Quote:Ok with Illusion as primary just understand that it would be a completely different set than what controllers have, and the pets will handle completely differently. No, no, and no. Illusion as primary, not secondary.
Also, I know they're not going to rebalance AR/Archery with Swap Ammo(Arrows).
Just swap your damage type in tailor. Just like in Character Creation, you can change the color of a power(Using something like fire sword as a E.x) has dark, bright, or original color. With Archery/AR you can't set colors, why not different types of Arrows/bullets?
There's going to be 3 attacks for the character.
There's going to be 3 types of "illusionary" henchmen that can be summoned.
There will be two powers that buff the henchmen
And the final power could go one of several ways. The one I think you want would work like Gang War which summons several very short lived pets that would react like the controllers pets
As long as your willing to follow the established MM rules this isn't a bad idea.

Ok here's the problem with messing with archery. I do understand why swap ammo would be cool in that set but please understand what you are asking for.
Ok for the sake of argument let's say they keep it simple and use the same ammo types DP uses Standard, Fire, Ice, and Chemical.
In order to do that the devs would have to rip apart two seperate powersets. Archery which has the Fire attack and the Standard attack. Then Trick Arrow which has the Ice Arrow and the Poison Gas and/or Acid Attack.
The devs then need to decide which set (Archery or Trick Arrow) will get the new swap ammo power. IMO Swap Ammo seems more fitting to Trick Arrow. In either case once that is decided the something needs to fill the holes where the missing powers once sat. That requires both powersets to be remade from the ground up to maintain balance.
I think it's very unlikely we will see the devs go down that road for existing powersets. Those are real big changes. -
I'll give it a shot, but since I'm not your secretary I'm not responsible for anything that gets lost in translation.

Yep, definitely another Kittykrusader here. Standard Code Rant applies.

Quote:You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.
Any good ideas? Heres mine.
Illusion Control pets lack the ability to be controlled that Mastermind pets have so they wouldn't work. If you meant the set as a secondary powerset that would be way overpowered.
------------------------
The devs aren't going to rebalance the AR powerset just to replace something with Swap Ammo.

Flat out never gonna happen. If you want to play a hero game that is designed around that idea you can go play Champions.
Keep thinkin tho maybe the next idea will be a diamond in the rough. -
Quote:It's also a quick way to get thrown on peoples ignore lists. I do it. I don't need some twit spamming LFT ruining a public conversation I'm having in broadcast. I may be trying to help another player solve a problem or answer some questions. Spammers get a quick trip to my ignore list, 1 starred with notes identifying them as a spammer. There's your problem. Seriously.
I always check people who have the "looking for team" flag first, after I check friends and SG. That may get me 1-2 people, or more if it's a good day and there's something going on (like DS just getting released). After that I send out a broadcast. That almost never gets me anything. After that I start asking people.
LFT flag and spamming broadcast are extremely ineffective ways of finding a team. If all you're doing to "find a team" is setting your LFT flag or spamming broadcast in one zone, it's no wonder it's not working. -

Quote:We can agree that the general costumes should never have been made vet rewards. Trenchcoats, wings, samurai armor, Boxing outfit are way too useful with regular costumes.
Now having said that I understand why the devs used costume pieces as vet rewards. I still don't agree with it, but I do understand.
When vet rewards were started they didn't have the stuff they gave us later. I believe the costumes were what they had on hand that was ready to go into the game, so they used it to fill the gaps. That bought them some time to work on future rewards.
I know for a fact that the Wings angel/demon were originally intended to be costume recipes but they decided to give them to us early with the vet rewards rather than make us wait for I9 to be released. -

Quote:You can do that? O.O
I guess that means you can turn it *on* so you can see your title without having to skim thru all the badges to see which one is highlighted (and invariably accidentally clicking one and setting it as the current badge displayed along the way).
Wow, learn something new every day!

Yep. You can turn yours on/off, you can have a health/end bar on/off, you can choose to see or not see other players names.
It's under Options, first tab on the left. When you have the time just slowly scroll down the list and see all the things you can adjust. -
He already told you. Your just choosing to ignore what he posted.
Pick any server.
Give him the name of the character your are going to log in on.
He will show you how easy it is to form a team.
Nevermind. You edited your post while I was responding. -
Quote:Hey Beber, I hope you and any other French players understand that I'm only teasing when I make jokes about France. No offense is intended, especially to all the lovely mademoiselle's.Actually, I'd give NC a whole lot of money to transfer all my toons to Freedom, and I'm not the only one from Vigilance in that case. 'Cause Vigilance low population is low.
-
Quote:Funny you should mention that. I made an homage character based on a particularly obnoxious ex-forum member who claimed to be French using that very costume. Maybe some will remember him.Oh no, they do. And they all have stripped tops and blue jeans. Plus the statue of Atlas has been replaced with the Eiffel tower.

This is an old pic and the pants have since been changed to blue.

Quote:Well they'd have 12 other servers to choose from.True, but that's THEIR fault.
What about the player who WANTS to read things and learn about the game, but can't because everything is in a foreign language?
If you don't want to read stuff, that's your choice. If you want to but can't, that isn't your fault.
I wasn't suggesting this as a reason not to merge the lists, just pointing out that there will be two servers that are in a different language.
Zukunft is pretty obvious. But Vigilance doesn't indicate that it's in French by the name.
I'm assuming that the devs would merge Freedom with Froggyland so 90% of all the obnoxious players would be on the same server.
And merging those two would require a name change so they can give it an appropriately frenchy name like Escargot or something.

Thanks for clarifying. And while I can't speak for any other players, I rarely notice the yellow titles other players have, but I do appreciate that you are concerned.

Quote:Champions has the same problem Sailboat described and I have no doubt that it's one of the big reasons the game is floundering. To be fair, starting out they had no where near the server capcity they needed for Aion at launch. Maybe had they done that more people would not have ragequit from the retardedly long queues we had back then. As it is now there isnt a line to do anything in Aion.

Quote:Ah, didn't think of someone leaving, I deleted a character that was in the SG... dangit, now I need to come up with another 15000 or so prestige to get the teleporter working again.
Ok I'm confused. Do you need the 15k to buy a power/control source? Because a drop in prestige shouldn't cause a TP to stop working unless the base shuts down from not paying rent and your in the negative. -
Serverless system? The only thing I ever saw the devs say about a serverless system was that if this game were ever to implement one that they wouldn't be refunding any money for server transfers.

Quote:No, what I mean is: EVERYTHING is in German and French. Contacts, clues, mission dialog, everything. If you don't speak those languages you won't have any idea what the hell is going on in the game. You and I could probably stumble through it because we've been through the game multiple times already. What about a new player that happens to choose Vigilance....and doesn't speak French? They'd be completely lost.
The fact that you can't understand the people playing pales in comparison when you can't understand the game itself.
Please understand I'm not trying to upset you but let's be honest. How many times have you run across a newer player and realized that they never once took any time to read anything in this game. They speak english and they're on english servers and they don't have a frackin clue about what's going on.
At least on a French server the only people they'd be able to irritate are the French. Now the Germans are an efficient bunch. They'd either ignore them or design something that caused their computers to explode. -
Quote:Just for the record, here:
I want everyone to have all the costume options all the time. No time required. If the costume option is in the game, a character should be able to use it from the very first, pre-tutorial creator. This goes as much for unlockable-in-game options as it does for veteran reward options. The creator is this game's biggest asset and locking options out of it, I think, hurts this game immeasurably.
I'm a little less picky about the Booster Pack parts because they can be acquired by anyone at any time. If vets got booster packs for free (and people that bought them ahead of time got nothing because they've already gotten all the boosters), that would be fine with me.
Let the vets have their little powers, their little perks. Who cares? But the costumes? Those are a big farking deal.
We can agree that the general costumes should never have been made vet rewards. Trenchcoats, wings, samurai armor, Boxing outfit are way too useful with regular costumes.
Now if they had gone the route of making unique costumes that couldn't be intermixed with other items in the costume creator. For example some of the halloween costumes they added to the game a few years ago. That I wouldn't object to. -
Quote:What do you mean we'll end up seeing this happen? I've been approached by beggers plenty of times.Well I didn't want to punish the villain's any more than the devs already do.

Yes and when everybody is rich then nobody will be.
We'll end up seeing characters outside of WW doing /em panhandle.
In fact it was some of the damn beggars that killed off my generosity. I used to have no problem helping out a hero or villain who was short of funds until these beggars started putting me on their friends lists and harrassing me with demands for handouts whenever I logged onto that character.
Now I perform random acts of kindness by performing drive by gifting, (I drag and drop something expensive on a total stranger and take off without a word) and by spending way too much for relatively cheap items on the market. -
He's using the KittyKrusader argument. He dismisses the idea that something could be difficult and assumes that because it can be done in other games it must be easy to implement here, so the reason it isn't here already is because the devs don't care.

However they love him here on the forums.
