Z is thinking of running another one towards the end of the month!

Well, bear in mind that my char is actually a happily married former hero, and was there mainly because she no longer resides in Paragon and thus doesn't get a lot of opportunity to meet new people. Her partner was at the event too.

And I didn't say there was any OOC ridiculing going on. I just think it's a shame that people did so IC, especially given Zortel's hard work in making the event work!

I think that's kind of a shame really, as the speed meet also had an OOC purpose of helping players "break the ice" with characters they don't know, and hopefully increasing the number of players they can interact with in RP.

But I guess if players want to continue to RP with just the same people all the time, that's perfectly OK too, but it's a pity they decided to ridicule it with their characters.

In fact, Zortel is running that SpeedMeet thing in Pocket D tonight. I'll be there, you coming? Good chance to get to know other characters IC!

Well, I was there last night, and not a mention of it was made within local range of me.

Honestly, I think it's easy enough to ignore. If someone comes up IC to you, either say "not interested" IC, or do it OOC.. I'm sure they'll not bother you, and even if someone has a char that signs, doesn't mean that then becomes the focus of their RP afterwards.

I won't be taking part mate!

Is this in the arena? Don't the arena's disable all temp powers except those bought at the arena store?

In Canada, they have gaming laws which state that they must answer some kind of question to enter a competition, so clauses like that are common for competitions open to them. It's usually a "What's 1+1" type question. Kinda daft, but it's their damn silly gaming laws!

Indeed, in fact it even developed into a 2 season animated series as well; starring her trusty sidekick, White Tiger! (The name was switched a little as Ellie didn't want to make a fuss over it.)

In fairness, you only really see that kind of behaviour from either fairly new RPers, or young RPers; at least such is my experience. Oh, and tools... Don't forget the tools.

Tool = Non-RPer who exists to hold RPers to ridicule.

Must admit.. It does irk me slightly when in RP, I see people playing American characters but using English terminology...
