Heh, no, I don't think it's a democracy at all, and the only thing preventing the players from exercising their absolute power over the developers and the development of the game is, we can't ever agree on what we want or how we want it.
  5. Just imagine if those currently useless information kiosks could be used for SG recruitment.

Someone looking for an SG could simply go to one, click to see what SGs are recruiting, maybe even find some info about the various SGs listed, and then contact the appropriate recruiter(s).

Someone looking for SG members could list their SG there, along with pertinent information for potential members to peruse at their leisure.

Probably too much trouble to do.

And people would probably still send the "looking for sg?" tells.

    Alas!

  7. If it's true that the forums are not representative of the playerbase at large then the handful of folks here vigorously complaining about AE exploits are a minority among the minority.

Hardly even a blip on the proverbial radar.

    Not of the Body.

Query: what if the number of paying customers merrily taking advantage of this wonderful XP windfall - who either don't know or don't care about previous pontifically positronic threats of post-PL-ative punishment - is greater by far than the number of those paying customers complaining about it on the forums?

Er. I mean, ewie, that's gross!
  9. X-wings also had shields and you could double them up on the front or rear if necessary. A-wings were still cooler, though.

  16. It's been suggested that the zombies might be moving out of the cities due to lack of food...

How long does it take for a zombie to starve? How does eating keep them going, anyway? The bottomless zombie in the first episode - anything it ate would just come sliding right back out. So how was it still going?

Yes, these things still ahem plague me in regard to this zombie invasion. I have no problem with *magical/supernatural* zombies (or even sword-weilding skeletons as seen in The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad) because, well, it's magic. But these guys...

What makes them tick, so to speak?
  17. Vague spoiler alert!

I like this particular plot device/thingee. It was used to excellent effect in the X-files, Xena, Buffy, and ST:TNG. The one person, though, that I will never forgive for using it is that (hack!) Stephen King.

Anyway. Looks interesting. I suspect I know the ending, but maybe not.

  20. I just logged on to one of my lowbies over on Virtue, redside. Within 90 seconds, I got a tell:

    Unknown Recruiter: need SG?

Me: heya - not at the moment, but thanks for asking. :-)

No, no! It's fire, all right, but it's Friendly Fire! It has a special component that detects evil and only harms those with actual evil intent, and even then it only amounts to a mild slap on the wrist. If it hits someone who is good it turns into Healing Flames.

I think they should make it a vet reward, but not one based on time played. Rather, award it based on the number of alts played. Anyone with more than, say, 20 alts above level 30 would get the 'Glutton for Punishment' (alternately, 'Been There/Done That/Doing it Again Tomorrow') badge and non-retroactively punishable access to Cheeky Monkeys through levels 1-22!

Might have been easier to implement than Inherent Fitness.
  23. And here we go again. Replied to a post. Noticed that underneath my avatar the online/offline thing said I was offline. Scrolled up, and yup - I'd been logged off of the forums.

I wonder who thought the effects of Hasten were best represented visually by fire. Perhaps this person was inspired by the archetypal old man shouting at some young person zipping by, "Hey, where's the fire?" Too bad powers like Repulsion Field don't make use of grass. That would be truly epic.

If it was just you, just the once, no, it wouldn't be 'spamming'.

But what you're not seeing here is, you're not the only one who does this. There are others out there doing pretty much the same thing. After a while, all those 'single' instances blend together and become... say it with me... SPAM. And it no longer matters to the 'spammee', so to speak, that this was the first and only time YOU, personally, did it.

That's probably where the guy was coming from.
