Statesman is dead already. The devs killed him when they had the Well take over his body, thereby displaying it's pwnership of him, ripping his status as the faceplate of City of Heroes up by the roots and shredding it for mulch.
All this time, it's all been a lie... the mighty Statesman, the great Hero of Paragon City, inspiration for thousands upon thousands of Heroes (and possibly a few Villains)... a mere plaything. A puppet. A pawn. Anything and everything noble and good he's ever done he only did because his Master saw fit to allow it. Or just wasn't paying attention at the moment, perhaps distracted by some new plaything in another dimension.
Alas!
That leaves only two options --
1. States must die!
2. States must be de-incarnated.
Either way, it's over for the mighty Statesman.
/e whips out ukelele, plays 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. -

Watch it again with the sound turned off on the video and play THIS MUSIC instead.
-
Lots of REALLY BIG letters. Horrible awful annoying noise that somebody probably thought was 'music'.
Other than that, wootness incarnate. -
Well, then, they'd better get busy getting those done! If they need someone to stand by and crack the whip occasionally, I'm available. Have whip, will travel.

Quote:Well, my favorite toons don't necessarily have the best names, and my toons with the best names aren't necessarily my favorites. BUT. There are a few that crossover, so to speak. Here's a couple:So...what are YOUR favorite toon's names and how did you come by them?
Office Rocker - electric/ice tanker - was a struggling rockabilly artist (and, occasionally, a really, really bad Elvis impersonator) forced to take a day job. His co-workers (prior to the accident that gave him powers) often said he was off his rocker, so when he registered as a Hero, well...
Trophy Wife - Arachnos Widow - a former beauty queen who married the wrong rich man. When she inadvertently stumbled upon his terrible secret, he had her killed. One of her husband's henchmen, who had 'worshiped her from afar' and all that, made use of certain facilities owned by her husband and almost - almost - brought her back to life. Naturally, she was not particularly happy about the situation...

Quote:You mean he is the 'faceplate' of the game. And, again, we don't know that it's even Statesman anymore! It might be...Statesman is the face of the game, and will continue to be the face of the game
IT.
We can no longer trust Statesman. As Wellathoth's little puppy, he's a tremendous liability - all that power, susceptible to control by an ultradimensional mad... thing. It cannot stand! Something must be done! Heroes! Villains! All must unite to save the world!
For Statesman IS the Coming Storm!
Unless it's really a Cookbook... -
Same here. Although I was initially opposed to signing up I finally caved and created a disposable email account just for Facebook, in case of SPAM, but so far there's been none. I don't play any of those crazy games, and I only accept people I actually know as friends, and I sure as Praetoria don't click on every link that shows up on the 'News Feed'. So far, so good. YMMV.

Quote:"Galaxy City is under extreme Shivan attack. Both Arachnos and Long Bow are on the scene trying to drive them back. A new super powered person trying to save your earth from invaders, you fight your way past the Shivan--"Everything looks like it got answered for you, Sam.
I21/Freedom is shaping up to be a huge issue.
Which new from the comic con floor as I understand it and not in the previous slate of announcements. Beam guns too.
And launch the Statesclad Defense?
"--till you find a hero nearly dead on the ground. You are given the choice to save(hero) or leave(villain) the man on your way to the center of the Shivan invasion. Inside you fight waves of Shivan much like the events in Praetoria until a giant Shivan pops up. Fight him till he crawls away and you can now move on to the newly renovated Atlas Park and Mercy Island."
Oh. Whew. -
Quote:Your statement confirms that it is NOT our Galaxy City. It's our Galaxy City - but it's being updated to match the new look of the updated Atlas Park - the old buildings are being replaced with new ones.
Everybody sing:
We don't need the looks updated
Don't make it look like Atlas Park
No new replacements for old buildings
Dev-ils leave this place alone
Hey! Dev-ils! Leave this place alone! -
Quote:I have a Widow (rogue) with Alpha Nerve T3 - Partial Radial Revamp (I think) and an electric/ice tanker with Alpha Musculature and Spiritual T1s available (started with Musculature, changed my mind and went for Spiritual).So.. who are your incarnates and what level are their powers.
Other than that, I've got three, maybe four 50s with the Alpha slot unlocked - but if anything ever gets slotted on any of those, it will be due to happenstance and not because I actively pursued getting the necessary components. I'm pretty much done with the Incarnate stuff and won't bother to unlock the Alpha slot on any more characters.
It's all about alts for me. So, hooray for proliferation, new power sets, and new costume pieces! -
Since I pretty much gave up on Marvel some time ago, Power Girl and Batgirl have been the two comics that have kept me going back to the comic book shop. Both have been relatively self-contained books, without a lot of the Big Damn Deal crossover BS that I have come to absolutely HATE. I've been picking up Zatanna, Flash, JLA, and Journey Into Mystery (or Thor, or whatever the heck it is) as well, but without PG and Batgirl to anchor it all... meh.
Maybe I'm just getting too old for this. -
Quote:How do we know that's even Statesman? It might be the Well using him!I like the idea that Statesman is just 'participating' in the counterattack like the rest of the Primal Incarnates.
It's not like he's facing off solo-god-moding the iTrials, he's just smacking robo-faces.
Just think: we can never, ever, ever be sure of anything Statesman says or does ever again. Is it him... or IT? -
Quote:First thought: way too pretty!
Yeah I read that too, Mental Giant. I think this pic has a "Brienne quality" to it. Is she prettier than you'd expect? Absolutely (see Tyrion) but there is enough plainess in there to capture the character. The real selling point is going to be her freakish height, which is really where a lot of Briennes insecurities come from much in the same way with Tyrion. Also remember Jaime notes she has beautiful eyes.
Actress: I didn't get the part!
Friend: Why not?
Actress: They said I was... too good looking! Waaah!
Friend: Yeah, boo hoo.
But I guess wonders can be worked with makeup. And yep, after seeing pictures of her towering over more 'normal' sized women, that's definitely going to help.
It's been a long time since I read A Clash of Kings - is that where Brienne is introduced? For some reason I was thinking it was later on... -

Quote:Wound + Salt + Rub = GG.Don't forget it's also being left behind graphics-wise - it's not going to have any time wasted on it, while other zones will be getting a new ultra mode friendly look - the echo zone is going ot become more and more of a pre-Freedom relic as time goes on - putting new content in an out-of-date zone that doesn't even exist in the game story anymore isn't going to happen.
