No I enjoyed the characters. They are exactly the kind of mid 20 somethings who often portrayed on TV and in films that after only 3 years out of college they will be making mid six figure income and living in an enormous lofts in SOHO and own $1000 state of the art digital camcorder with 100:1 zoom.

I enjoyed watching them die, one by one, as their artificially constructed view of how the world revolves around them is torn down.

Well an 8800GTS 512MB is a underclocked GTS 250. Looking over at techPowerUp, their relative performance of a GTX 470 at 1920x1200 with AA/AF puts it about twice as fast as a GTS 250. And actually the 8800 GTS 512MB was the first card that used a fully enabled (all 128 SPs) G92 GPU which did have some improvements over the original G80.

As for the PSU, don't know, 650 watt BFG isn't a lot to go on. The only example I found of a 650 watt BFG power supply has two 20 amp, 12 volt rails which, lacking any additional information suggests a max of 480 watts at 12 volts.

nVidia officially lists 550 watts PSU as minimum and eVGA adds at least 38 amps at 12 volts to that spec. The GTX 470 uses an additional 70 watts of 12 volt power over your current card (145 Vs 215 watts).

My guess is it should work but you may want to consider upgrading to a more modern PSU. For instance the Corsair TX650 can deliver 52 amps at 12 volts or 624 of the rated 650 watts.

The three within 45 minutes where I live (it's a rather small town, I feel fortunate that we have a McDonald's and we wouldn't have that if it wasn't for the local racetrack and the traffic it generates on the weekend over the spring/summer). Anyways the three Gamestops I visited wouldn't even take a pre-order, "we don't carry PC games anymore". So I see this as the whole Wal-Mart Good Vs Evil exclusive all over again. Does anybody else thinks it's absurd that players trying to reach the "old" 70% recharge reduction of perma-hasten are willing to max their set enhancements and end up with about 250% recharge reduction?

Back then I could understand the desire for perma-hasten, more than two SOs worth of recharge in every power so you could skip recharge on powers and go four or five slots on damage. But now, with ED and all it seems, well insane to me to devote so much effort to get that extra 175% recharge simply to get 70% more.

To me it's like trying to relive the days you had a cool tree fort so you first go out and buy a house that has a really big tree so you have a place to rebuild it.

Well 600+MB is a whopper of a patch. If I start now on dial-up I don't think I'll have it when GR/I18 launches.

Times like this I wish for broadband in my area.
