What ol Candleschtick fails to mention here while he's beating his own drum is that he actually lost to Tiger the day before, then made it up by beating him twice afterwards the next day. Ive now had at least 2 people tell me this is the case.

Also- Im rather careful with the word 'skill' around Candle, Zen- an Invul Brute with the Dull Pain/Aide Self build is about the easiest build to play in the game, and one of the hardest to out-DPS the defenses.

Ill give him credit for slotting a build thats about as carbon copy as it gets, but thats about as far as it goes.....

ur a spines/Regen that runs at the slightest wiff of a challenge.

    gfy.

And no, I never lost to this guy. Blood beat him 4-0.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Translation: "Since you wont sit still and let me pound on you-even though when you did Ive never killed you straight up- you run from what I deem are 'challenges.' (Even though you and I both know a Spines/Regen wont out-damage my resistances and my cake eater 'easy button' build. Damn you for playing smart and gaining tons of rep and bounty each time you set foot in the zone-even when Im there."

A spines/regen calling a stone/invul brute an 'easy button', some classic lulz up in here.

What about a more aggressive and random zone environment?
<ul type="square">[*]Random, aggressive , non factional zone spawns: Imagine a spawn of Nemesis or Council ambushing players in the middle a PvP battle. (haha they aren't paying attention get 'em). [*]Weather and terrain should be a factor, just like in real war:
    - A heavy fog kicks in, slapping a hefty -acc debuff on all zone occupants.
    - Surprise ice storms with -speed and - recharge for the entire zone.
    - Quicksand patches, land mines, hidden freeze rays, pop up gun turrets..scattered through the zone, no one has any idea where they would appear.[/list]The environment not only becomes an active PvP participant, but also could be either your ally or your enemy. Since zones already are designed with some of this in place, it isn't that much of stretch.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If anything NPC's need to go

And the random zone weather thing is just ridiculous, I don't want to be in a fight and all of a sudden lose because I just got held or slowed by some random patch outta the sky.

And they need to reduce the timer on reputation - 10 mins seems like forever

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wouldnt mind a zone like that, but not all of them.

OMG! finally some 1 from the villains side tells it like it is,,you are 100% right on the mark ,its useless for me lvl 50 assault rifle/fire manipulation,to go into PVP,but every couple of months i do anyways and as always the stalkers are layin in wait,i'll get stunned then AS'd,if i'm still standing placated even tho i have tactics 4 slotted w/tohits unable to target then i'll try to get away, only to get stunned again then even w/ a tray full of breakfree's unable to target or if i do get off a shot its dodged or does about as much damage as brawl in pve,by that time placate has recharged already, and on the rare occaisions i can target him w/snipe + buildup and actually hit him my "unresistable damage"does about as much harm as my burst shot does in pve,so whats the use of me going into harms way if i don't stand a chance of winning? its very unbalanced as far i can see, even w/ full teams vs 1-2 stalkers the kill ratio always goes to the villains, stalkers resist every thing we have to throw at them i can stun AV's w/bean bag st times for up to 5 full seconds but stun a stalker? or hold or immobalize? not likely, and when it does happen they shake it off before i can get off another shot,,for my to even have half a chance to do any kind of major damage to a stalker ,my damage should be atleast 3/4ths as much as theirs if not equal example my snipe should do just as much damage as assasins strike, but its barely scratches them,,so if the devs want more heroes in on PVP then do somthing about stalkers placate, and a stalkers abillity to resist everything,,,thanks

Only reason I have Hero-Villain Balance in the tenth spot is that it will obviously be a lot more work, and a lot more drama with the buffs/nerfs. I'd love to see it, sure, but I'd expect the other things on the list are simpler to do, and I'd rather see a bunch of them get done first.

PvP is the dregs of the internet given the anonymity to indulge their immature tendencies in an environment that rewards them.

Im having an issue getting into Rp mostly because of the really totally off the wall things people advance as story lines. I could deal with most things, but plot lines like super farting and an attack from an army of super wrestlers under the command of cloned drow elves is a little far out there.

That'd be the best thing ever.

I was always under the impression that MM maps are invisibly split into separate, defined sections, and that stepping into each new section spawns another group of Longbow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was my thought as well.
  14. Yeah. tis a good idea indeed.
  15. Actually, that IS a good idea.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
so heres a question, did u guys ever think of making pvp more than just an option? put some contacts for story arc missions there, so everybody has to go in sometime, after all, heros n villans should have a lil more actual interaction than basic "jump in n kill em". make the zones(pvp) a place u need to go, instead of a place u want to go, like the other zones. just a thought

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nah... making it necessary for people to PvP is a bad idea.

so double it, triple it, (which would be a far stretch on the two servers I play on...) it still represents a minority of what the player base is here for

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're not getting it. Enough with the segregation of players into 'pvp' and 'not pvp'. It simply doesn't WORK like that.

Yes, there is a hard core of 'I will never ever PvP' people out there. But that says absolutely nothing about all the players who PvP casually, or dip into it, or PvP part time, or who otherwise evade that neat, silly, non-representative segregation.

PvP is a FEATURE, not a side that you take.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you are reading into what I said - nowhere did I state its a side, the simple fact is the majority of players are here for PvE - many self included dabble in it, since its there - but we'd prefer that dev resources went into another FEATURE, which given what resources are available, was basically what Lighthouse stated, and was jumped on.

I don't disagree with you at all, but I don't think it changes their priorities nor justification.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem here is, you say 'we' when the only person you can speak for is you. Much like anyone else with an opinion on the matter.

I also respect people who don't like PvP and who like the other metagames in this game (badges, bases, costumes, etc.) more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

to bad they dont have the same respect for people that do enjoy the pvp in this game, they will take every chance they get to bash it in any post about pvp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hate to say it, but that type of behaviour isnt limited to the anti PvP crowd. Jerks on both sides of the fence.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
The intention of my post was not to dash all hopes of any change in PvP, but to help illustrate why those changes hadn't been a hot topic with design. I know that a lot of their time, when it isn't currently spent getting Issue 8 out the door, is working on some of the very broad and exciting stuff coming in issue 9 that will add a lot to the game over all (inventions + other goodies).

I do really like the suggestion about trying to re-use the old event where everyone got a level 40 on Training Room to come PvP with. That sounds like it might have some good broad appeal and make for a pretty darn fun weekend. Of course, I haven't investigated it with the dev team and it might not be possible, but still a good idea to follow up on. Besides, I'd like to play a few different Archetypes myself at lvl 40 with a hord of other folks to blast at or along side with. Let's try and focus the discussion on things we can do under the current systems?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that many PvPers would be happy just getting the existing PvP options to works correctly first. Mainly, fixing the arena and brute fury off the top of my head.
