  1. I usually run +2/x2. The biggest pain is being immob'd, held or stunned.

    Movement stops.

Seems that the mouse is your issue. I've had the same problem in the past. I just got a new mouse. If you use a wireless mouse try changing the batteries.

    Restalling the game did.

Sorry just didn't want to mess with it anymore and that was at last a fix that worked while I took care of the baby.
I posed it as a question there Punky Brewster. You didn't mention what OS you were running.

I'm glad it's working for you now and I'm sorry we weren't able to come up with a solution for you.

  4. Go for 45% ranged defense. It's a beautiful thing. I've done this with several of my corruptors:

    - nrg/kin
    - elec/storm
    - ice/dark
    - ice/kin
    - fire/cold

You can pickup powersink from one of the patrons for the end recovery.
  5. And you're running Vista? It could be a permissions issue. Try logging in as administrator or as the poster above suggested, try running the program as administrator.
  6. Just a couple of quick ideas:

    - Is your hard drive full?
    - Is the folder marked as read only? Can you try creating a text file and saving it in that folder? Try copying cityofheroes.exe manually to see what happens.
    - Maybe there's a lock on the file or folder, try rebooting.

    MY double Xp

    Congrats on the MORSF.

No level 45 sweet spot really slows things down. I got my earth/earth dom from level 30 or so to level 43 but that was from running on a lot of teams and 2 ITFs. Trying to grind through any farms was a bit of a drag.

So shouldn't it default to this option then? It doesn't make sense to require that it be set.

I dunno, smells a bit fishy to me.
  9. Someone mark the day this gets fixed on live. Then remember to mark the day it crops up again.
  10. Rewards
    • Fixed an issue where Level 50 (level capped) characters did not receive double influence when they exemplared down (with that option selected).
    --

Hmmm why is this a bug? Why would level 50 characters get double influence? They don't get any more XP.

Heck if it works like this I'm gonna have to check it out!
  11. Why not have the next person logoff until a 50 got the lead again?

You're not going to put an end to all speculation and theories on the internets by proving something as inane as this. And maybe I should've changed the words "suppose to be" to "strongly suggests". We're not curing cancer here, y'know?

Relax, have fun and go earn some double XP outside of AE.

I'm speaking of the last double xp weekend where it WAS working, yet noone would say whether or not it was suppose to. That's for the link I was asking for. Whether or not it was suppose to work in AE originally.
You're silly. Admitting that it's a bug/oversight that it wasn't enabled in a GMOTD by a redname suggests to me that it was supposed to be enabled and that when it was enabled last time, it was intentional.

Am I missing something or are you just looking for a link in order to prove someone wrong? The GMOTD should be enough.
  14. The benefit to running AE farms instead of PI or GV farms is that you can run them in RWZ.

However I did confirm that AE farms are not giving double XP.

It's back to PI and GV for you all!
  15. Sounds like it's time to flash the Arbiter Kim symbol!
  16. First a suggestion: just reply to the thread you started on this yesterday instead of creating a new one.

Now I'm not sure about this but it may be that you already have vent open.

Exit out of vent or check Windows Task Manager to see if it's running. If it is, kill it. Then try reopening vent.

If all else fails try rebooting.

Aside from that I'm not sure why vent would just close on its own.

If you get a specific error message please post that as well.

    Good luck.

  18. This is coverred on the ventrillo forums.

The fix is to run ventrillo as administrator. I don't have Vista but if you right click on the icon you use to open up vent and look through the properties, you'll see an option to run it as Administrator.

  19. Ebay has nothing to do with this particular player we're ridiculing. This tank he has less than 3 months under his belt. Ebay was mentioned just for the sake of mentioning it.

I don't think this was a case of needing these powers for any sort of concept. It appears to be more of a case of "oh I wonder what these powers do". The same type of experience I had as a noob. He could be 8 for all we know and was just putzing around wihle his mom was in the kitchen cooking him some lunch.

We don't need to figure it out though. We're just supposed to look at the noob build and say "oh no he did-nt!" then snap a couple of times.

I'd be surprised if one reader came through here and said "oh, now I know not to take phase shift on my tank".

I think any archetype specific advice should be moved into the archetype specific forums and in addition to that, much better advice can be given.

    1) Take temp invulnerability. It's one of your bread and butter powers
    2) On most toons you'll want Stamina by 20. There are 2 prerequisites to this, sprint or hurdle and health
    3) You're going to want to 3 slot stamina
... so on and so forth.

In the end this particular thread doesn't help anyone.

Off topic -- Tax_E, kudos for you for being able to play with that power tray laid out like that. I'd never be able to do it.

    AE babies

I made a quick 15 second one here.

Nothing great but I wanted to see how it was done. Limited but easy to throw together.
  21. Be nice!

Check their vet badges. As a noob I took whirlwind and flurry on my scrapper. I could knock down baddies with whirlwind and flurry seemed like a good power. On my first invuln I skipped one of the 2 core powers because I didn't really understand how it worked and figured I didn't need it.

If you have no prior experience to base decisions on I could see someone taking concealment to see what it's like. Or a kin taking medicine because it's another heal.

Not everyone starts this game running at full speed or has someone to mentor them.

Regarding ignoring the chat maybe he didn't know english or didn't have the chat window up or just wasn't paying attention. Or he might have heard about this thread and knew responding would only encourage the brow beating.
  22. I played with this idiot energy/kin corruptor. He had repel and whirlwind and he's just an all around putz. Who in their right mind takes whirlwind and repel?

I'm pretty sure he did it on purpose too!

Actually I know he did, I'm the idiot energy/kin.
  23. They should just roll it back to the way it was before i16. Kinda silly to roll out a half baked feature.
