  1. I'm currently at the ship, hoping to get in...
  2. Sounds good to me (Well, except for the part about the 'piece of crap' computer - hope it gets fixed soon).

    Edited for clarity
  3. Unfortunately, I was a little busy over the week, so I missed the send off for the 5/16 weekend MoSTF.

I'll show up for the 5/24 run. Don't know if you'll want a 2nd MA/SR scrapper on your team, but I'll be there on the ship in case. No biggie if I'm not picked, just hope everyone has fun.

In reality, I think it might be CoX's version of Mad Libs...

    Select a Villain Organization.
    Select a Map.
    Select Mission Type.
    Insert Primary Antagonist's Name Here.

As I said before, I think it will give players a chance to expand their creativity, but I think that's about it. I doubt you'll be able to select where mobs will be located at or where the important object will be placed. The Devs will put up safeguards to ensure there aren't ubermobs or unique and rare item drops.

^ That was exactly my thoughts when I read this:

Similar in concept to our character creator, it allows you, the players, to create missions and story arcs for your characters and others to participate in. You’ll be able to pick the map, villain group, and objectives, as well as write the dialog and any clues needed for the missions. When you are satisfied with it, you can upload it and have other players across all servers play it and rate it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The maps most likely are the ones already in the game with preloaded spawn points and specific layouts of rooms. No where does he say you will be able to customize your own spawn points, only that you pick your maps.

However, I am still enthused about this. Its very good news.
  5. WOW.

Absolutely amazing! Thank you very much for this, devs!

    I12: the QoL Saga!

It just keeps getting better and better!

    * Eight configurable new power trays let players customize their User Interface by placing them anywhere on the screen.

[/ QUOTE ]Thank you. This has been needed for a very long time.

    [ QUOTE ]
    * Contact display redesign: Contacts are now listed separately as Active and Inactive, and players can sort contacts by a range of criteria including Name, Zone, and Level Range.

[/ QUOTE ]Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! Needed for an even longer time!

    [ QUOTE ]
    * Inspiration Conversion: Right click an inspiration to convert three of that kind into any one inspiration of another kind.

[/ QUOTE ]Greatly appreciated! Thank you for this feature!

    [ QUOTE ]
    * Level Up Boost: Upon reaching enough XP to level up (at all levels), one of each type of large inspiration is immediately cast upon your character, and health and endurance bars are immediately filled.

[/ QUOTE ]I pretty much posted a similar reply in another thread, but anyways I have always found it odd that CoH did not have this feature (specifically, health and endurance bars immediately filled) when I know a few other games did. Thank you very much. The inspiration casting is a bonus! Thanks!

    [ QUOTE ]
    * Chat improvements: Right click on character names in chat window to ignore, add to friends list, invite to team, etc. Drag any item (enhancement, inspiration, salvage, etc.) into the chat window so that you and others can click a hotlink to view the complete info box.

[/ QUOTE ]Nice feature. Again, thanks!

    [ QUOTE ]
    * More Real Numbers: Players can now display stats on powers before they choose them enabling more informed power selection and new temporary powers allow players to display enemy stats.

[/ QUOTE ]Yay to More Real Numbers!

    Overall, excellent! Thank you devs!

    Really long hair

    [ QUOTE ]
    Boooooooooooooooooooo!

If another superhero game comes out with loincloths and long hair...I'm there.

I have a defender that needs a cape AND a loincloth.

    I want FACIALLY ANIMATED EMOTES.

I have a controller that has hair down to her ankles.

What good is 2 SLI video cards, 4 gigs of ram, a 30" monitor, multi-core processors, a scsi card and 15000 rpm drives good for if NOT to make hair, capes, loincloths, and multiple auras look fabulous.

I invest a lot of time playing COH, leveling my toons, putting up with bad teams, tankers and scrappers without taunt, prima donna controllers, defenders who skip clear mind/fort/rez/adrenaline boost, putting up with 'mapserver disconnected', lag, just to get to the teams with rocking tankers and deadly scrappers, controllers that know what they are doing - all so I can be told no? I can't have long hair? I can't have a loin cloth?

    Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I've always been supportive up to this point, but on this point my patience is not going to apply.

If I make a female I want her to look awesome, stunning, and unique.

I'm not going to wait 3 more years for shapeshift and stretching and swinging and duplication.

I'm not going to wait 5 more years for a motorcycle, or a horse, or a dragon to ride.

I'm not going to wait 10 more years to be able to have my rad defender's powers look RED instead of GREEN.

I want long hair, I want it to flow realisitically, and I'm willing to wait...if they say they will come out with it someday.

But tell me never, well, that means I have about 1-2 more years tops and I'll retire from COH.

I'm really starting to find that the 'old' pre-COV players are really hard to find...and that the new post-COV players, have a large number of jerks.

Pre-COV players never named their toons 'I am teh PWNZ' or 'Blaster L337'.

I put up with standing outside a mish for 10 minutes...doing nothing, because half the team has to sell, killing my xp rate, because I've always believed the devs are going to build 'the rest of the game'...you know the part where we can actually KNOCK THE ENEMY THROUGH A WALL, and it HURTS.

I put up with bad PuGs because every great PuG is worth its weight in gold. It's beautiful. There is always that time in the game that makes me say "Man...that alone was WORTH my monthly subscription".

I put up with the crappy tech-support, and that abysmal NCSoft website, because, really, there is no other PC-base MMO comic book game. I will not use an X-box 360 if you PAID ME to take one.

I put up with the fact I like to pvp with defenders, and get killed all the time. I put up with the fact that really, villains 1v1 are more powerful than heroes, because on a full team, heroes can beat large numbers of villain teams.

I put up with the stupid AI of the PvE cardboard dummies...I realize this part of the game is the most difficult of all to code...because it doesn't really matter...what matters is playing my toon, that I've spent hours creating and growing in a synergistic setting with other players who have done the same, and that no AI will ever be able to come close to that in any game.

So, in response, I don't care if they say it can't be done: I say, NCSoft has bought the CO* franchise, owns it, and is now increasing the staff for development, they need to do this piece too.

If they are making that great new studio, then they need to come out with 5 new powersets for each AT a YEAR.

They need to make the environment 100% physics based and breakable.

They need to do the long flowing hair.

    They better do the loincloth.

Can I have your stuff? No, seriously, can I have your stuff?

It seems like they must teach in game design university courses to always release game versions at the 80% ready point (or whenever marketing drone Ouija board results are favorable), and to let the customer base shake out the rest of the bugs live on their nickel.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's fine by me. Maybe I'll finally get Bug Hunter!
  9. Thank you devs for a wonderful 3 years!

An MMO based on superheroes not in an already established franchise? I'm so there!

Keep those creative juices flowing! If need be, I'll stop by with an Adrenaline Boost!

Thank you very much! You guys & girls are great! Thanks for all the hard work on your writing, coding, artwork, etc.!!!!
  10. [ QUOTE ]
BEAUTIFUL page!! Thank you Telepath Been looking for an updated emote page of that quality for some time now!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're welcome, Redeemer733. (sorry for the delay in the reply, but had to get to bed and then to work).

Anyways, it is a highly-valued piece of work. Which is why I suggested it.

And thank you Mantid for making it!

  11. I remember...

...when it was June '04 and I decided to make a MA/SR scrapper, based off of a RPG character I had made a decade before. Even at 50, she's still my number one character, and I often bring her out of 'retirement'.

...when my first social interaction was when I heard the term 'No KSing', while attempting to apprehend a Skull in KR after a defender initiated the combat. He 'bubbled' it and I no longer could do anything to it! I thought it had meant 'No kissing' or some variation. After remembering hearing a broadcast conversation on 'kill-stealing', I figured out what it meant and promptly left. What a n00b I was!

...back before Suppression , when I could pinball myself off of one baddie to the next baddie to the next baddie and so on, keeping them out of melee range of my blaster SG friends, by using the knockback in Crane Kick (because we had no control via controllers/tankers- and don't ask me why... )

...getting Elude for the first time, and Superspeeding from the Talos tram, past the magic store and natural store, turning left into the grassy area, over the rock and fence and into the parking lot on the cliff overlooking the ferry area, jumping out over the cliffside, clicking Elude and getting ecstatic at seeing the backflip animation complete a few seconds before landing, and then continuing on towards the ferry! Complete utter joy!

...reading about the tanker nerfs coming with I5 as it hit test, and maddingly trying to get my tanker to 50 before they hit live. 2 weeks to spare!

...when the mini-manual came with the game and it could fit snugly into my pants pockets! Sneaked many a peek at it during work hours, even though it was outdated the moment I bought the game. LOL

...remembered when I thought Fold Space would be a cool power to get whenever my controller would get to that level. A Sing is much better, looking back!

...when kiosks didn't do anything, and I kept asking people what they were for...

...how ecstatic I was getting my scrapper to 50 just before XMas '04. What a wonderful present to myself!

Can you rez them right after you use them for Vengeance or do you have to wait untils its effects are over before you can rez them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, you can rez them right after casting Vengeance on them. I've done it myself as a Rad def.
