    @Frozen -

I'm n00b with my highest toon not quite 40 yet. I really appreciate all the good advice in this guide. I have spent minimal game time on trying to make Inf, but what I picked up here has helped me afford all the IO sets I really wanted to get, while still having 15M in the bank. Not bad considering I had only a few 100K and no understanding of Wents before I read the guide. Thanks!!!

Just curious... based on some of the sell rates/prices you noted, you must have amassed a staggering (to me, anyway) amont of Inf. You can only spend so much on IOs and costumes before you're decked out as much as you can be. Once that's accomplished, what do you do with all that Inf?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh.....Influence will never dry up in CoH, and you will always want more. Once you hit lvl 50, eventually you will want to try something else out. What I do is roll alts and deck them out starting around lvl 15 or so. Having your first lvl 50 be your "Sugar Daddy" is a NICE plus to rolling brand new alts. I may not be the richest hero in CoH, or even the top 100 richest at that, but I CAN tell you I have made pretty close to 1.5billion from just the market and have 7 alts completely decked out with I/Os from lvl 24+.

Keep raking in that influence while you can, you will need it "sometime" down the road.....Trust me.

PS....Pre-Gratz to your first lvl 50!
  3. Bumping this thread up a bit. Lots of new forum users posting lately and starting threads about easy ways to gain influence.
My guide has helped many, many, many players and I hope to continue giving more advice.

Check all the pages for all the updates that have been made in the past. Everything in this thread still works on a daily basis, you just have to be a little more patient with some of the tricks more than others.

The market is a bit harder to play now than it was when it first went live, but there is still influence to be made. I will post more updates as soon as I can verify that they work.

Your friend in the money making business,

  4. Things I would like to see/change:

    1) Talking with MANY SG/VG Leaders, this idea would benefit EVERYONE in these groups. Create some sort of "station" (floor stand, computer, wall mounted Calendar, etc.) where the SG leaders can post things like SG Team Days, Base Raids, TFs, Current Events, etc... It would be readable by ALL SG members and *Coalition members *(by option of course)* by simply walking up to the "station" and clicking on it.

This would be a very nice option to have, as it keeps everyone in the SG in the loop of what is going on. It could be just like the SG Description page, but allow MUCH more room to type things...Say 2000 letters max. (just an example)

    OR

Have a calendar where we can post things in each day of the week...SG Leaders can post events for any day they choose, and maybe even allow Members to "Sign up" for each event as well. That way the SG Leader has an idea as to how many people will attend, are interested, etc...

Basically this would be like a "mini" SG website within CoX.

    2) Allow all things like Arcane Blocks (Stone, Cracked, Mossy), Arcane Altars, Book Cases, etc... to be stackable. I like to do things like put plants, torches, Glass SG Stands, etc.. on top of these. The way it is now, we have to stack desks up to the desired level and place items on top of them. Then we have to remove the desks and "slide" the Arcane Blocks underneath to give us the look we want. Save us all many hours by allowing us to stack things from the get go...instead of workarounds.

    3) I would LOVE to see some Chandeliers introduced into bases. I want me a huge bulky chandelier (rustic/antique looking) to go along with my Arcane style base.

    4) More tabs in the base builder that have more preset options...Like a tab all by itself for "Lettering". Instead of having to create letters from many vents, allow us to choose letters from this menu and place them on the walls.

    More Ideas coming soon........
  5. **UPDATE**

Rare Arcane Invention Salvage…Keep or Sell?

Looking at the Market today, you may have noticed how almost all rare invention salvage (arcane) has fallen to its lowest points ever thus far. Examples: Soul Trapped Gems selling for 1-1.5mill tops, Hamidon Goo and Essence of the Furries selling for under 2mill…The list goes on.

Now you can take those nice “hard to come by” rares and sell them, still making a “decent” amount of influence from them, but wouldn’t you rather still get more bang for your buck out of them?…I sure would, and I can tell you how!

Say for instance you get a Soul Trapped Gem drop while street sweeping Dark Astoria…Your first thought is to sell that bad boy, but slow down slugger…you can do even better! Now here is where you need to think “outside the box” for a moment. You just received a rare piece of salvage for “FREE”, didn’t cost you a dime, I’ll emphasize again…”FREE” Now, do some research on wiki or other websites that will give you a list of all recipes and what salvage is required to craft them.

Example: Touch of Death: Chance for Energy Proc. This recipe requires a Soul Trapped Gem to craft it, as well as some inexpensive pieces. Now go to WW’s and place some lowball bids for that recipe (say 100-200k). It may take a while, sometimes 1-2 days or more, but remember… BE PATIENT. Once you have obtained the recipe and the salvage, go craft it. Now lets take a moment to add this up.

    Estimated Costs
200k-Recipe: Touch of Death: Chance for Energy
15k-Salvage needed to craft the I/O
    75-150k – Crafting Cost

Worst case scenario from this example, you will spend around 375k-400k to craft that I/O. As it stands right now, this particular I/O is selling for (average for all levels of this I/O) roughly 3-4mill.

Now which is better? Selling the Soul Trapped Gem for 1-1.5mill…or selling a crafted I/O using that Soul Trapped Gem and making 3-4 mill?

There are MANY recipes out there that require rare salvage to make, and instead of holding onto them, they sell those recipes for DIRT CHEAP.

Moral of this Update: Next time you get a rare salvage drop, think about holding onto it for crafting reasons and make yourself some extra cashflow on the market!

I’m Frozen Horizon saying: Craft – Sell – Make Money!

Tune in next week to learn how to bake an Apple Pie using Arcane Powder and Pangeon Soil!
  6. Sorry for the late reply, but you are right on the money with the "be patient" part of your post.

Take your time and look around for the better deals, and you will maximize your profits.

I don't mind posting hints/tips in my guides, because If I can help out 1 person every now and then, I feel good about myself and what I have done.

I will be posting more updates soon....STAY TUNED!

improvements to Speedboost aside (oh how I'd love that) the question still remains: how would clicking the power 2 minutes later improve over starting it now? I'm not seeing any difference.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You could craft it ahead of time and store it for when you need it.

Or craft and use one now, and have another waiting for when it wears off.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a very good idea. That would definately make base salvage more active....kinda like how the market is now. Give us a good use for it, people will use it to death. Soon there would be more of a demand for base salvage at WWs too.
  8. **UPDATE**

    [u]The Buddy System[u]

This method is not for everyone, but it sure does work wonders for me!

    Requirements:
1 mission that is "farmable" (preferably arcane drop based)
    1 level 47-50 hero/villain
2 CoH/CoV accounts....(1 main account and 1 trial account will do)
(Optional) When your buddy logs off for the night/day/lunch/etc..., invite him to your team and have em afk in the SG base.

Step 1: Invite your 2nd account to your team, or your buddy, or both.

Step 2: Set your "farmable" mission and enter it with ONLY your main Farmer. (2nd and 4th mission difficulties are better)

Step 3: Once inside your mission, the spawn size should be "bigger"....especially if you have your 2nd account and your "buddies" account on your team. **Thus, increasing the chances for drops**

Step 4: For optimum Influence/Infamy gain, run out of SG mode during the whole mission.

Step 5: Run through the mission arresting everything in sight, and collect those PHAT Recipes/Arcane Salvages all for yourself! (Just remember, do not complete the main objective of your mission.)

Step 6: When finished, exit the mission and reset it.....Then do it all over again, and again, and again.

Once you have your salvage/recipe trays full, here are your next options:

*Sell all common I/O recipes to NPC's to recieve the full amounts. (75k-100K+ influence per recipe) Selling at WW's may not yield you as good of results as selling to the NPC's.

*Sell off your salvage at WWs....some of the more common salvage you can make more by selling to the NPCs as well...Results will vary.

*Set I/Os......Any of the "very common" sets, sell to the NPCs. (Trap of the Hunter, Essence of Curare, etc...) Any GOOD Recipes you get, either sell them....OR....Craft them and place them in the market for sell.

Basically....all you are doing is setting yourself up to get bigger spawns, thus increasing the "drop rate" of recipes/salvage....while gaining "FULL INFLUENCE" for each kill (not partial like on a team)

**Remember...your 2nd account and/or your buddies account NEVER enter the mission at any time.**

I personally have been testing this now for quite a long time, and It works VERY WELL. I use my Ice/Fire/Pyre Tanker and AoE the mobs to death, making quick work of everything. With my mission set up for 2 players, I can rake in around 15-30+ salvage and 10-20+ recipes per run. With it set up for 3 members, It is not uncommon to almost fill up my salvage storage before the mission ends.

Between running out of SG Mode to gain Influence and selling salvage/recipes after every mission, I can EASILY profit 3-6 million....if not more per run.

Some missions I can get 2 Rare Salvages which sell for 2-5million, or a good Crushing Impact or Doctored Wounds recipe that I will craft and Sell for 2-4 million.....Which in turn can make your profits SKYROCKET!!!!

Its not uncommon for me to profit 10-15 million if I get some good drops in one run. An average run takes me 20-30 minutes to complete.....3-15 million for 30 minutes is pretty good profit if you ask me.

Thanks for the guide, Frozen! I have a 50 blue side, but for my budding new villain, this has helped a lot. At lvl 6, he had over 60k just from buying salvage and selling it for profit at stores.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have found this the best way to get started on the Red side as well....especially if you dont have a Sugar Daddy to help with funds.
  10. Love the Vampire theme!!

Very nice base and well thought out rooms.
  11. That is a very cool setup ya go there......Kudos!!!!

The decoration/lighting really sets the mood of it being a night/dance club.

    Very well done!

    LOL...jk

No, this guide is really just me trying to help out others with some money making tips....thats all. Its nowhere near all the stuff I know, but Im sure this guide alone has helped a few heroes increase their income.
  13. Nice guide...Very informative.

I have a lvl 28 Necro/Dark (just dinged tonight) and I'm loving her.

The is nothing like rushing into a group of 4 in BG Mode and standing there waiting for them to attack me.....Its funny to watch all the Henchmen go NUTS and pinball back and forth smacking/vomitting/etc...all over the place!!

I cant wait to get Fluffly at lvl 38.....Between Myself, Lich, and Fluffy, there will be many holds, immobs, and -acc.

I cant wait to fight an AV with both of them.....With 3 of us, we should be able to hold/immob/-acc AVs if we dont get wiped out first.
  14. I have been poking around here lately and have not been working the market very much...I petered myself out and now Im starting to get back to it. I still do my other tricks that work, but only rarely.

I will be posting some updates soon....stay tuned!
  15. HI guys....

    Just got back from vacation.

Lemme guess...while I was gone, they made a patch that made the memorized Common I/Os non-profitable now?...at least that is what I just read from your post there.

I hope not.....If so, I still have more tricks up my sleeve....unless those got taked away too.

Here is to hoping not.....Logging on to find out in a bit...time to unpack.
  16. I do both actually, I farm mishs with my Main for a few hours, then craft and respec with mules. Im doing the best of both worlds currently and lovin it.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
So..when you get a vet respec...that means for every alt you create after you recieve the vet respec starts with a respec??? I did not know this....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure does my friend...Once you get your 6 Month Vet Reward, you can create as many alts as you like and you will get 1 respec per alt. Same goes if you get the 24 Month Reward, then you will start all new alts with 2 respecs.
  18. Good work and nice base.

The added "funny" stuff was quit amusing too.
  19. Yup....but in my situation, I farm a mish over and over....I craft everything I get my hands on and then roll a mule.

In theory, yes you want to max out your profits with the best....but I can craft 30 I/Os of any sort faster than I have to wait for 30 ACCs...If ya know what I mean.

Either way, you still get a lot of profit out of them.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Wouldnt it be better to just find the most expensive common IO to craft and make a ton of those instead of making different kinds?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not really actually, because you dont wont to have to spend much to buy a recipe....and you wont get 10 Health Recipes in a row from street sweeping/missions/farming etc...

The best way would be to craft EVERY I/O you can get your hands on from drops. They are free to you and the salvage to craft em is very minimal. If you just start buying your recipes from WW or the tables alone, you start dipping into your potential profits.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Is there something I'm doing wrong though? Is there any way I could speed up this process. I think what took the longest was actually getting the alt to level 3 which was an excersize in frustration cause I hate soloing the low-lvl content.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Here is my suggestion....Dont do the Game Content period. You are making a "Resped Mule" for the influence, not story arcs. Running from one mish to another is making you lose ground, and the XP you get for the mission complete bonus is minimal at those lvls anyway. Start out in Atlas at lvl 1 and street sweep around the Sewer Entrance area until you hit lvl 2. Go get your next attack power and street sweep the same spot until you hit lvl 3.....10 minutes tops!

With my newly posted guide, you would then go to your SG base and take 10 I/Os from the Storage Bin and do your Respecs. From your last post, it sounds like you have 3 Vet Respecs. Respec'in using my newest update can net you an approx. average of 2mill per Respec....So...If you craft 30 Memorized Common I/Os and put them all in your Bin, Roll an alt to lvl 3 and do 3 respecs...

An estimated total of 6mill profit.....not bad for rolling only 1 alt.

You can do this at your own leisure too....Run 3-5 missions or street sweep, then craft all your Memorized Common Recipes and dump them in your bin. When you get bored one day, just roll an alt and respec some cash.....ITS THAT EASY!!

No grind involved at all...you just have to spend the initial influence to get those Recipes memorized, then go at your own pace.
  22. **UPDATE**

[u]Veteran Respecs Part II: Recipe Memerization[u]

Here is the rundown up front:

*Memorize as many lvl 45-50 Common Recipes as possible (If not all) on your main Crafter. ##THIS IS A MOST TO OPTIMIZE THIS GUIDE AND YOUR PROFITS##

*Pick up lvl 45-50 Common Recipes at WWs for dirt cheap -OR- run missions and SAVE the Common Recipes you get from drops.

*Craft your recipes for HALF COST since they are memorized and store the new I/Os in your Enhancement Storage Bin in your SG base.

*Create an alt and roll him to lvl 3. Now go to your base and pick out 10 of your I/Os and do a Respec. **VET RESPEC IS REQUIRED**

*You get FULL CRAFTING PRICE REFUND for crafting it for HALF PRICE!!!!

    *Rinse and Repeat.

    EXAMPLE:

Say It costs 400k to craft a lvl 50 Accuracy I/O. If you have that Recipe memorized, It will only cost you 200k to craft. So if you take 10 lvl 50 ACC I/Os and do a respec, you will get PAID IN FULL 400k per I/O.

In other words, you spend approx. 2mill to craft 10 I/Os and get 4mill back from your respec. Good deal huh?

The good thing about doing it this way is that your crafter will have more influence to craft any Common I/O you want. You can craft to your hearts content, and fill up Storage Bin after Storage Bin with those I/Os. Then take time every now and then to Roll a lvl 3 alt and Respec out the cash. This way it doesnt really feel like as much as a GRIND as the other way does. Plus, with many of you knowing about the WWs I/O Respec trick, those I/Os are becoming VERY SCARCE! Doing it this way, you dont have to search WWs for I/Os and is a SURE WAY to make money anytime you feel like it....or until they try to nerf it somehow.

Just remember, the more Recipes you have memorized, the more "variety" of I/Os you can craft for 1/2 cost. If you have them all memorized, then your good to go.

Your Friend in the money making industry....

    FROZEN
  23. As an example, today I took 2 new alts to lvl 3. Now here is the funny part.

Just for giggles, I sent out a broadcast saying: "Anyone have 5000 influence they could spare a poor white guy?....I will return the influence owed 10x within the next 10 minutes"

A fellow hero under atlas broadcasted back and said: "Ill take that challenge!"

So he gifted me 5k and I said: "Be back in 10 mins flat"

I went straight to WWs and opened up the Crafted I/Os page and went straight to the lvl 45 Common I/Os. I scrolled down to the "Disorient Duration" I/Os....Selling for 300 a peice.
Bought 8 for 300 and 2 for 350...A total of 3100 influence. I then headed straight for G-City to cash in my first Vetran Respec.

Boom.....An instant 1,734,000 influence. Ran straight back to Atlas WWs and bought 10 more of the exact same...all for 400 inf this time for a total of 4000 influence.

Went back to G-City and burnt my 2nd respec....Boom....Another instant 1,734,000 influence banked.

Then I ran back to Atlas to repay the good willed hero back his 50,000 influence I promised him.

I finished in under 9 minutes doing both respecs. With leveling my alt up to lvl 3, It took me roughly 12 minutes to do so. Overall est. time: 21 minutes to profit over 3.4mill **I rolled a fire/energy blaster**

After that run, I deleted him and rerolled again. Respec'd 2 times selling the exact same I/Os as the first 2 respecs. 1,734,000 influence both times again.

Grabbed an SG mate and transfered to my lvl 32 Fire/Energy tanker and was over 6 million influence richer!

This can be done very easily...You just gotta take that little time to do it. Badgers and Crafters stock up WWs with these I/Os and sell em cheap....Take advantage of it.

Your Good Friend in the Money Making Business.........
    FROZEN.

Good catch.....another Brain fart at the early morning hours.

    Edited so to not confuse.

  25. [u] **UPDATE** [u]

    (7-10-2007)

I know some people have held this a secret for a LONG TIME until as of recent....peterpeter has discovered a little known trick that some of us have already uncovered BUT chose not to post in the forums. Basically it boils down to this...When you sell off Common I/Os in a respec, you will recieve the full amount it would normally take to craft the I/O, basically anywhere from 90k-400k per I/O. Now that this is out in the open....I have decided to add this into my guide to help out others.

[u] VETERAN RESPECS AND FREE RESPECS [u]

    1) Create a new Hero/Villain alt and level it up to lvl 3.

    2) Go to WWs and place lowball bids on lvl 50 crafted I/Os (Common I/Os not Set I/Os)

    3) Get a full tray of I/Os in your enhancement tray. **This may take some time to get full trays...Place low bids and check up a few times a day, when full...proceed to the next step.)

    4) Now....use your VETERAN RESPEC and Sell off all I/Os you bought for very cheap at WWs.

    5) Take your profits and have a friend/SG mate do an Influence Transfer to your main Hero/Villain.

    6) Rinse and Repeat as many times as you want.

TIP: If you have say....5-10 open slots on your main server, Roll 10 alts and set em all up to do this. You will get around 1-3 mill per Respec per Alt. Getting an alt to lvl 3 takes what....5-10 mins?

Roll em, Buy I/Os, sell em off, transfer to your Main.....

I hope this helps anyone seeking a get rich scheme because......THIS ONE REALLY WORKS!
