers personally. Some people's global friend lists are full already, for example.] If your friends have friends, you play with them a few times, you get a social group that way.
    2) Global Channels. This is pretty big, really. Different servers tend to have different channels associated with them, but I can be on [say] Freedom and if "Victory Badges" announces they're starting something cool, I'll see it and hop over to Victory for it.
    3) The Forums- you're here, right? Head over to /Servers/Union, see if there are scheduled events or whatever. If not, try scheduling one! "Back to back Sister Psyche/Citadel, Friday 8 PM GMT" or something.
    4) It doesn't work always, or even most of the time but , if you ask politely, you can sometimes get an invite to an existing team. The phrasing I used to use, (it helped that I was playing Force Fields and could defense-cap the Blaster I was asking) is "Does your team have any use for a level 26 Shield/Fire tank?" As Adam Smith says, the butcher and the baker feed you not out of the goodness of their heart, but for their own advantage. Let them know what you can do for them.

    88s assemble!

    We're #2 on Virtue.

    This will not stand!

*looks left, right* Right? Err, right?

    Guys?
  16. 'Strue. People WILL complain about anything. It took about three months after they changed Stamina to give more endurance (issue 5) for people to complain that Stamina should be an inherent power.

I'm waiting for the post-inherent-Stamina complaints to start.
  17. Neo:
    1) The OP is asking, not demanding.
    2) Some people do try to return inf on misbids. It doesn't often work, but it's not completely ridiculous.
    3) If you're going to be a jerk, have the courage of your convictions. Getting defensive and backing down just makes you look worse. Compare "I would rather burn my inf than give it to you, and I'm not sorry. Here's the SG I started to burn inf instead of giving it to you. #1 on two servers! And counting." to "I would rather burn my inf than give it to you. I'm sure you're a nice person, and all, but I just can't right now."
  18. Still got 2.5 billion inf lookin for a home.
  19. So Steele: What price for a common would make you go, "Nine hells yeah, I'll sell you all of mine for that price?"

Because I think that's really a minimum here. The price where people will go out and farm more than what they want for themselves.
  20. It's not like making money on the market's so tough we have to scam each other for every last half-billion.

Please take this question as analytical and not rhetorical:

Why are you playing a game you do not seem to enjoy?
  22. EmperorSteele: I think your price points are really low, because I don't think you're a typical consumer. I'm not a typical consumer either- I'm probably not going to run my first trial until August- but I'd be willing to pay an awful lot more than you would. This makes me a buyer and you a seller.

Think about it- if a Common is worth half a million to you and 10 to 100 million to the other people in this thread, you're gonna sell them without blinking. Just like when i get an Alch Silver drop, the first thing I think is not "That's going into an Accuracy IO."
