But...how can you have a live action movie based on the Battleship board game where the battleship sinks but nobody ever says, "You sank my battleship!"? I don't understand this...it doesn't make any sense.

I own two full sets of Maximum Carnage (not TPB mind you). The series was so popular it even spawned it's own video game adaptation released for the then popular SEGA Genesis and Super Nintendo.

I... *ahem* sorry, my nerdrage kicked in and I felt I needed to defend something I loved from my childhood... I think I had and was trying to make a point, but then my ADD kicked in...

I think I'll go read Maximum Carnage now.

  4. My very first comic book that I can remember reading was The Human Fly. I have no idea what issue it was. I destroyed that poor book I read it so many times.
  5. Don't forget the quick Danny Glover cameo in the Mel Gibson version of Maverick. Great eye contact with a WTF look and Lethal Weapon jazz riff.

Yeah. Don't give customizable power sets to henchmen. That would be ridiculous. Just new models that can selected from a drop down in the power customization screen. I'm not even looking for the ability to adjust henchmen costumes in any way (not even colors, though if they could pull that off I wouldn't complain at all). Just give us some henchmen options.

    Mercs:
    PPD
    Malta
    Knives of Artemis
    Longbow
    New Original

    Bots:
    Clockwork (Primal)
    Clockwork (Praetorian)
    Nemesis Automatons
    New Original

    Ninjas:
    Tsoo
    Legacy Chain
    Carnival of Light
    New Original

    Thugs:
    Skulls
    Hellions
    Freakshow
    New Original

    Zombies:
    Banished Pantheon
    Circle of Thorns
    New Original

    Demons:
    New Original
    Circle of Thorns

These are all just ideas off the top of my head. Feel free to argue about what should go where.

Mercs probably has the most options already in game. It's a pretty versatile set thematically.

I got Lord Recluse, Blue Steel, Super Devoured Pyriss, Honoree, and I think Lady Grey? Can't remember the fifth person clearly.
And if you pay attention to some of the other battles going on you'll see lots of other signature character that don't run with you, but are present and fighting off to the sides. I distinctly remember seeing Mynx fighting alongside someone else I don't remember right now.

I still do not play a pistols character PURELY because the animations are outrageously silly. I would even go for the Equilibrium stuff like Hail of Bullets and Dual Wield, but Bullet Rain and Piercing Rounds are just so completely Bugs Bunny (and they're key powers I wouldn't skip) that I just don't want to make a character that would do that.
Agreed. I have a hard time imagining a hard nosed, gritty Western gunslinger type doing any of those things. Like...at all.
  10. I agree that it should go both ways. It's only fair that if you provide un-stupid DP animations, then you should stupidify the MM animations.

The Hulk is totally based on real life. I was married to her.

This. I also approve of the idea in principle. I worry that the amount of work necessary to keep it from pulling Praetorians or Villains might reduce the chances of it happening though.

    Factions

Well, I think that's probably the hardest part. I'd say we'd have to forgo creating real factions as I think that would take waaaay more work. Like...enough work to put this on a permanent back-burner. Just RP your joining the Circle of Thorns, but still being attacked by them, as an internal faction war.
  14. Probably not. I think they can use the MM animations as a place to start, though. Give us some nice, simple, non-flippy spinny Michael Jackson dance moves.
  15. Heh...we're going to stay away from how difficult or easy we might think something is. Standard code rant applies here.

Regardless of how easy or difficult it would be, it would make lots and lots of people very happy and that makes it worth the effort.

    Factions

I agree and have always thought it would be great to be able to align myself more specifically with a group. I have a couple characters that think Hero Corps is super nifty neato and want to be a part of that group. I think it would be pretty nice if we could maybe run an introductory arc to join a group and then have contacts within that group that off missions and arcs throughout your career. I think there would need to be some limitations on it though. Perhaps you can only belong to one group at a time. The group you belong to grants group specific merits which you can only use in their stores and switching groups purges all your merits from the previous group. Maybe even go so far as to have group specific IO sets that are tied to a character flag identifying you as part of that group and switching groups causes those IOs to no lose their set bonuses, though the base power adjustments would still be there.

I've been pretty vocal about this in the past. I absolutely hate the Dual Pistols animations and really wish they'd give us some alternates to use instead.

If the price we have to pay for having the awesomeness of those skins is us having to sit on the forums telling people to shut the hell up and be glad for what they have, I'm willing to pay it.
  19. First off, let me state that I absolutely love the Victorian Aura. It has become pretty much my go-to aura for any magic origin characters I create. However, I was hoping for a little more customization with it. I noticed that there are a lot of options available for placement of the aura, but the one I really, really wanted wasn't there. We have options to have Body & Chest which excludes the head, and then we have Upper Body and Lower Body which are separate. As well as Arms & Chest which excludes everything except those two areas. What I'm hoping for is Lower Body & Chest which would exclude the head and arms. I found some clipping with the High Collar back detail on the upper part of the arms, and while I'm certainly willing to put up with it, if that can be fixed I think it'd be super.

Since I'm on it though can we also get an option for just Arms and Legs? It's not something I can imagine myself wanting, but I can foresee others wanting to get rid of the chest aura while keeping the aura everywhere else.
  20. No, furries are a completely different animal altogether.
  21. Who needs perfect form when you've got the sort of back-up he does?
  22. This is by far the easiest solution and one that has been suggested many times before. Hopefully if we keep suggesting it they'll eventually get around to doing it.

  24. All I know is that I started with only my Alpha slot unlocked and it was empty. After running all 6 arcs and their respective non-combat contact stories I managed to build and slot a single power and got my Judgment and Interface slots to 37% from 0. At this rate I have to run all 6 story arcs about 2 more times to fully unlock those slots. That feels and sounds a lot like grinding. I don't know how anybody can run the same arc multiple times on one character. I rank it as just as ridiculously boring as reading the same book 3 times in a row. It doesn't matter how good the book is when you already know everything that's going to happen. It's just...tedious. Frankly, I'm disappointed with DA right now. I was hoping for better.
  25. Good to know. Thank you. I can now sleep more soundly before using all my XP boosters on a different character.
