Quote:Looking there, I guess I can see how the "hat" is really a hood/connected collar thing. But why not limit those pieces to only work with each other? Or add another category to the "tops" section: hood/shoulder connected variants (with a cooler name, duh)?
Or, make a new costume piece: the "hat" portion of the thing (looks like the red section in the quoted post) and add it as a standalone, apart from the chest. That'd be the best way to do things... -
Why pay for pack 2? Anything in a hypothetical CoT pack 2 should be added to the original CoT pack, at its original price, for anyone who purchases the pack - either after the new items are added, or getting them retroactively for purchasing it before.

Quote:So put it in the "Hats" category, and assign a single hair style to it. Problem solved. Most of (if not all) the hats in the "Hats" category don't allow for anything else on your head with them. So I'm not seeing an issue with the hat.I do find it a bit silly when some people begin arguing over the fact that the pointy hat wasn't in though. If you think about it, there is probably all sorts of clipping issues that could come of it. (various hair styles poking out from all over the place, certain character head shapes poking out and showing odd angles.. these are just some of the things I think of when I think about what Posi was saying.)

Quote:These are my thoughts exactly! Awesome sounds, not dull click sounds! It is a really odd change, in my opinion.
I don't necessarily care if they wanted to change it... But... to a weak sound like it is right now? That is really odd to me.
My wife has commented about it several times to me. It's just so... anti-climactic, uninspiring... dull.
NEXT... ffwip
If not the old sound... I feel like it should be something like returning to a fun, action, superhero show...
Thanks! -
Quote:This! If people don't like the way a costume item clips, they can A) Change their costume, B) Live with it, C) Find a cool way to make the clipping work. Let the players decide!Surely the whole it clips with 20% of stuff and looks bad, is a subjective view. I mean clipping together some of the current helmet options can make for some awesome looking helmets and costumes. Why not realse them and let the player base decide if they are ugly or not?
God I hope not. If they release any parts later, they had better be included in the first pack retroactively. -
I like it! I don't know how often people normally use taunt, but 10% does seem a little high to me. I dunno.

Quote:Oh my goodness this is annoying. I type stuff, it gets hidden, or not typed at all, I use the arrow keys, the cursor ends up who knows where or hidden...Nope. Still breaks when you try to backspace/edit/enter line breaks.
But yeah, the more space the better! Although I can't say I use battle cries enough for it to be super useful to me... -
Quote:Really? Even contacts that require badges? http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Unlockable_Contacts That would be awesome, but unlikely...for instance all contacts which once required an unlock requirement now no longer have that requirement and automatically added to your list

Quote:I can confirm that as not true, as I was able to name my soldier on Exalted "Arbiter Jones".I do believe that Arbiter is a reserved word now, so if you try to create a character with that name, it will fail.
As of a week or so ago, "Wolf Spider Hunstman" was not taken, which would be an interesting name. I named my widow "Three Eyed Widow", because I used the third eye costume piece. SUPER original, I know. -
Because the former "Enter ___" button is now just one of a series of "Next" buttons, the sound when you enter the game is just a regular ol' click. I much prefer the old "PYEOWWwww dududu"* sound.
*Or however you type it. -
Quote:They told us somewhere that Shivans take on the form of whatever they crash into. Then this would (IMO) be the place to tell us that, rather than barely hinting at it while following a PPD Detective around the tutorial.
As for the "old" lore, it still fits - the only issue is the 1950's date, which I think is a straight up mistake. The idea of a planet devouring menace hitting the Arcosians (or whoever it was) hundreds of years ago, then moving on, fits with what's going on now. Maybe the initial Shiva was just a scouting meteor. Maybe it was broken up, but only some of the pieces fell into Bloody, and the rest were delayed until now.
The biggest issue for me is how one agent in SERAPH could have made the entire Paragon astronomical community miss the meteors. Surely there would have been amateur skygazers, or other companies/organizations watching the skies? -
Ha! I especially like how he "kicks" open his trunk, and then Blue Steel has a cameo - in which he does absolutely nothing.
I would also like to see all these civilians trapped in buildings, and heroes flying around saving them, in the tutorial. Or maybe allow higher level heroes to go into another version of destroyed Galaxy City and do some sort of saving people type mission?
A good story all in all though. I hope one of the (non-player) heroes rescues him. -
The reason the poses don't work with stealth and other such powers is, I'm guessing, the fact they put you into "combat" - that's the only explanation I can think of, since you are also unable to use poses right after combat (well, you can use them, but when you leave combat mode or whatever you revert to the default fly and have to use the pose again).
-
Brilliant, and nice presentation. Way to go.
Also, there's a dev post saying Auras are not included... can't find it right now, but I'm 90% sure it actually existed.
Edit: are you going to keep the current sales up to date? Because that is impressive if so... -
Huh, my NCSoft account lists the trial(s) I opened as Free an playable, which is cool, but also lists an account I have a retail code applied to, and know for a fact I played a full month on, as Free, with 0 months paid time. Does the first month free with a retail code not count?

12 hours is a long time, but I'm sure there's a good reason for it.
Besides, it's during a work day, so go do work. Unless you don't work, in which case I'm sure there are other ways to remain occupied... -
I think the confusion may be the fact that you don't get a second "first" guess at the new reduced first guess entry fee. That's for completely new entrants only.
Other than that, you get as many entries at the new 15 mil buy in as you want. -
Did the old one really? I don't remember having to go through three loading bars.
-
With the NCSoft launcher, I now have to verify after every patch. It doesn't take too long, so it's not so bad, but it is pretty annoying to go through a download, then whatever the next step is, click "Play," and then be stuck with a third loading bar. Is there some reason for this?

Quote:So... your guess is no one will die, killed by the developers? But it's a comic book death. After this "infinite crisis", everything will be reset and all the changes made to the game's storyline since the game went online will be wiped out so they can start over again.
Or is that everyone dies, killed by the Coming Storm, but not really since they live again? -
Say, if we buy the unlock, do we still get asked to do the unlock missions?
-
Quote:I thought about that, but it seems to me that they wouldn't go to the trouble of putting them in the tutorial only to kill one later... and I think it would be kinda awkward to start a new character, go to the tutorial, and "oh hey, aren't you dead?" Sure you can say it's "earlier," but there's enough discussion about the "real" timeline that I'd bet the developers just decided to avoid the whole thing.Well, when you look at it from the point of view that higher levels means later in the timeline then they're still fair game being at the very beginning.
Unless it is BABs, and they want him in the tutorial for perpetuity, for sentimental value... I think I'd better get a new entry in... -
Re: teleporters... maybe it's a "wide beam" are teleporter? It just sucks everything in a certain area up, friend or foe. So "blocking" may be a poor choice of words, but Officer Daniels is just a cop, not a teleportation expert.
What was wrong with the old tutorial? Just curious. -
Hmm... given that Sister Psyche and BABs appear in the new tutorial, I'd say it's pretty unlikely it's one of them.
-
I'd have to say that overall I'm pretty pleased with the new tutorial. The lack of a right click "Info" option is certainly annoying - and it's not as if it's not there for a good reason: the action menu from the Target window has it. Some NPCs don't have it period, but any NPC that has it in the Target window menu should have it in the right click window.
I would definitely LOVE to have BABs and SP as the beginning type contacts. I do have to wonder about what the heck happened to the fight between Statesman and Recluse: in the comic, which takes place before the played part, they're actively fighting. In the Villain safezone, however, Recluse is strategizing with his minions about who gets to fight who(m?).
As for the store, you only get that option the first time you do the tutorial; it's a global badge. Every other new character does not even get the dialog to use the store. Also, as far as badges go, I seem to get at least one on every character. I'm not sure what it is, but the store badge isn't the only one to earn.
I'm unsure how I feel about the "extended" tutorial, but right now I'm okay with it. We'll see what happens when I play those missions heroside. Villain side they're fun so far, although the large amount of putting words in my character's mouth is kind of an issue.
I definitely disagree with removing all the old contacts. I thought they would pop up after you finished FBSA Guy's arc, but alas, that is apparently not the case. The fact that there was only 2 initial villain side contacts was a HUGE turn off from that side, and is a big part of the reasons I didn't play a villain seriously until three years after CoV came out.
Quote:The problem with that is the fact that some players might not have volume on for whatever reason, or just find the voice over hard to hear; I know I can barely hear it at my normal game levels. Everything the female says should be written somewhere, like Officer Daniels' dialog is.The new Tutorial also tells you (through the voice over) how to target enemies, and it shows you how to train to level 2.
You can do that now.
