Why not? You do the same thing. You can look at a 30 second movie preview, know you aren't going to like it, and decide not to see it. That's all I did. I watched the clip and decided I'm not going to like it. We all make decisions based on first impressions.

Quote:You act like that's significant when in fact from what the devs themselves told us that the name freeing program never included characters over 40.The account has been inactive for about 3 years and the player hasnt even logged on...level 41.
The handful of characters on inactive accounts that high in level have always been safe. And yes I said handful because when compared to all the number of all the characters ever made on all the accounts ever created, the number of inactive characters that are over 40 are only a tiny fraction of the inactive population. -
I think Orwell is the real hero of the show and should get more focus. Maybe a 2 hour episide where she has to get information at a beach while wearing a bikini or maybe some of her fathers goons are conducting business meetings in a strip club and Orwell gets a job as a dancer so she can spy on them while doing lap dances . . .

Quote:On open world PVP: I would prefer a different approach. Yes you can go to the opposite side's city. However, when you do, you go to a PVP instance of that map instead of the normal one. Opposite side players are alerted to your presence there (via a message that can be turned off for people who want to ignore it) and can choose to go to that map and hunt you down if they wish. Mobs in the opposite side's cities have a chance to drop PVP IOs, giving you an incentive to try for them.
If an open world PvP were to be added to this game I'd much rather see the devs make a dedicated PvP server and allow players free transfers to and from it. -
Quote:Just for clarification I said "lazy" or "cheap". Funny how you only took offense at the "Cheap" remark. If you think I, and many others, are "cheap" for being unwilling or unable to shell out $65 to a third-party seller for a cape and an alternate animation for Sprint, I'd like to know how I can get your job so I can have that kind of money to burn.
Now $65 bucks is not a bad price for a limited run Collector's DVD Edition that was selling for $50 odd dollars when it was first released over 4 years ago. I paid either $49.99 or $59.99 for my copy from Best Buy. If you bother to check the prices of Collector's Edition's form other games you'll find those similar limited run copies sell for 2-3 times the original asking price and they get more expensive as more time passes from the original release date and copies get harder to find.
I notice a couple of things may have happened here. Either you waited until someone bought the factory sealed copy that was on sale for less than $20. bucks before posting, or you weren't interested enough in getting a copy to bother to read the condition of the DVD's that were being sold. In which case ya snooze ya lose.
Sure I'll share where I get my money with you. I'm a veteran on disability whose only income is $770. per month. Personally I don't recommend "trying" to get military disability. You're far more likely to get innocent people hurt or killed. -
Quote:I hope you like it because that intro killed any interest I had in watching it. I found the music painful to listen to and I like bagpipes.Really? Your ears bled from that? It was that awful? I shudder to think of how you'll react when you hear something that actually is awful enough to warrant that kind of reaction.
I haven't had a chance to watch the show yet, but I am looking forward to it when I do. -
Quote:I heard they are doing a remake of this version of Wonder Woman.Hmmm...I'd love to see a new Wonder Woman show. And I've usually enjoyed DK's shows. A little bit worried with how they might go with it though.
I don't know if I want to see a NEW Wonder Woman. I want to see the super strong, durable, can fly, deflect bullets Wonder Woman. What we've seen in animated movies would be great.
If it turns out she's just a female Batman with the name Wonder Woman, I would have to wonder why they don't just call the show Batwoman.
Will just have to wait and see. I have faith the writing will be good, it's more a question of, will this be Wonder Woman or will this be Wonder Woman in name only.

Quote:This is true, but there's also the fact that it's so bad it's fun to watch. We can all relate and think of of a movie or some other production that became a cult classic because it was so bad, so cheesy, so whatever that we just love watching them over and over.Too many people don't want to think when they watch TV.
[edit] it occurred to me that may have come off as a dig but I meant that in the sense that gameshows, wrestling and comedies are easy to watch because you don't need to pay attention.
That is why we get quirky detectives in detective shows to keep people's attention.

Quote:Why can't she have both magic and tech equipment? Is there some law I'm unaware of that says she can't use both? Why does she have to be restricted to one or the other.Problem with her magic items going tech is that it pretty much would change the character completely. She is supposed to have the strength, speed, stamina, etc of the gods similar to Captain Marvel/Shazam. So if she is just a tech user like Batman then she would likely not have the speed-reflexes-timing-hand eye coordination needed to deflect bullets or beams with her bracelets. How would the lasso of truth work if it were tech based? By electro shocking the person into telling the truth? Seems like torture and I doubt that would last for long on the networks.
They could have it where she comes from her homeland of the Amazons, armed with her magic weapons, etc. and decides that in order to effectively fight evil in "man's world" that she must learn the ways of "man's world" and that could include creating and running a business empire that she in turn can use its resources in her fight. Given that she and the other amazons are supposedly immortal she could have left her homeland decades ago and spent that time building her corporate empire. This could also be used to show her fighting the Ratzi's in the 40's then returning to her business for a time after the war and then emerging again the present to pick up the fight again. -

Quote:It's an example of an often requested feature made by players that want the game to work in a manner contrary to how the devs want it to work. What in the world does "make me 50" button have to do with this suggestion?
That being said I would love it if the devs changed their minds and allowed us to send stacks of items. -
I find myself agreeing with Claws on this. IMHO the jacktards trying to bully people into PvP drives away more customers than having three employees move on to other jobs.

Quote:Just an FYI. If you took the time to check the links you'd have found that the Mentor's Project goes to a thread that explains how to join the N P C channel. There are 4 links in your signature, and none of them look anything like N P C. Maybe you should specify which link it is for the OP.
It explains what to type to join the channel and that the initials stand for the New Players Council along with some other information. -
Quote:Welcome to City of Villains. People have been making the exact same complaints every day about redside since the day it launched 4 years ago.Praetoria has become a bit of a grind, that's for sure. The mission map repetition is killer and it seems a lot of players aren't too into being there.

Quote:Are you serious? Douchey had me laughing because he reminds me of so many doucheys I've met playing MMO's. He's a dead ringer. She still needs to add some polish into her work, but I simply couldn't get past Douchey McNitpick. Just..um...how much were they drinking when that character got made and decided it was a good thing to put into a video? Seriously, I had to stop the video after the character came on and started talking. I think the point of putting up a review is making sure people get to the actual end of the review.

Quote:I had to provide all that information to the GW GM's last year when they changed their security features and I returned after a 6 month break to find that I couldn't remember my characters names. As an old-timer, I live in fear of what might happen if my account ever gets hacked. If I lose access for any reason, NCSoft requires a TON of information to restore the account, most of which I haven't had access to in years.
- Original credit card number billed when the account was opened...
Say what??? I've switched banks since then and haven't kept credit/debit cards from seven years ago, sorry.
- ALL (ALL???) the serial codes (CD keys) from every (EVERY???) game and expansion put on the account since time began...
I've moved a couple times since then. The wife has also cleaned house on me a few times. I have almost NONE of that still in my posession.
- The original email notification from account activation...
That email account was closed years ago. It simply no longer exists.
So... How would I, as a well-over six year vet, regain access to my account, should something happen? Does NCSoft REALLY want to lose a customer who has already spent approximately $1300 on this game?
There has to be a better way! I propose having an ID on file with NCSoft so a mailed or faxed copy can be sent to confirm identity.
Any other thoughts? ...ideas? ...cookie recipies?
But since I bought the game online I had all the emails that I was sent with each purchase that contained all of my serial codes and the dates they were purchased. All I had to do was a simple cut and paste to send them the info they wanted.
The only problem I had was getting them to get off their butts and act on my email. It took them a month to respond and by that time I met someone in CoH who knew a person in GW that had me on their Friends list and he gave me my characters name long before the GW GM's got around to doing their jobs.
In addition to my email folders where I have files for each game I play. I also print up a copy of each game related email when I get them and put them in folders I keep in a $30 dollar fireproof safe with my other important documents. -
Quote:Yeah but a person has to be willing to ask for help. In another thread the OP was advised that one way he could get the Ouro portal power was to ask if someone would put one down for him and he responded.... Since when?
I started on Pinnacle, created my first (and many, many subsequent) character on Pinnacle, and have yet to see it be an "unforgiving server for new kids." People there are as willing to (and in some cases more willing to) help as anywhere else.

Quote:Ya know Fulmens I can remember back before we had it so easy with powers like the Mission Teleporter when we actually had to look for mission entrances and while at first it was frustrating before I realized that I was learning to explore all the zones and see things I would never have known the devs put in the game. One of the only "puzzles" in the game is that it is sometimes tricky to find your mission door. People have been complaining about them for years, while other people complain that there's nothing to do but beat stuff up in a repetitive fashion.
If everything was as simple as "go from point a to point b" I would never have found things like the secret room in Faultline, or the Devs Room in Grandville. Or how about getting to go underwater in that pool in Grandville? Or the secret way to get to the Matrix room in the Arena? And was it in Cap Au Diablo where one could find the floating signs that could only be seen from above?
How many other hidden gems have we forgotten that we never would have seen if we were like the OP and only went from mission door to mission door?
I love the hidden mission door challenges. -
Quote:Yeah and back then we didn't have the option the OP has of buying the Mac In Game Item Pack that has the Mission Teleporter Power - So players can save time and get right into the action by teleporting directly to their active mission.Sorry to see this frustrated new player, but remember how those missions were in Perez Park when we were all noobs? The maze in the woods with plus 4 bosses ready to hold you immediately? Die three times just to make it to a mission door to fight Vahzilok. This player would have loved that! LOL

Quote:The simple truth is that the devs will never be able to make everyone happy. There will always be aspects of every game that some people don't like, and the amount will vary from person to person.Well thx for all the advice but I decided to cash it in. While there are a lot of aspect to this game that I find enjoyable two things simply spoil it for me.
But that's okay. If you aren't having fun then the thing to do is quit and find something else to play, and from reading your post history there's a lot of things you don't like about this game.
We all hope that you'll eventually find a game you like, and if you ever decide to come back we'll be happy to see you return. If not then we bid you fair winds and following seas and long may your big jib draw. -

Quote:Exactly where in my posts did I say that? So, if a thread is stickied no mention of the topic is allowed anywhere else on the forums? Whew! Glad the Devs made you their thread enforcer so we could get THAT cleared up.
Quote:We've been asking for this stuff (Secret Lairs, personal apartments) for years up in the base forums. Please feel free to join the base community discussions. I only gave him a friendly invite to share his ideas with the base building community, and explained that the base devs respond more often up there than they do here.Quote:Well the devs in charge of bases rarely come down here, while they do respond more frequently in the base section.
He didn't get any negative feedback until he started trash talking the base forum.
If a person is going to talk trash then they better develop a thicker skin when people respond accordingly.Quote:Like that response?
No his idea isn't something seperate from base building. They are both the exact same thing with the exception that one would be a personal base while the other allows other players to join and use it.Quote:Simply that it would need to be something separate from base building. My preference would be that the existing system be fixed. And I DID say MAY be thinking.
Oh that's priceless. Your the one that came into the thread with an chip on your shoulder looking to tell someone off.Quote:Why must everyone automatically jump on "YOU DON'T KNOW MY MIND! STOP TELLING ME WHAT I THINK!!!"? Honestly, I THINK that some people are constantly on the lookout for opportunities to tell someone off.

Quote:Yeah it's so hard to ignore Trial Accounts since they can only talk to other players using /local and /hc. Oh sure they can use the team channel but only after you invite them to team.Would be really nice if the Dev Team could add an option to ignore trial accounts...
Here's a novel idea take the Local and Help channels off of your chat box and you'll never here from them again.
