  1. Why is this a bug? They want you to "find" the exit. No need for a map marker.
  2. Waitaminute, Sweet Sarah is a guy!?!?!?
  3. I ran a +2 all shield and 1 kin ITF. We destroyed it. It's a shame I can't do that again.

At least the regular missions work with the new difficulty settings.
  4. I've never run into this but I haven't setup a new account in the last 2 years. None of the booster packs, slots or renames I've bought have had this issue either. They're very willing to take my money.

I suggest calling PlayNC to sort it out. Their number is on their website.

It could be that you're trying to steal someone's credit card. If that's the case, stop doing that you bad boy.
  5. Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure if it's cookie worthy yet! I can't bring up the task manager but hitting the power button on my computer cleanly closes the game and all of the other programas pretty quickly.

You could be right and it might be the memory issue but showing itself differently under Windows 7.

I'll keep a cookie in the warming tray.

Here's the COH Helper. I run on the basic recommended settings. I didn't feel like futzing around with it too much after instaling the OS and the game.

  8. A cookie goes to whoever can correctly answer either of these quirks. If you are able to answer both then you get a tray full of brownies.

    Issue #1

When I launch COH I disable visual themes and disable desktop composition within the program's properties (under Compatability). This makes any switching I may do while in the game faster.

If I exit to desktop it usually restores all of the pretty Aero features.

Now what's happening is that the taskbar auto preview and peek are not working. This doesn't happen all of the time, just some of the time. A reboot fixes it. I tried changing from basic to advanced themes and double checking the options but the only thing that appears to be breaking are the taskbar auto preview and peek. Snap, Shuffle, Shake and Bake, everything else works.

    Issue #2

After a fairly long play session (a few hours maybe) when I go to login as a new toon I'm stuck at the character select screen. It lets me select a character and click on Enter Rogue Isles but I then get the busy cursor. I can't alt tab, I don't hear any loading sounds, I'm stuck.

Now here's the kicker, I can push my vent push to talk key and talk to people and they can and do respond back. I can also press the power down button and Windows gracefully closes all of the programs then shuts down the OS. I start my computer back up and I'm in business again.

    ---

This is a clean install of Windows 7.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions.

    support?

QP posted in the tech section about this and Grouchybeast gave some sound advice.

Speculation and observation are terrible terrible things.

Since QP's posting here, I was on an ITF within the last week where QP got an Absolute Aamazement (that's a purple).

Now from my own observations I have gotten mostly generic IOs, a handful of set pieces and no purples since i16.

If I ever want to prove it's a bug I'll follow GrouchyBeast's advice.

  11. They need a real QA team then. Just like they invested in development they need to do the same for QA.

Having the team list bug crop up after the last patch is almost inexcusable. What does it take to reproduce that bug? Run with a team.

They need a team dedicated to testing specific things. The cycle for testing and regression testing should be the same each time. It only gets added to when new features are added.

This process definitely needs to be improved and a reinvestment here will make the vocal minority happy but is it worth it if the majority just accepts it?

I only do flashbacks for badges required for accolades which isn't often and most of the TFs I do are speed runs so I'm not part of the affected group here. But it sure sounds like a doozy.
  12. The only bugs that get fixed immediately are exploits. So lets exploit this then it'll get fixed.

  14. Yeah that's pretty ******. I've been told to grow up but that's something I wholeheartedly agree with. It won't happen but I agree with it.

I've been a good boy lately.

It won't be long before I have a reputation to rival Beano's.
  15. Got it. I guess I haven't changed settings in a long time. I always used to click apply then either close the window or click cancel. If I clicked cancel it was undoing what I applied. If I closed the window it wasn't saving the resoution setting.

So I just exited the game with the Options screen up.

Counter-intuitive for me but it's working now.

    Thanks,
    Fitz
  16. Hiya,

The game runs but any options changed within the game aren't applied (graphics and sound).

I turned off UAC and rebooted my computer but still no luck.

It installed fine, I see the key in the registry but I'm not sure why new settings aren't taking affect.

    Help is appreciated.

    Thanks muchly,
    Fitz

Posi mentionned it wont be an easy and fast switch. It won't be like you are playing on your hero and your friend logs in with a villain, and you decide to go villain (or just Vigialante) so you can team up with him in the Rogue Isles. It seems to involve many missions and arcs that will shift your morality meter one side or the other. It might involve some penalties, or losing perks and stuff like that, so that changing morality is not a light decision.
Most of this game's content can be sped through. 22 minute ITFs, 40 minute STFs, 24 minute LGTFs, 30 minute RSFs, etc. I doubt this switch will be very difficult. Will the intention be to make it difficult? Possibly. Will it be easy? Probably.

We'll have to wait and see.
  18. What would stop someone from creating a villain archetype, becoming a hero, using WW to build out the toon then switching back over to a Villain?

Have they come out with a reason for not merging the markets? Technical issue? Low priority?
  19. FitzSimmons

    Made it here!!

Oh dear! Thanks for the warning Beano, I'm covering all of the furniture with plastic.
  20. I think people will need to see a hijackthis and cohhelper log to see what happened.

How do you accidentally install 3 programs by the way? Have you tried to accidentally uninstall them to see if that fixes the problem and allows you to go back to 32bit settings?

    bugs with drops

I team with QP a fair amount and if this is true (nothing other than generic drops accross multiple toons) then it is pretty interesting. We've run ITFs, STFs, lower level TFs, etc.

Grouchy's feedback is pretty solid. I'm going to give him a smiley face sticker.

  24. Funny this post is here. I just got a low virtual memory warning. This was after a couple of hours dual boxing on a trick or treat time. I dual box all the time and this hasn't happened before.

I'm not too worried about it.

We also got the mapserver which affected everyone in zone. First time I've seen it happen on Liberty, a generally low pop server.

Anyway, good luck with your issue, I'm not going to put in any effort debugging mine but if it happens after this halloween event I'll take another look.
