Quote:Please fix the Influence/Infamy to Prestige conversion.
As of now the current conversion is:
$10,000,000 = 20,000 Prestige.
That's because it's an influence sink. We need more of them in the game. Also since it's so easy to make tens and hundreds of millions of influence/infamy it's very unlikely the devs will suddenly decide to change it. -
Quote:True but only after 5 years of playing...
Keep in mind, I'm not asking for anything to be done with base building per se. I'm just saying make it easier to earn prestige or buy prestige in exchange for inf. The ratio of inf to prestige right now is TERRIBLE. That should be an quick and easy fix.
More prestige will always be nice but cool creations are well within the reach of solo SG's. I have several with about 2 million prestige in each.
The base section has a couple threads that advise players how to get a fully functional base solo for the 300k you get from inviting all your alts to the same SG. That leaves everything else earned free to go to base customization.
It only cost me at most 400,00 prestige to build an entire Castle. The Great Room it was built in cost 425,000 so my total cost was 825,500.

Quote:Also if you have a little patience and resist buying the full edition for the fluff items the day it's released, you can pick it up at stores or online after the price has been knocked down.Your mistake was in buying the in game item pack. If you instead bought the full Mac version of the game then you would have gotten all the same items plus a month of play. It costs $20 instead of $10 but for that extra $10 you get a month of play as opposed to the $15 normal cost of a month of play. Or you could look at it instead as paying paying for a month of play and getting the item pack for $5. And yes, the full mac version could be applied to your existing account.
At any rate, that is where the "free month" mentioned is coming from.
For example, The Architect Edition runs for $19.99 from NCSoft. I got mine on sale from Amazon a month after release for $10.99. The free booster $9.99 reduced my out of pocket to $1.00 add in the free month that also came with it and I actually made money on the purchase.
And like Thirty-Seven and tens of thousands of other customers I also buy these things for the costume pieces. With the exception of Ninja Run I get far more use out of Costume pieces than I do the powers.Quote:Originally Posted by Thirty-SevenYes. I don't know what game you are playing but I got a lot more for my money than you did.
1. The complete Valkyrie costume set
2. The ability to have a cape on any new character starting at level 1
3. Two sets of wings were unlocked for all characters without needing to wait for the vet reward to unlock or craft a recipe.
4. 1 month free game time
5. Mission Teleporter Power.
I'm quite happy with everything I got with my purchase.

We have so many different teleport powers in the game and it's so easy to get around that I often forget to use it. Especially after they added Ultra Mode and everything looks so cool and vibrant now. -
Quote:Only problem with that idea is the one that Star Trek Online has with the same issue. Bank Thieves. Every one that chips into an SG bank is going to want access to what they stored and it will be very easy to rip the whole SG off.Maybe just add it to SG vaults and have a pool of inf for anyone to give or take from.
Then theres also the problem with an SG leader that suddenly decides to lock everyone out. The GMs have already stated that the SG and everything in it belongs to the person with the rank Super Leader. They won't get involved with internal disputes.
I think a private bank is the way to go. -
Quote:To be honest I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand I agree with you, but on the other I'm a huge fan of personal responsibility. That being said I'm willing to let the people more qualified than I am to make the final decision on how it would work.Sure, I think those are reasonable. But that's just me.
Only thought that comes to mind is the monthly access shouldn't go below a certain point (like 50% of the max deposited - just tossing out a number here). This is in case some one goes inactive for a while and comes back with next to nothing. -
Quote:I'm assuming that the draw of the bank would be that the amount that could be stored would far exceed what a mule can hold. People want a bank because they feel creating mules is a pain in the butt.Interesting...very interesting...
But, would you run into the issue of not using the bank because you could use a "mule" toon(s) via emails and avoid the sink?
Yeah, I could see it as more convenient QoL not having to log the mule on and transfer, but if the sink is too small, then why have it vs. if too large then avoid it.
And where would the cap be?
As t the fees I was thinking a million to buy access per character, and a monthly fee of 10% of the amount being stored.
Also makes sure there is a big warning in game that explains the fee and that it will be taken out each month regardless of whether or not the account is active. -
Power hasn't been back to this thread since the fourth. The person beating the dead horse is the one who won't let it drop off the front page and just had to post in it again after it was silent for almost 10 days.

Quote:And a lot of SG's want to keep that type of information out of the general publics hands because there are players that make a career of SG hopping looking for unattentive/trusting SG's that they can rip off. This is why most people broadcast "ads" for their SG in popular zones, such as Atlas Park. They're giving you the information you are requesting (SG name, a short description, etc), and letting you know they're recruiting. They will more than likely invite you to a team and talk to you about the SG personally, and even give you a tour of their base if you're interested. It's up to you, then, to make an informed decision as to whether or not the SG is for you.
-
Wait guys there is some merit to this idea if tweaked. They could create a global bank where you could store your influence, But to do so you would have to pay a recurring fee in Inf. They could even make us pay an inf charge for each alt that has access to the bank.
These fees would be a great way to add a new inf sinks to the game. -
Quote:Memphis Bill is right. Just look at how those temp powers look with different body types. The larger the body the more the "costume" part looks screwed up. whereas the regular costume pieces look ok on just about every size body.I was curious why you can't have a permanent "Zero G Pack" or "Raptor Pack" costume piece for "Superjump" and "Flying". We already got wings and rocket boots so its not much different just a little add-on for the people that try and make their toons look like they don't have any powers. Like for example an Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster with Munitions Mastery. We got new recipes for temporary powers its time for new costume piece recipes.

Don't accept blind SG invites. An SG that sends out blind invites to anyone isn't concerned about it's members their just looking for fodder to fill the ranks.
Ask the recruiter if he will invite you to a team and give you a tour of the base.
Ask the recruiter if he will show you what the SG colors look like. -
My only concern is that we'd be trading the irritation of having to retype our passwords for the irritation of having to navigate thru a base to switch characters.
-
Also IO's can't be combined like non IO enhancements. They can be slotted individually.

Ah phooey. You'd think I'd be used to the taste of shoe leather by now.

Quote:Ah! Like my "Oy vey".While BBQs answer actually makes sense now I think about it, 'Strewth', to the best of my own (meagre) knowledge of it is a general exclamation used in the land of Oz (Australia).
In the same vein, people use;
"Jesus"
"Christ"
"Damn"
"Hells"
"Crimeny"
Etc. Just one word exclamations, usually to exclaim surprise, shock or, in this case, imminent facepalming
I was totally baffled for a while there. Thanks for the heads up.

It's not a bad idea but I have to agree with Sharker. It would be nice in a different version of this game.

If I owe Arctic an apology then she has it. (I hope I can explain why I came to my conclusion clearly) It just seemed to me that RV was not the appropriate zone to use because frankly most players don't use PvP zones so using it as an example of a zone that already exists that meets Powers suggestion felt inappropriate. I hope that makes sense about my train of thought and again If an apology is owed I offer it.
Arctic_Princess if I misinterpreted what you were trying to say I apologize. -

Actually the Horrorville sounds more like the Haunted House zone that was suggested a few times over the years. The second half tho reminds me of Boomtown and RWZ as far as appearances go.
And Power never said anything about PvP. -
I think that new doppelganger/evil clone whatever arc from level 20-30 is our version of a nemesis. Maybe if the devs figured a way it could be added as a boss/av randomly in the Paper/Radio missions or even in the Mayhem/Safeguard missions once we hit level 20+.
-
I have to admit I wouldn't mind not having to enter my password more than once. I just don't know if a base is a feasible way to do it.
-
Here's the thing I don't understand. I usually play with /hide from search on and yet if there are fewer people playing then ever before why is it I'm seeing a rise in the number of invites being sent to me even tho I'm using the /hide from searches.
