  1. I'm looking to update the build on my first toon and old main. I abandoned him after discovering scrappers and brutes but now I'm wanting something a bit more diverse and challenging. I've tried playing other blasters but always had the most fun on my Elec/Elec "Blaptroller" (I always hated that term... seems so derogatory). I tried playing with Electric Control on both doms and trollers but didn't like the overall feel of the set. So, I decided that it's time to revisit Ionic-Strike. I decided on Mu Mastery over Electrical Mastery because I thought putting a hold proc in Electrifying Fences might be interesting and I rarely used Surge of Power anyway. I was trying to make the build as versatile as possible without gimping it. I already have all the IOs for this so cost isn't so much an issue. Anyway, any advice is welcome.

    I'm trying to rework my SS/WP Brute now that I'm so close to having enough A-merits to purchase a glad +3% recipe. I was working toward getting soft-capped s/l and respectable e/n defense. Beyond that I wanted +regen, +hp, and to a lesser extent +recharge. So, here goes:

    I was trying to get around 32-33% s/l defense so I have a little buffer from damage and after that I was trying to pile on recharge, regen and +hp.

    I've actually been using that name for a couple years now. I have characters on most servers with it, it's even been my global since I started playing in the mac beta. So, I'm not too worried about being gen'd for it.

    Thanks for the info about Street Justice not being in mids yet though, I suppose making SJ builds right now is a little hasty. I'll just have to wait until it goes live. Thanks again.

  8. I logged in today to find that the thumb side buttons on my Logitech mouse no longer seem to work properly. The first mouse I tried was a Logitech MX400, and the side buttons seemed to rotate the camera left and right and after using them, all the rest of the buttons stopped working properly. I thought that maybe it was the mouse so I plugged in my Logitech MX Revolution and that one had the same problem. I tried resetting my bind files in COH and checked to make sure the preferences were correct for the mouse on my computer but nothing seems to help.
    I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. I'm running OS X 10.6.8.

    So, I've been playing around with the idea of a Kat/FA toon. I've played a Firey Aura tank before and I know how squishy they can feel, so I was trying to build for defense. Also, I don't have hasten in the build because I hate the way it looks but I can fit it in if it's a must have. This is my first attempt at this build, so far I have melee defense soft-capped with one DA and aoe is just a small purple away. I'm not sure if I'm going about this all wrong, so any advice would be welcome. Thanks!

  17. Thank you for the advice. I knew it was activation percentage and not a 100% debuff, but I didn't know the actually debuff numbers, so thank you for those as well. I think I am going to go with the -to hit since combined with the WP taunt aura and soft-capped defense I'll almost never get hit.
  18. So, I have a lvl 50+3 SS/WP brute. I chose Diamagnetic for my Interface slot because the -regen intrigued me. My question is: for my T4, should I get the 100% -regen/50% -to hit or the 100% -to hit/50% -regen. The reason I ask is because since my only aoe attacks are Footstomp and the Judgment power, I feel that 50% -regen will be plenty for boss/EB/AV encounters (where I'm focusing on single target attacks) and the 100% -to hit will be more effective for my occasional Footstomp/Judgment.

    I'm just wondering if my thoughts on this are logical, since I don't really see too much of a benefit to having the 100% -regen over the -to hit without a damage aura or lots of aoe.
  19. I'm pretty sure the recharge from the Alpha slot is ignored by the Judgment slot. So the recharge would still be 90 seconds.

  21. I've tried the Lambda Sector Trial twice and encountered the same problem both times. At the point where the team enters the lab and storage sections of the facility, I hit terrible lag. I preemptively set all my graphics to the lowest setting before starting the trial (all sliders down, very low for background and character details, particle effects and geometry buffers turned off), but was still unable to move more than a couple inches at a time in the storage section. The lab was a little better but not by much. The only time I could move is if I positioned the camera to face the wall, but then I couldn't see where I was going.

    I'm running a 17" Macbook Pro with 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, and a GeForce 8600M GT. I seem to only be having trouble with the new content (Praetoria/Incarnate Trials).
  22. Might be interesting with stone to have some of the attacks come out of the ground like a longer distance, single target stalagmite. The rest could just have stone envelope the players hands (like stone melee) and fire shards at the enemy.
  23. Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought about putting GSFC into tactics but that's a great idea. As for the presence pool, I actually leveled this toon up with the medicine pool but found I NEVER used it since I always had a green insp or two on me and I could pop those during combat. So, I swapped for the presence pool and found that the fear effects make for great crowd control and have actually increased my survivability.

    Thanks again for the feedback, I'll head back to mids to swap a couple things.
  24. I didn't want to start a new thread for this so I thought I'd post here. So, I've been trying to play around with this build for a couple days, but this is my first blaster so I might have done this all wrong. Influence is really not an issue. I was trying to get soft-capped ranged defense, and after that I just went for accuracy, damage and recharge. Am I doing this right?
