I *love* my DM/ELA buzzsaw build. It's just fun. I have 4 damage procs in 2 powers. Sweet, I know.

I tear through paper missions with him at full speed.

Use /ELA brutes for what they're good at. Moving from mob to mob and killing everything very quickly. Don't try to farm or herd, that's not its strength.

I also like my FM/DA brute. It's more for show than play but he can be fun too.

Mike Hunt is in use. I'm reporting that one too!

Eunuch works. People would have to look that word up because it's not spelled like you'd expect it to be spelled. And people are lazy so those that would report a gem of a name like Enormous Genitals wouldn't report Eunuch because they wouldn't know what it meant.

Time to check if the name is available!

Anyway I got rung up on charges of being lewd and licisvious or however you spell that word.

The name would have to be coy enough so the folks changing the name won't understand it. Captain Huge [censored] and Balls might not slip under their radar.

I might petition the Enormous Genitals generic thing. Neither word or the combination of words are offensive. Everyone has genitals. His just happen to be enormous.

If all else fails I can try a name like Camo but I think that might be taken already.

My Illusion/Rad got his named genericed.

His name was Enormous Genitals. I'm going to rename him to Larger than Life Cojones.

If that's taken I'll try [censored] Monster.

Any other ideas for names are welcome.

If you can afford to IO out the toon go Shield (touch of death, obliteration, lotgs). Otherwise go WP.

What I usually do is I keep Advanced Totals up. If you look at it with 1 Health in there the time it takes to go from 0 to 100% health is 120 seconds. If you 3 slot it with Health it'll still take 120 seconds to go from 0 to 100. Just mouse over the Regeneration bar.

With a WP that depends on +Regen, or a toon with a lot of +Regen bonusses it might be worth 3 slotting. People usually use it for the Numina and Miracle Uniques but you don't need it with this guy since you have Powersink.

Regarding the blessing of the Zephyr, yes it'll work in any travel power even when it's not toggled on (SS, CJ, SJ, Hover, Fly) but won't work in sprint or swift.

EDIT: Oh and one more thing, just run task forces with him. You don't have to farm them but if you're active again and you have a toon you like playing, run task forces. You'll load up on merits pretty quick.

200 merits from task forces will get you a LOTG Unique. It's easier than it sounds.

A few things I see (nice build by the way):

1) Weave isn't necessary unless you want the bonusses. The defense numbers are too low overall. If you're going to keep it go with 3 red fortunes and 1 lotg 7.5 unique. It's only 200 merits at the vendor. If you drop Weave you can take a patron power. Or maybe drop Weave and Whirling Hands and you can take back your Focused Accuracy. I am in love with Darkest night however.

2) You ran into the same problem I did on my EM/ELA -- you're at 4 power pools. I went Hasten/SS. The +recharge is nice and you want those hard hitting EM attacks firing off as much as possible. You can buy a jetpack to get over walls.

3) Slot a blessing of the Zephyr Knockback protection in SS. Maybe slot a Karma Knockback protection in a defense power or a Steadfast Knockback protection in a Resistance power. This is nice for those times you're off the ground like when fighting Hami in the LGTF.

4) Power surge doesn't need a resistence IO. Look at the Advanced totals. You're capped at 90% resistences without it.

5) You also don't need 3 slots in Health.

6) I wouldn't go Impervium Armor for the Resistence IO. Go with any of the other 3 that give +HP. By the end of it you'll have 100+ HP. Defense isn't going to mean a lot with an ELA. You can still slot the Impervium Armor Psi Resist tho.

So you can move those slots around elsewhere. Put a 5th slot in Whirling Hands (swap Weave and Whirling Hands) and go with 5 Stupefy for another 6.25.

I'm going to be respeccing my EM/ELA brute (he has a real old build) so I can take the LOTG Uniques out of him .

I just don't play him enough.

In the end just have fun with it, looks like you're on the right track.

Take power sink last or something. It is possible. Drop the accuracy from Whirling hands. Drop 2 slots from Health.

You can make it work.

I've never taken FA due to the huge end cost. I guess if you intend to PVP it might be alright but YMMV.

My first ELM toon was a Willpower. The 2nd was a shield. The shield needs IOs to work. The Willpower works fine on generics.

I suggest Willpower.

You can take both, just drop the last 2 powers. Your "throw away" power would be Aid Other.

I was thinking the same thing. You made the right IO choices for proper bonuses but you can get up to 56% melee defense by actually slotting up your shields.

Drop the 5 slots from brawl and Health only needs a slot or 2. 3 slot Stamina.

So you have the right idea but you just need to be redirected a little bit.

HP and Regen

I'm perfectly happy with putting off the dom buffs until like forever.

It's typically touch of death / kinetic crash, obliteration and reactive armor.

Forget DM, go elec/shield.

Not much is left standing after buildup, Lightning Rod and Shield Charge. If something is left standing use Thunderstrike.

Dead mobs > mitigation

I built this out minus the numi, miracle and lotg uniques. Instead of 56% melee defense I have around 53.

Anyway it performs well. After playing for several hours yesterday I only encountered critical defense failure 2 or 3 times. Once against Arachnos and twice against Romans.

It's not the best brute in the world but does better than average.
