It's not that simple. Before weapons customization, the game just told players 'Ashtoreth is a War Mace Tanker'. Now, the game has to tell everyone around you 'Ashtoreth is a War Mace Tanker who is using a bat'.

Similarly, Mastermind pets send data saying 'I'm model #1682'. Making them fully customizable would require sending the same amount of data as a real player. And that's just scratching the surface of what's required for pet customization.

Don't forget Thugs and Mercenaries, which have an alternate model for their 3rd T1 pet.

Also: Demon Summoning can customize the colors of their Hellfire T1 and T2 pets. The Fire and Cold T1s and the Fire T2 can't be customized, and the T3 can't be customized.

I would argue that the AT is defined by 'as much damage as possible', not the location from where that damage is dealt. Most powers in most Blaster secondaries require you to take the risk of melee in order to deal more damage.

Have you looked at the arrows you're firing with Trick Arrow? Those ain't broadhead arrows you're using. Not fowling or frog crotch arrows, either.

Personally I think he was talking crap but just thought its better off checking in case I missed something.
Neither of you are right. All powers have 0 or more attack vectors. If the power's attack vector corresponds to one of your defenses, then your defense can apply. People talk about 'typed' or 'positional' attacks, but it really means nothing. It's entirely possible to have a power which uses both Melee_Attack and Ranged_Attack vectors. You can have a power which uses the Energy_Attack vector, but deals fire damage.

The misconception that psionic powers don't have 'positional' types is because Mind Control powers (and the powers which derive from powers in Mind Control, such as Illusion Control's [Blind] and [Deceive]) are all typed as simply Psionic_Attack, with no other vectors. I mean, Fearsome Stare doesn't have AoE_Attack, it only uses Negative_Attack, so it's not limited to psionic powers. Psychic Blast and Psionic Assault powers do incorportate the 'positional' vectors, so it's not a universal truth for psionic powers. And for the converse, there are powers which have a positional vector, without having a typed vector. (Off the top of my head, I believe Siphon Speed fits in this category.)

Stop thinking of Voltaic Sentinel as a pet, and start thinking of it as an attack you use ahead of time.

So, given infinite variations, it's 'cheating' to say that an infinitesimal probability is guaranteed to happen? That's not cheating, that's dictionary definitions.

One of the things I've learned about making games is maintaining self-referential consistency. Which is a fancy phrase which means exactly what you've said. So, since we're now talking about implausible things, anime, and poking holes in Durakken, let's add:

These can be more like story arcs than task forces, especially since you can start them without a team. Lazarus is exactly the same between Heroes and Villains, and Silos is almost the same (same storyline, different sides of the story). Tesseract is not available to Heroes, and Twilight's Son is not available to Villains.

Tessercat's arc poses no significant challenges that I can recall. Twilight's Son has an EB/AV at the end that can be a challenge for some people. Lazarus can be difficult without a team due to multiple simultaneous AVs at the end. I recommend against soloing Silos as a Villain, due to multiple simultaneous AVs at the end (you do get AV allies, though). The Hero version doesn't make them simultaneous.

Depending on your skill and other factors, I wouldn't expect any of the Menders' stories to take much more than 90 minutes.

I assume you're talking about Dr. Quaterfield's Task Force? It's the longest TF in the game, has multiple identical missions in a row, and has more than one simultaneous click objective in it. Even with everyone being on-the-ball are ready throughout the TF, it can take 4 hours.

Hamidon absolutely does not need 6 hours. But you definitely need multiple teams. The game won't let you throw more than 50 players at Hamidon, but you could probably get by with half that for a successful raid.

There is no breaking into the ship. Once the shield comes down, you start planting bombs in top of the ship. After you've planted enough bombs (5? 10? Don't recall), U'Kon Gr'Ai spawns in the center of the dish. That's it. If you've beaten U'Kon Gr'Ai and you've gotten a bunch of Vanguard merits, you've successfully completed the RWZ raid.

No, Tartarus is more akin to the sibling of Gaia and Uranus. In fact, Tartarus and Gaia together spawn the monster Typhon.

Yes, Tartarus is both an entity and a location, but he's not a titan like Cronus, Oceanus, Phoebe, Tethys, ... I don't remember the rest.

    *now I'm looking things up*

Tartarus is one of the Protogenoi, from which all of the gods descend. This group includes Aether (light), Chaos (void), Chronos (time)*, Erebus (darkness), Eros (love), Gaia (earth), Hemera (day), Nyx (night), Ophion (serpent), Phanes (generation), Tartarus (hellpit), and Uranus (heaven).

    * Chronos the protogenos is not to be confused with Chronus the titan.

Definitely. If I were designing the site, I'd probably use the abbreviation in the URL, and maybe as a namespace in the wiki, but elsewhere I'd use the full form, at least for the first occurence on a page. (Or the page header/title)

Recluse is an incarnate of Tartarus. In Greek mythology, Tartarus is essentially hell (where souls go after death if they need to be punished). It's also 'historically' where various (still living) entities were locked away to protect the rulers of the earth at the time. For example, the titan Cronus locked the Cyclopes in Tartarus. Zeus released the Cyclopes, and locked most of the titans in Tartarus when he rose to power.

While Tartarus is a place, it's also a force. Not quite a god or titan, but not inanimate, either. (And therefore, incarnates in CoH aren't necessarily granted power by gods specifically.)

Hesiod says that a hammer falling from heaven to Earth would taken 9 days. Homer asserts that Tartarus is as far below Earth as Earth is below heaven. Tartarus literally means "deep place".

So... the dead go to Hades. The dead who were wicked enough in life to deserve punishment go to Tartarus instead. The source of Recluse's power isn't necessarily evil, in the same sense that Time forcing you to grow older isn't "evil". It just is. But Recluse's incarnate patron is certainly closely tied with evil beings.

Well, Statesman seems to be evil in nearly every dimension we come across, so I don't see why States has to be the only unique and pretty snowflake in our dimension. Why can't Recluse join in on the action of being nearly unique, too (by... being alive? )

I don't know if it's stated explicitly, but it's definitely implied. Pandora's Box is the source of mankind's surges of inspiration throughout history, as well as apparently the source of super powers.

1: Actually, I think it looks nice. You should be able to customize anything you like with any of the skins, but the one you've got there looks good.

2: While the domain is largely irrelevant, I think you should name it just one thing, rather than FBSA and Vanguard. The Federal Bureau of Super-powered Affairs would probably make the most sense considering the content. Venguard are more concerned with Rikti than with superpowered being in general.

    "Wormhole"? No love for Grav?
"Snipe"? I admit I don't usually like snipes myself, but my Rad/Dark actually uses Moonbeam in the middle of combat.

    Dr. Quaterfield?

Some are bad signs on bad teams, but great signs on great teams. Like Team Teleport, or "Watch This".

Updating an MMO's manual? What are you, crazy?!
  24. This is totally doable. After all, they're already doing it: most capes are either the 'standard cape' shape or the 'shoulder cape' shape. Differences like the rounded bottom of the Radioactive cape, or the shortness of the Fringe cape are generally due to the texture applied. Don't forget the CoH Collector's Edition "Cape of the Four Winds", which fades out towards the bottom:
