  1. You don't have to be level 10 to join. Just saying.
  2. I've made three mission arcs spanning levels 1-10, 10-20 and 21-29. I'm planning to make two more arcs for the 30-40 and 40-50 ranges. These arcs are designed to be played by VEATs and focus on issues that Soldiers of Arachnos would be assigned to deal with. Yes, these arcs somewhat assume that you are a loyal servant of Arachnos, or at least that you pretend to be loyal.

If you were disappointed by the messed up official story arcs for the VEATs, or if you just want to have some fun with your awesome archetype, give my arcs a try:

    The Tangled Weave
    Arc ID: 338575
    Level: 1-10
Description: Find out more about how Arachnos works behind the scenes in the Rogue Isles to make Project Destiny come to fruition.

    A Taste For Evil
    Arc ID: 349034
    Level: 10-20
Description: You have been volunteered to try out the new NutriPasteā„¢ flavor before it gets introduced on the market. Enjoy your tasty and nutritious snack. Please report any unexpected side-effects to your superior officer.

    Fear And Loathing On Striga
    Arc ID: 350522
    Level: 20-29
Description: The Council is losing its grip on Striga after their giant robot scheme was thwarted by a group of heroes. You have to fill the sudden power vacuum in a manner which pleases Arachnos. [Contains an AV/EB.]
  3. Just like the OP I was of course talking about the Arbiters who are trainers, not the Arbiters who are contacts or NPCs already.
  4. Congratulations to the winner. I look forward to trying it out.

I didn't know we weren't allowed to have a choice. I wish this had been explained clearer in the rules. Not that the choice in my arc really was a choice: it was either doing evil for the greater good, or even more evil for no good at all. The choice was just an illusion.

But those aren't Arbiters, they are contacts. The Arbiters are trainers, but unlike the hero-side trainers they don't have any history or personality and they barely have an identity.
  6. Another solution would be to give the Arbiters some personality. Right now they are just nearly identical people with different names. Make them more interesting. It wouldn't hurt to show us why we must fear them too. Show, don't tell, as the old saying goes.

How could you possibly fail it?
Not enough debuffs. Not enough damage. Not enough people. People leaving the zone ending up in Mercy with no way to get back in time to help out. I could go on about how the enemies camped the hospital for a while just to make sure that we didn't get back up after they killed us the first time. But sure, with three or more full teams with all the necessary powers I suppose it isn't hard. Try it with one not quite full team.

Oh ho ho ho Venture, you never fail to amuse.

Wait, that's not true. Anyway, I've played plenty of characters with no official tie to Arachnos. I guess you must be wrong.

It was working but the custom groups weren't fixed for the I16 exploit fix so the rewards were abysmal. Which was unfortunate because I really liked the blaxploitation style of it all. I sent a comment about it to the author but I sort of doubt he's still around.
  11. I have seven arcs up. If I unpublish one of them, and I have considered it, I have less than 40 plays. Maybe even less than 30 plays.
  12. The problems that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has to deal with every year are suddenly made painfully obvious to us all. Although to be honest, there is no Oscar for "best new" anything. Perhaps the category should be "Early Bird" and only accept arcs published during the month of January. Since it's quite impossible to tell how many arcs an author might have created before.

Because that's impossible with this game engine for now, according to the devs. Gravity has a power which teleports whole groups of enemies, knocks them back from that spot and disorients them instead.
  16. Sure, why not. How would you enhance the range of a melee attack anyway?

Nothing a little completely ignoring the interrupt reduction part of the IO can't fix.
  18. I think Sniper Attacks IOs should be allowed to go in Assassin Strike-type attacks as well.

It would make them more useful to more people, make them more attractive on the market, and finally allow Stalkers to use poison on their weapons.

They might have to be renamed from Sniper attacks to, for example, Precise Attacks.

    That is all.

That's what people who use KB strategically do. Not because you would need it but because it's the right way to do it, to make sure the targets aren't leaving and aren't standing up to fight back.

And hurricane or force bubble doesn't kill the targets while doing it, so that's why they aren't necessarily better.
  20. Thanks for the review.

The only thing I'm going to comment on is the first mission. You are sent in along with Miss Vines disguised as part of her crew. She is the reporter the Luddites have been demanding comes down to interview them and to spread the truth about NutriPaste. When you enter the mission she slips away from you while you take out the guards at the door in order to do her interview without you knocking out her subject. She doesn't get that far though.

This arc is going to be retired soon and its replacement, "A Taste For Evil", was published a couple of weeks ago.

Even though my VEAT arcs are sort of designed for VEATs other ATs can run them too. They'll just have to pretend that they're loyal soldiers of Arachnos, or at least pretend to pretend to be loyal soldiers of Arachnos. I have arcs running 1-10 (The Tangled Weave), 10-20 (A Taste For Evil) and 20-30 (Fear And Loathing On Striga) so far. More information can be found in the link in my signature.
  22. I finished mine much faster than that. You can doo eet!
  23. Whoa, that was close. In my hurry to finish the arc I sent an email without all that extra info 2 weeks ago... Good thing someone reminded me.

    I confess, it was rushed.

Also the second mission felt like it really served no purpose other than a red herring. Seeing the hostages don't make you connect with them any more for the choice in the third mission. And it's a little pointless to rescue the women only to have them be captured again right afterward. It could be different women, but that also lessens the point of this mission.
I admit that this mission is a bit confusing but it is supposed to be - we were expecting Lost holding Penny captive, but instead we face Clockwork holding these other women captive. The mission is the King's way of demonstrating his intent and letting us know that he means business. He has kidnapped more women than the ones we rescue in this mission, which I believe the note we get from the clockwork mentions, as a way to motivate us into giving him Penny instead of merely rescuing her from the Lost.

Regardless, good luck in the contest!
Thanks, and thanks for the review.
