    Yea, that's the one.

Then you could always go with old classics like The Legend of Hell House.
  2. Well if he opened up a ton of tabs then I can see a problem with lack of memory or if the pages are constantly refreshing then maybe CPU utilization. Also current versions of Chrome and Firefox do use hardware acceleration for displaying pages on top of Windows 7 using Aero for the windows manager, that could affect performance as well.
  3. Well he is VIP, not that it matters as the Suggestion Forum is open to all.

    Oh well, that eliminates Audition.

Well I don't think Ringu was bloody. Neither was the American version. Well maybe there were flashes but it's been a while since I've seen either version.

Then of course there's Paranormal Activity. Only seen the first movie and 95% of the scary bits are in night vision/black and white so if there was any blood, it wouldn't be red. Again, I don't remember much if any. It's not much shaky cam, most of the time it's footage from a tripod mounted camera.

Well that's like most of my SciFi collection.

However that said I would suggest the Thunder and Lightning series by John Varley. The first is Red Thunder, then Red Lightning and then Rolling Thunder. I think there's a fourth book coming. They are mostly light science fiction (Rolling Thunder starts to go heavy/hard/end of the world but since the characters we care about don't live on Earth anymore, it's not too depressing).

Another thing is some of the main characters of the 2nd and 3rd books are the sons and daughters of the main characters from the previous book.

No but I hated the fact that the movie missed the fundamental point about tying government service to voting.
  7. Yes, Rick saw it but nobody at the camp believed him.

It also bothers me that throughout this season Lori kept tweaking Shane and then Rick and then Shane, rinse/repeat as if she wanted one of them to resolve the situation on a permanent basis. Honestly don't regret the results.

  10. Still didn't answer the question about the helicopter or if the helicopter is intentionally herding zombies in a particular direction. Zombie hoards as a siege weapon? We'll pull them toward our enemies and let them deal with them?

At least it explained why there was a hundred head of zombies on the north 40.

    USB Port Problem

Hardware Secrets, HardOCP and Anandtech also has very good PSU reviews that usually state their actual manufacturers. That said, Jonny Guru is still my first stop when looking for a PSU review.

Tom's Hardware went as far as publishing this list of who actually made what PSU.
  12. It seemed that Lori got upset when Rick told her Carl was the one who put down Zombie-Shane, not the killing of Shane.

  14. I think you can find the video that goes with that quote on the 2nd page of the tumbler site, the White Lotus finds Korra clip.
  15. I was hoping for a Japanese dub of Fury. Helicarrier looks sweet.
  16. With an upgraded power supply, I don't see why not. I should point out that the Antec BP550 is 0.6" longer front to back than the PSU HP puts in there (which is standard size). Also not sure if there are any stops or latching mechanisms in the case that could prevent you from using a longer power supply than the standard sized ones.

The modular cabling of the BP550 should help keeping the cable mess down and the larger fan should improve airflow and internal temperatures considering all the side venting HP has in those cases.

When you get around to replacing the power supply I would suggest taking a lot of photos of how the miscellaneous cabling is connected to the motherboard in the off chance you accidentally dislodge any of them while working on it since HP's documentation isn't all that forthcoming about case to motherboard cabling. Depending if you are a novice at this, you may be able to puzzle out some of "this cable goes there" but nothing beats reference photos when you aren't sure.

  18. Of course the patch goes to Beta as I was posting. Well if all things check out then maybe next Tuesday, the 20th, it'll go live.
  19. The eVGA GTX 560 is 8.25 inches long at is two slots wide for the entire length. It's shorter than the motherboard (9.6") and looking at internal pictures of your system, the only problem that could exist would be if something tall is sticking up off the motherboard under the space the video card will occupy and I can't tell that from the photos.
  20. It's like any professional nitpicking how their profession/skills are shown on film.

And it doesn't surprise me that Brave gets it right. Pixar is notoriously known to spend money to send their creative people to really analyze their topic. Getting a few marksmen/women if front of a high speed camera as well as demonstrating the "wrong" way gives them the background to "get it right".
  21. Likely a side effect of preventing Free or Premium players from starting a Supergroup. Easier to block a contact outright than make only some interactions with that contact work depending on the player's VIP status.
  22. 95+% of patches come on Tuesday.

99.9% of the time the servers are offline on Thursday is simply due to weekly maintenance.

I don't even think a post Issue 22 patch has been pushed to test yet and if it's not there, it's not going to be pushed to live.
  23. Well if you conservatively estimate that the first season of the animated series had 400 minutes of actual story, skipping the opening, recap and credits, and stuffing that into roughly 95 minutes of actual movie you can see one of the problems, an extra 25 minutes of actual movie would have helped a lot.

The second problem was the earthbending shown was just too darn slow in the actual bending technique as well as the rocks moving. All three forms are structured to act like martial art fighting but striking with a particular element.

Also M. Night blew a lot of money on the Kyoshi Warriors story point, which would be important if a 2nd and 3rd movie was made, and it resulted in that footage being left on the cutting room floor and when the money ran out, they assembled a movie from what footage they had completed which made the film seem choppy. Then the studio decided to give it a 3D treatment so it then became dim if you saw it in 3D.

Lastly there is the whole racebending issue. I don't really mind as long as they are self consistent but the actors the had playing Katara and Sokka looked very out of place back in their village. It was like an ice version of The Blue Lagoon but the shipwrecked kids were found and adopted by a local village of natives.

Also they needed to play up Sokka's snarkiness and Aang's crush on Katara. The animated series always had a thread of humor running through it to counter the seriousness of the overall story, that was also sorely lacking in the movie.

Yes watch the original animated series, in order, it's really good.
  24. Maybe at low enough resolution at minimal UM settings but generally not, assuming you prefer greater than 30fps walking around in a zone.

Back when they first introduced UM, they suggested that the 512MB 8800GT/9800GT had the minimum graphics horsepower needed for minimum UM settings (but no info on resolution or what framerate they thought was acceptable). Using that as guide then you are looking at either the GTS 450 or GTX 550Ti as the two "current" low end nVidia cards that could support UM turned on.

Of course your millage may vary, everyone has different thresholds of what is an acceptable balance between framerate, resolution and "pretty". Some experimentation to find that balance with whatever you get is required.
  25. Well crashing the game using the AMD chip sounds like a driver problem. Sadly IIRC Sony customizes their graphics drivers so you can't simply grab and install one of the AMD drivers that we know that works well with the game, at least better.
