  1. Thought of another series I enjoyed. Sadly I "lent" it out years ago so I don't have it anymore, that's why I didn't think of it.

Alan Dean Foster's The Damned Trilogy. Interstellar war going on between two factions and a scout ship from one, looking for more allies, lands on Earth in the hear and now and discovers that mankind is really good at this war stuff. Maybe to good.

This and the rest of your posts in this thread are an example of you NOT HELPING. The OP has a problem with billing, something none of us players can help with other than directing them to either out of game or phone support.

Then you come in ranting about how non-subscribers are getting shafted by NCSoft and the thread derails into an argument between you and other players stating they've never had any of the problems you have seen with support. If anything your posts may be discouraging the OP from staying.

As for the credit card charge back = automatic account lock, well that's NCSoft and MMO industry standard practice since the vast, vast majority of charge backs are because of credit card fraud and not the account owner in dispute with the MMO company over a charge. Disputing the charge should be the last resort, going through support being the first and it's an informative warning to a new player.

I wonder what the GK110 product would have looked like...
Maybe I'll find out next month...
    ???

The 680 has triple the number of cores that's found in the 580 and four times the number of cores in the 560TI. There is a trade off however, the individual cores are now clocked at the same speed as the rest of the GPU instead of 2x as found in the 500 series.

Wait, I know what happened Hyper, you only saw at the diagram for an SMX module. Well there are four of those on the 680.
  5. Tegan had two things going for her and neither were her Australian accent.
  6. I heard rumors that the latest few novels in the Anita Blake series aren't as sexed up as the few that came before them. I loved the first 9 books (mostly), book 10 was getting a little too sexy for me and book 11 I didn't even finish. I wanted Anita Blake sword wielding Necromancer with her Vampire/Werewolf love triangle, not Anita Blake sexual party favor of every were<animal> in the tri-state area.
  7. Yes, many sites have their reviews today. It's power use is also surprisingly low for an nVidia ubercard. Now the question is how fast can nVidia fill all the price points with variants of this new architecture. Right now there is a huge gap between the GT 520 and the GTX 550Ti that's only filled by 400 series cards that are supposedly at their end of life, manufacturing wise. The one thing you can say that AMD does better than nVidia is having a video card at every $50 tick between $50 and $300.
  8. T, shut up. You are starting to wear on my nerves with your constant "I'm right, you all are wrong" post bursts on every subject claiming to know more than everyone else.

Knockdown has ALWAYS been a low magnitude knockback. Knockup has ALWAYS been knockup. Knockup NEVER becomes knockback. Knockup NEVER becomes knockdown. It's worked like that since I started playing six months or so after the game first came out and I haven't seen any change in effects that powers that do knockback/knockdown and knockup.

You've lost this battle. Go off and continue your rants against e-mail support or pet AI and get your butt handed to you in those threads as well. In the years I've roamed on these boards I've never ignored a poster but you are rapidly becoming a prime candidate with your belligerent insistence that you know more than anyone else, that you're right and EVERYONE else is wrong.

This is the board where people come to help others who have problems playing the game. Your posts are the equivalent to giving out bad information, intentionally or not, on the ingame help channel.

If you can't help another player fix their problem, or confirm that others are experiencing as well, stop muddying the waters with your incorrect theories and general paranoid rants about the developers. YOU ARE NOT HELPING.

Yes, I'm feeding the troll. Yes I expect he will lash back at this and other posts of mine. I'm am just fed up of seeing multiple posts in a row from T contradicting posts of players who have been helping out here as well as Player Questions who have proven themselves to be valuable sources of knowledge.

Hey T, why don't you go to a doctor's waiting room and start diagnosing the people waiting to be looked at and go up to those who have already seen the doctor and tell them that their doctor is wrong and those prescriptions he put them on are bad, because you read it on the internet.

    [/rant]
  9. Donna was a fresh change from the luv struck companions of Rose and Martha. She played it more like an annoying sister or work colleague than infatuated school girl.
  10. Ah, ever ice slicked a Paragon clockwork? Instead of knock-down you get a knock-back.

    Wtf?
You can't really appreciate it unless it's in motion (around 52 second mark and at 2:34). This was shot in 2004 after Issue 2 from the look of it. Original Hollows, super herding, fire imps r us, original Rikti Crash Zone, etc.
  12. The Three Stooges does The Blues Brothers.
  13. Well it is a lot less ice cubie than it was originally.
  14. Hope there will be a scene where he introduces her to his mother-in-law Amy.

However reading the story from The Guardian I guessing not.
  15. No, you are thinking of the GTS 250 which uses essentially the same GPU as the 9800GT, 9800GTX, 9800GTX+ and the 512MB 8800GT.

The GTS 450 uses a significantly cut down GPU from the GTX 460.

I can answer this, it's the 15 in 1 memory card reader that's found in all(?) HP tower models.

Staff Blast would feature the ability to attack your enemies with various elements such as:

    Fire
    Ice
    Electricity
    Psionic
    Darkness
    Light

These elements would be accessed much like Dual Pistols' alternate ammunition types with toggles. Only one element would be able to be accessed at a time and no attacks could be used until an element was selected. (All elements would have to be available at level 1 of course.) Also, the attacks' damage type would depend on which element is active.
    Is this Jim Butcher?
  18. The biggest problem I have with nVidia cards is the amount of power they draw compared to similar performing AMD cards. If AMD could keep their monthly drivers working consistently with this game, I would probably lean toward AMD.

The second biggest problem is the obvious price gap between the GT 520 ($55) and the GTX 550Ti ($140). AMD has several cards that fit nicely into that gap for the budget minded builder but with nVidia you have to rely on previous generation cards that are already EOL.

Well it's under English > For Fun! ALL ACCESS: Suggestions and Ideas (since lancing most suggestions and ideas has become something of a sport).

Oooo, the two Phibes films are great fun. They may be considered more campy than horror. Actually any UK horror film starring either Vincent Price, Peter Cushing or Christopher Lee (the more the merrier) could be considered enjoyable by the less squeamish.

Sorry, big fan of old Hammer films.
  21. And tonight's horror angle is ... raising the dead and possession. Also a slight church warrior angle as well as twisty turny rivers, all alike.

Problem with a show like this is once you know you are going to see "things" on the close circuit camera system, it becomes a drinking game.

I'm not surprised they didn't get a second season; there's nowhere else they could have gone without bloodshed, which in reality shows is generally frowned upon.
There was a 2nd season and there are rumors about a third in the works (maybe to capitalize on the ZA/TWD popularity).
  23. Well it started as a home made tool and then was bought by TrendMicro, guess it's back to masses again.
  24. I think that's the same system my parents have.

Did you download the NCSoft Launcher recently or are you trying an older one? Also the launcher does go through patches itself, a process that will launch a copy of itself as part of the patching process. I've seen firewall software get confuse and block the launcher since it's version number changes, sometimes several times during the patching process depending how many launcher patches you miss.

You could always grab a recent copy of the installer from either your account management page or from the main City of Heroes website.
  25. I'll toss my two cents in with those who think heading toward a major highway is a bad idea. You don't need much to permanently make a highway impassable. I'm actually surprised that the highway from Atlanta (seen in the 1st season) didn't use at least some of the inbound lanes as outbound lanes.

In a ZA you want to go somewhere that doesn't have a high population density. So stay out of the major cities and even the nearby suburbs. I would head to Texas myself, plenty of open land, plenty of guns. It has it's own power grid, sources of gasoline and plenty of red meat.
