Tried to update my MAC client today and it kept getting stuck in a loop. Deleted the program and did a new install, that did not help. Removed the program and the NC Launcher program so I could download a new installer and that did not work either.
Problem occurs when I try to play i get a message "Download patch does not match expected hash". After clicking continue 20-30 times, a prompt comes up saying "Applications/City of Heroes.app/PS/CityOfHeroes_Main_0.0.0.0To0.0.0.1/PatchManifest.xml could not be loaded!". Before anyone says the standard "delete the manifest", I followed that path and found the the xml file can't be loaded because there is no file to load.
I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8. I can understand a update not working but I downloaded a new client to install. That should always work. Whats the problem here? -
No way. We don't need a Tanker Czar or Dominator Dictator. Last thing I'd want to see is a player deciding what is or isn't important for the devs to hear. If the Dev's want input from players, they ask and the players respond. We don't need someone to filter it out for them. Let them do it themselves.

Well, they are not very good and cost too much in salvage to be worth anything but that was before the auction house made it easier to get the base salvage and components. Now they are just not very good except for the 3 or 4 mentioned.
-
Last I heard, there was a bug about that salvage. Something about it not being awarded at all.

Perhaps not.
However - if you exemp down and join someone else's PvP zone mission, do you get salvage matching your actual level, or the level of the mission?
[/ QUOTE ]
If your talking about invention stuff, the level of the salvage is determined by the level of the mobs you fight as is the level for the class A mob kills recipes. The class B mission end recipes that are awarded at the end of a mission are awarded at your level regardless of sk or exemp status. -
I have no problems with requiring special salvage for it. I just have problems with require a specific task to get that salvage.
-
No. You shouldn't have to go that far out of your way to craft something.

I already put it in the real thread but I'll put it here too. I would like something other then a teleporter like a drop ship that you can attach beacons to. Have the drop ship drop you off at a zone. Thinking a larger version of the veteran reward ships that you can place in your base.
Works the same as a teleporter, you click and get a list. Then hop in and go. -
A lot of base items don't work in some way:
Robo surgery does not attach (functional bug)
Stealth Surpressor stops playing animation after a while (visual)
Be nice to have those fixed. There are other defensive items that seem to stop working after a while too.
As for new stuff to suggest:
A new teleporter that holds more the 2 beacons. Maybe have some fun with it and make it a drop ship you climb aboard and it drops you off at the zone. -
Seriously, you think that rep farmers are getting the disruptor badge so they can get items for base raids? You think they want anything to do with PVP? which is what base raids are, PVP.

Recipe Name: Soaring (Fly/End)
Drop circumstances - mob kills (Pool A) -

Keep in mind that Back Alley Brawler, who watched us several times attempting to raid, stated that we had all the pieces but didn't put them together right. At least the way they felt it should be done. So there is something we didn't see or ignored that could be the key to this.

See sig. He clearly told us the key.

LOL! Does anyone still have the link to that picture? -

I tried from another PC I have where I'm not logged into my account. The beta forums did not appear while everything else did.

Remember, that person was going in alone. You can check out both or Maruts Strat threads, as well as the Hamidon Tactical center for a lot of details on how we did things.

They can't Lemur, the closed beta forums are still closed to everyone outside of the test. We have to copy all of that stuff over here so not to repeat it. I sure am glad I didn't author any other those guides. -
Problem I saw villain side was the lack of EoE's and not a lot to work with in terms of AT's available. There just wasn't a variety like we had hero side.
-
Well this is probably the most helpful item I've seen someone do for others that play. You should have them sticky it or send in a request to have the names added to the color selection menu and appear when you move the mouse over them.
Just out of curiosity, those of you that are color blind, how have you been picking the colors anyway? -

Player A1 puts up a Level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Player B1 puts up the same Level 12 TO for 1,000 inf.
Player A2 (trying to transfer funds) offers to buy that level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Since player B1 wants less, and is obviously trying to move his items faster, his "for sale" is processed first, so he ends up with 5,000,000 inf (minus fees).
[/ QUOTE ]
Player C see's player A1 put an item for sale at 5,000,000 and suspects that he is trying to transfer funds.
Player C places Level 12 TO for 999 inf.
Player A2 (trying to transfer funds) offers to buy that level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Since player C wants less and to screw over player A1, his "for Sale" is processed so he ends up making 4,999,001 inf profit (minus fees).
[/ QUOTE ]
But player C can't see that player A put it up for 5.000.000, he just sees that player A has a Level 12 TO for sale.
Now, he can try to post his lvl 12 TO at 999, in the hope that player A has a higher price set. Or he can try offering to buy the TO for 1000, to see if it's priced higher. Therin lies the posibility of it being priced at eg. 1, so player C loses 999 (not much I know).
Or player A could check how many TO's of the kind he's trying to use to transfer and if he sees another has popped up for sale he can simply abort, or try offering 1000-10000 inf first to see if someone is trying to scam him.
Honestly, the way this system looks to be set up, unless you're unlucky enough to confirm the offer in the same second someone puts another enh for sale at a lower price, just using simple caution should get you past all scams.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good point.
So player C will always list at 1 inf and now make 4,999,999 profit (minus fees).
Player A2 loses 5,000,000 inf.
Player A1 loses 250,000 inf (5% listing fee) because his item didn't sell.
All player C has to do is wait by an auction house and then look around for "Player A (quiting 24)". Then go in and look for an item being listed that is really worthless like a TO and list the same for 1 inf. -

hmm...
No real mention of new zones....

If the new zones are anything like laggy Grandville then they can keep their new zones. I will not miss them.
