I've only been back for a day, but I was very surprised to find that the box where you edit your character's description is still buggy--if you try to backspace a newline, it simply won't let you.
I can't remember which issue they broke this in, but I thought they eventually fixed it...and now it's broken again (but with new symptoms)?
I realize this probably doesn't rank among the *biggest* problems with the game today, but it definitely makes me wonder what the codebase for the game looks like and why something like the description box would get broken constantly... -
Found this article while stumbling - thought it was pretty relevant to COH and worth sharing.

tl;dr version of the article: current mmo's rely too heavily on the 'holy trinity' (tanks-healer-damage) -

Now we need a much brighter cursor.. I can't tell where I'm typing in my ID window..
[/ QUOTE ]
Make sure that you call it a caret, not a cursor, in a feature request so you can speak right in dev jargon and get priority seating for speaking the secret language.
A cursor is your mouse pointer and the caret is the vertical flashy bar in a text field.

I like Riales and Elciares...but I think I just like weird names. ><;

I just use the console command. I don't need some other hero telling me how to use my powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ooh...I like this sentiment. What's the console command? -

I'm one of the few the actually prefers playing redside, and it's true that the early levels are awful.
CoH at least has more options, depending on origin, or if you're tired of that, you can do some sewer runs.
Snakes and Infected? Bleh.
[/ QUOTE ]
No kidding. Especially snakes. Wayy too many snakes. -
No need for an apology--just pointing it out to help you out.

Blue Steel has no Secondary powers. All his powers are Primary.

This one is hilarious.
Also...*frowns at the ones that are blatantly just "Blue Steel" subbed for "Chuck Norris"* -
Just popping in to point out a typo -

Yes, it's the "avoid playing the game as much as possible" paradigm.
I can do that anywhere at anytime. I generally log into the game to, well, actually play it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not fair. I'm still playing the game--just not in the same way you are.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean just not as much as I am.
Gameplay consists of fighting things. If you avoid fighting things, you're avoiding gameplay. Q.E.D.
[/ QUOTE ]
Emphasis mine.
<pause for LOL>
Seriously? What about role-playing? Playing the markets? Base-building? Badge-hunting? These are just a few examples of gameplay that doesn't involve "fighting things".
I'm not saying I don't steamroll...just not ALL THE TIME. It is not the only way I know how to play the game. -

a competent stealth team will always be faster than a competent steamroller team.
[/ QUOTE ]
So I have heard, but I've never seen that actually manifest.
I simply no longer believe stealthing to be a good tactic for any TF or SF and won't participate in it any more. I have yet to see any instance where stealthing actually saved more time than it ultimately cost. The best stealth team I've seen has finished a TF exactly five minutes LATER than a similar steamroll team.
I just simply don't believe it any more.
And besides all of that, I find stealthing immensely BORING to boot.
So, no significant time savings, less XP from fewer kills, and boredom.
No more stealthing for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Conversely, I find stealthing more fun than just steamrolling because it's something besides the "run around and beat everything that moves till it stops" paradigm of playing. -

[/ QUOTE ]
That being said, the bar for competence on a stealth team is so much higher than the bar for a steamroller team.
I would think that if you're not too experienced, steamrolling will be faster for you. -

1. it should definitely cost inf to send mail... not a crazy amount, but enough where if slows down spammers
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, I can get behind this.
[ QUOTE ]
2. why not send a horse via mail... hello package delivery, not everything is a letter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't this e-mail? Are you gonna send it as an attachment?
[ QUOTE ]
3. the mail icon should only be red when there is new mail... after you read it is should go back to reg color
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, PLEASE!

4. spam... there should be 2 spam filters one server side, which stops all the spam from come to my website and buy inf (which is unlimited in size and would be easy to do as once the account is perma banned for spamming it would be dropped from the list anway) and the 2nd which is a personal spam list so if you get into a fight with your ingame girlfriend you can stop incoming mail.
[/ QUOTE ]
This one too...in fact, taking it a step further...how about some sort of global spam list, so we don't need to individually figure out who the spammers are? -
^^^ Ahh, I see what you're getting at. Yea, I think you're right.

I hardly notice mission maps, except for the ones I hate (oranbega, layer cake cave room).

The fact that you hardly notice the maps is a symptom of the problem, not a reason to ignore it, I think. -

Because it takes courage to follow the rules when people are by nature selfish. It takes no courage to make your own and live a selfish life.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is silly.
Who do you think makes the rules? A select cadre of unselfish people? -
*sigh*
Guess I'll play...but only in the interest of making a mildly derogatory suggestion, mind you.
