Thug MM pistol animations ported to Blast/Troller sets

This one is pretty simple. I like pistols. I like my DP corrupter. I would vastly prefer to have the simple animations for Empty Clips or Dual Wield as seen on the Mastermind Thug set on my corrupter.

That's all.

EDIT: I meant corrupter not controller.

I've been pretty vocal about this in the past. I absolutely hate the Dual Pistols animations and really wish they'd give us some alternates to use instead.

There would be a lot less to complain about if the simple, non-retarded animations didn't exist already. But they do, they gave the MM Thug set mostly normal animations (aside from the first power, holds the gun tilted which is pretty non-productive for actually hitting anything).


It shouldn't be that difficult to just enable those animations on the Blaster/Corrupter/Defender powersets.

Heh...we're going to stay away from how difficult or easy we might think something is. Standard code rant applies here.

Regardless of how easy or difficult it would be, it would make lots and lots of people very happy and that makes it worth the effort.

Fair enough, I'll agree to side step that discussion, especially since the last time I waded into that murk I found out the back end of this game is managed in XLS spreadsheets...

All I'm saying, is that the animation bones already exist, and it doesn't imbalance anything, so...

I'm sure alternate animation can be done reasonably easily from a code perspective such tech is already in use for MA and SS but they would have to have be all new animations because the mm animation times aren't the same as the blast set's times

Probably not. I think they can use the MM animations as a place to start, though. Give us some nice, simple, non-flippy spinny Michael Jackson dance moves.

i'd like the ports to go both ways, personally

make my MM a little more interesting.

there really needs to be a whole new slew of powers customizations.

i dont know why street justice didnt have options when it came out, and dark control didnt have a couple hand options for things like the fear cone and what not.... and why there wasnt an option for a NOT-WOLF pet. ugh. people have been asking for these things for a while, and with plenty of time to make it happen... maybe... O_o

I agree that it should go both ways. It's only fair that if you provide un-stupid DP animations, then you should stupidify the MM animations.

I still do not play a pistols character PURELY because the animations are outrageously silly. I would even go for the Equilibrium stuff like Hail of Bullets and Dual Wield, but Bullet Rain and Piercing Rounds are just so completely Bugs Bunny (and they're key powers I wouldn't skip) that I just don't want to make a character that would do that.

Agreed. I have a hard time imagining a hard nosed, gritty Western gunslinger type doing any of those things. Like...at all.

made the hands bigger with 'large' gloves wrapped, so the navy colts didn't clip at the wrist.

Yeah, I checked and the animations are shorter than the existing Blaster/Corruptor sets, so there would be at least some work involved in porting them. They still exist already and give a good starting point.
