Quote:1. Use CM reactively instead of proactivelyCycling Clear Mind through an 8 man group is probably one of the most annoying things to do in this game and is the primary reason any invitation for my empath to join a team gets turned down. If there were a way to reduce that annoyance, I might consider teaming with her again.
2. Use CM only when facing a group that includes mezing enemies
3. Don't use CM on Scrappers and Tanks unless you're about to fight Ghost Widow. -
Like, oh, say... Tin Mage?

Quote:Before they fixed Poison Trap, the would summon a gas entity for each target in the area, rather than just a single one. That what what was doing things like holding AVs through PToD and nuking spawns via procs. But neither then nor now would it summon more gas entities over time. But the posion gas entity keeps beign resummod IIRC, so the REAL duration is much longer
The -1000% debuff will shut down the regen of almost any opponent by itself, though. You didn't need the multiple gas entities to do that. -

Quote:While I don't think I'd qualify as a "casual player", I do often play casually. Just before I started working purples into my MM's build (my first lv50), she had around 300M, and that's including my expenditures getting almost all of the IO crafting badges. The only time, through casual play, that I've seen anything over 100million is first because a friend was incredibly generous (helped they were the sort of person who *does* have all day to run TFs, etc) and the second because I got two and thus far my only purple drops in one mission
In the real world, they say "The secret to becoming a millionaire is not spending everything when you've reached 100,000." The same applies to becoming a billionaire: Don't spend all the stuff you've got when you've hit 100,000,000. -

Quote:Because that's so much simpler than using an unsigned datatype or switching to a 64-bit datatype[/sarcasm]they could use an array of numbers making the limit much bigger.
While technically possible (for example, Java has a "BigInteger" class which has no size limit beyond "your computer's RAM"), making a change like that to the existing code (and database! don't forget that we like to have the same amount of inf when we long on as we did when we logged off!) is a far larger ordeal that utilizing the sign bit or upgrading the address space. -
The cape system doesn't support adding separate graphics on top of the cape. Notice that you can't add chest symbols to the capes, either. This is unlikely to change, as it means either a substantial reworking of how capes work (and by extension, several NPC costumes, including Ghost Widow's hair), putting two cape systems on a character - one invisible except for the badge icon (which violates the dev's self-imposed 'one cape system per player character' design rule), or else creating [Cape Types] * [Number of Badges] new capes (copies of the existing cape, with the badge icon added).
There's also the issue that many badges are pretty low resolution.
On the other hand, you might do well to ask for badge icons as chest or SG emblems, since both badge icons and chest emblems are essentially a simple image. -
Quote:It is not possible for an enhancement to increase both magnitude and duration simultaneously.I think it would be best if they worked like Knockback IOs in that they simultaneously increase magnitude and duration.
Technically, whether an enhancement buffs magnitude or duration is determined by the power, not the enhancement, but it's an either-or thing. You simply can't do both. (While all current Hold powers are set to have their duration enhanced, it is theoretically possible to create a Hold power which will have its magnitude enhanced instead. It's unlikely, because it makes "Hold Duration" enhancements inconsistent, but the system allows it)
You're now going to claim that Knockback enhancements increase magnitude and duration, but that's simply not true. The mechanics of the Knockback effect (combined with the ragdoll physics applied to NPCs) means that higher magnitude Knockback results in a longer period before the target recovers, but that's incidental and has nothing to do with the enhancement. Most Knockback effects have 0 duration (there are a very small few that do have duration), but all current Knockback powers are set to have their magnitude enhanced. -
Well, it's kinda like with cookies. If you eat a broken cookie, it has no calories, because they all fell out.
If you're a ghost, all the calories just... fall out. -
Quote:You forgot doing it outside at a Rikti invasion...The MM buff is hard capped at a maximum of 6 targets
A single target click buff like and ally shield could conceivably affect
7 team mates
with 6 henchmen each
plus a fluffy
Thats 49 targets already (currently would be 438.75 for a MM force fielder), the upside return is simply too good even at 45 end per power.
add a gang war or two (which are affected) -
Unit 2 status downgraded to: 'Kinda funky'.
Unit 2 unable to attain positional lock on designation: Fleeting Whisper
Unit 2 reports status declining to: Unloved; Unwanted.
Unit 2 expresses thankful attitude towards Fleeting Whisper
Unit 2 upgrades evaluation of Fleeting Whisper from: 'Awesome' to: 'Totally Radical'.
Unit 2 projects offer of a thankful hug would make things awkward at this time. -
Quote:LAUGH WITH ME!If you like Doc Buzzsaw's arc, you have to run Vernon von Grun once you get to level 45.
Quote:I don't like goofy and I don't like Vernon, but he DOES have one very memorable quote.
Quote:"Democracy is two wolves and a sheep sitting down to decide what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed sheep."
~ Benjamin Franklin
So, unless you're suggesting that Zombie Benjamin Franklin said it to Bovard... it's not a Benjamin Franklin quote.
And anyway, the version most commonly spread around the internet is "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." (the word "lunch" did not enter the English language until several decades after Franklin's death, making it more bizarre that it would be attributed to him)

If NCSoft endorses RMT, then influence gains a real-world value. If influence has real-world value, the government can tax it. (They might not, but they could)

y'know what that video needed? Uniform costumes, guards posted regularly on each side of the path, and a bowl of punch at the end.

Hmm... is there any PBAoE which goes through walls? If not, I would assume it's not possible within the current powers system. If it's not within the current powers system, then implementing this would certainly cause some frustration when someone is just 5 feet away, but the game decides that they're behind that 5" wide column.

Quote:On top of that, Stygian Cycle means that Stamina would almost be a WASTE for Warshades.
Quote:Yeah, I know that fitness can't be used in the other shapes--which is why I think the Nova and Dwarf can use End Mods.
Of course, if I'm absolutely right, they could have just removed the recovery portion of the power, and set the endurance cost to 0, at the same time they set Hide's endurance cost to 0. They didn't, so I'm either wrong, or there's more than one reason for the +recovery in the Kheldian forms, or the devs just didn't think about it.
The only times I've found myself unable to use Stygian Circle were when it's recharging, and when I'm in a mission full of ghosts. Admittedly, my Warshade is not 50, butt hat's been my experience. -
