This arc is now published on live, the ID number is 2133.
So far the feedback I've been getting has been positive and I'm people have been enjoying the arc! I ran it with an 8-man team on invincible earlier and had a blast! (Though I would recommend having at least one debuffer for such a set-up)

Is there a global channel for MA arcs on live? Should there be?
-
Well, what do you want people to expect going into an arc? Do you want them to expect to be scared or to be trading blows with Odin?
-
Final update before live.
Changes made:
*Found and corrected another "Phobos"
*Removed Full Auto and Ignite from Captain Batalia's attacks -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
*Changed the planet's name from Phobos to Pholos. Huge change, to be sure.
[/ QUOTE ]
Styrjaxes still claim to be from Phobos in their descriptions.

Darn bugs, always claiming to be from where they're not!
Thanks. -
Just made another change:
*Changed the map in the third mission from Caves Smooth-Large-1 to Arachnoid Tech-Large-10
This map gives the third mission more atmosphere. -

Creator Global Name: @Wrong Number
Difficulty Level: Easy-Medium
Synopsis: We all know villains are not a very creative lot. Take over the world, pull the moon out of orbit....yada, yada, yada. It's no surprise that they keep the trademark lawyers very busy or that one of the lawyers has finally cracked. He needs to be stopped before this city is sued out existence!
Mission Count: 1
Estimated Time to Play: 15 minutes

I just ran this arc. It was quick, corny, and fun. I enjoyed it!
I think it was the enemy descriptions and costumes that made this arc. Kudos on them. As for the enemy powers, they were varied and interesting. Kudos again.
In fact, the only real suggestion I have is maybe add a patrol or two with dialogue to add some life on the way to the boss. But that's purely a cosmetic thing.
Overall it seems you accomplished what you set out to do with this arc and it was an enjoyable romp.
---------------------------------------------------------
Edit: I've decided to unpublish "Adventures of the Space Marines 3" for the moment as I want to get a non-Space Marine adventure ready for live. Of course, the first 2 A.S.M.s are still up and I'm looking for feedback on them.
I just didn't want to waste anyone's time on an arc I don't expect to publish on day one of i14. -
Just discovered I could edit the arc without unpublishing it! Sweet!
Changes made in the last update:
*Changed the planet's name from Phobos to Pholos. Huge change, to be sure.
*"Emperess" is now "Empress".
*Changed the egg at the end of mission 4 to a coccoon, due to the removal of the egg object by the devs.
*Added a little more detail to the Empress's description.
* Caved in to popular demand. Changed mission 4 so players can rescue the resistance fighters on their way to the ??? object.
*As a result, the Queen now spawns off the ??? instead of the resistance fighters.
*Added an additional Simizam patrol in the final mission.
*Replaced the fist icon on the Space Marines with the "stealth" chest detail.
Thanks again to everyone whose provided feedback. -
Hey, thanks for the feedback mistformssquirrel!
I agree the enemy descriptions could use a little more detail, but I'm currently at 99.9% of my save space on that arc, so aside from small tweaks there's not much I can do.
Phobos. I had wondered where I got that word from. I was thinking maybe unreal tournament. Heh. I'll come up with a new name for live.

Yes.
Anyway, I suppose I could try to fit in an explanation for the Empress's (btw, I looked it up, Emperess is a perfectly acceptable, albiet antiquated spelling of the word!... oh fine, I'll fix it.
) presence; something relating to her hobby of experimenting on alien species.
As for the Space Marines costumes, I actually like them as is. Only thing I might change is the fist icon on the chest.
And your comments on the fourth mission. I like it as is, but you're not the first one to complain about having to do a little backtracking, so I guess I can adjust it a little.Stinkin' majority opinion...

(Adding the arc numbers here may make it easier for people to find the arcs in game and check them out but I'll removed them if requested)

Eh, I wouldn't put the numbers up just yet as they'll change when i14 goes live. But if you want to, why not? -
Hey all. Not for nothing, but even with the search feature in-game, the plethora of try-my-arc threads, the mission critique thread, and the "announce your latest creation thread" its a bit hard to find -the- type of story you want to play. Its a jumbled mess out there! So here's what I propose, let's keep a list of mission arcs sorted by genres/themes; that way players who want to play an arc with, say, a mystery-style plot could quickly see what's out there.
Here's how I envision this working:
Items on the list would have two characteristics, the name and the morality (to keep it clean, keep out the other details). Each poster quotes the list as presented by the poster above him/her and adds whatever entry(ies) he or she wants to add to the list. This way the list can remain fresh. Feel free to include whatever link you may want in an arc's name (maybe to a story's individual thread where someone could check out some more details). Also, to avoid the "quote pyramid syndrome" be sure to only have one [ quote] [ /quote] around the list. Feel free to color/bold/italic any name without a link. Two final things. 1) Under the genre headings, list the arcs by alphabetical order to keep things clean. 2) Only list an arc under one, most-appropriate heading.
Feel free to add any genres I may have missed.

I hope this can turn into a useful resource. -
<QR>
I'm not against this, mind you, but do you really want to unleash a wave of protestor fire armored blokes? :P -
Well, this is just a general thought, but because objects can be used as contacts, an author could write a story where a villain gets an idea, does some stuff, ???, and evil results. For instance, there is an arcane table; an evil mystic could start an arc by checking out an incantation to summon a demon to work for him/her and the story could revolve around summoning it.

Arc Name: How to Survive a Robot Uprising
Arc ID: #18226
Creator Global Name: @Experiment DBWP (@Wall of Knight on live)
Difficulty Level: Fairly Tough. It's doable, there are allies scattered throughout, but it's not easy.
Synopsis: Something strange is happening with the AIs of Paragon City; DATA has asked you to look into it. Your natural first stop, Citadel, got nothing. Until you noticed that you had a new message on your service... from Citadel! telling you to visit a certain warehouse in Steel Canyon... (solo-UNfriendly)
[/ QUOTE ]
Posting my thoughts as I run this (solo, lv 50 bs/wp scrapper).
--------------------------------------------------
*The contact's got personality. I like that
*Heh, I was surprised to be going up against lv 54 foes even though I was set to heroic (for speed purposes, of course). Granted, that's not a problem for me
*Didn't have much trouble with the cataphract. Of course, the NPC ally was right next to him, so I saved him. The holds, speed boosts, and singularity made the fight a breeze.
*in the debriefing, you forgot to put a space between "brain" and "glitch"
*I like the NPC dialogue. Its fun.
*The HVAS was a bit easy for my character with the Arbiter and the multiple lieutenants shooting at it
*Ooh, the malta humans VS titans fights look pretty, lol
*Yo, what's the name of the map you used in the 4th mission? I've been looking everywhere for that one
*Back to the 54's I see, nice
*Bleh, ran into my first bit of pain. The big arachnos bot hits hard >.< Try 2: Yeah, this guy does massive damage. Took a third try to bring him down
*Just as an fyi, a lot of the battles in the fourth mission completed before I could get to them. /shrug
*In the briefing before the last mission, the contact suggests that one call in other heroes. But, MA takes place in a task force setting so...
*Oh why must the robots disapprove of Bernie's love for the coffee-maker!?
*The repair bots are dangerous with their end drain. Nice. Though that has the potential to tear through teams. And bleh, just had to deal with 3 at once. I hate running away.
*** Um, just as an fyi, the laptop at the end was untargettable. Unfortunately for some reason if there's a destructable object behind something in a chain of events (I.E. the laptop) its untargettable by the player for some reason. Luckily I happend to come across an NPC ally next to it that WAS able to destroy it, but if the ally were not there I would not have been able to finish the mission. Also, the other NPC allies I came across tended to be a bit "squishy", so its a possibility that a player may not have any NPC allies at the end to help with the laptop. Don't get me wrong, I like where you wanted to go with the break 3 mainframes and then break the computer, but there is the issue with that laptop.
I'm not going to give your arc a rating right now because though it was quite enjoyable, that issue with the laptop at the end ought to be remedied. That said, I liked the menagerie of robotic opponents present throughout the arc.

I would like some feedback on the following arc:
Adventures of the Space Marines 2
Arc # 19159
Length: Very Long (4 Missions. About an hour)
Morality: Neutral

Hey all, just completed my third MA arc. I enjoyed making the original "Adventures of the Space Marines" so much that I decided to make a sequel. I hope ya'll have fun with this "swash-buckling adventure in space". I'd say the story's less dark than the original's, but the gameplay is more of a challenge (compared to the current version of the original, mind you!).
Known issues:
*The enemy groups don't have custom descriptions. I blame the fact that I'm currently at 99.07% of my save space capacity for that.
*There's occassionally a large ambush at the beginning of the third mission that shouldn't be. I have no idea what's causing this. -

Hey, I want to thank everyone whose tested "Adventures of the Space Marines" over the last few days and offered feedback. It has helped me improve this arc tremendously. Now, I feel its at the point where its really cool and not much more could be done with it.
Besides, I'm at 99.9% of the allowable save space now.
Keep an eye out for "Adventures of the Space Marines 2", coming soon (as in a few minutes!)
-
Republished the arc again, the arc number is now 18244
Changes made in the last update:
*Based on some feedback, downgraded bugs from lieutenants to minions
*Reduced npc chatter in the first mission
*Reduced the number of patrols in the 5th mission and changed their locations
*Added some triggered patrols in the 4th mission
*Based on some feedback, changed the second ambush during the final boss encounter
Hopefully the changes will make the arc more enjoyable! -
I'll probably run yours sometime today.
-
Hmm... dying a lot's no good, but let me ask, which version of "Adventures of the Space Marines" did you run? I ask because I've currently got two versions published, one with "Bugs of Artemis" (the bug enemies drop thorntropes on the ground) which I will agree was too hard, and one where the bugs don't drop the spikes on the ground. If you ran the latter and still had trouble, may I ask what archetype you were running the mission on?
Well, thanks for the feedback, sorry the bugs got ya'. I'll consider downgrading the bugs to minions, though I worry that might make them too easy.
Edit: After thinking about it, yeah, I think I'll downgrade 'em to minion status in the next update.
Which reminds me, I gotta' take down the old version of that arc. >.<
