extermus dont always believe everything u read if u do then u are indeed foolish (if i believe everything on these boards, then id beleive that these forums are in constant state of war between the realist and idealist (oh wait they are /em sracthes head))

Oh I don't. It's a well known fact that the subscriber numbers aren't stellar (even stateside) and that no server goes in to max capacity, not even Freedom.

From what you're spewing forth someone'd think that the PvP changes and the way they were handled were as bad as the ED/GDN situation.

    News flash: Not even close.

Even if there's a significant subscriber drop I'd put a lot more money on it being because of a lack of any serious content in I13 than the PvP overhaul. But hey, y'know, that's just my brain using common sense.

the truth of the matter is u wont see the full nature of i13's demise until the q1 fy 2009 is realease as i13 was only realeased on the 2nd of dec

    [/ QUOTE ]
I didn't realise PvP'ers made up that substantial portion of the playerbase?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably not but but if you lose a portion of players who lets face it ran most of the farms so they could get there latest pvp toon up. Plus the majority of pvp players had more than 1 account (1 I know had 5). So you may hanve a limited number of players leave but you could say between 2 times or 3 times that number of accounts. So if you say PvPers them selves are only 5% of the population, but infact could hold 10% of the accounts (just an example as no real way of knowing the exact number), But this is realy just the tip of the iceberg as PvPer's have friends who don't class them selves as PvPer's but team with members of that community. Who see friends leave then decide it's time to go and so on. If a clearly dedicated bunch as the PvPer's were decide to leave then the knock on effect isn't just felt with in that groupe.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would still be incredibly surprised if those that did unsubscribe totalled any significant numbers.

The fact that they implemented such sweeping changes to get more people to PvP tells us just how relatively small the dedicated PvP population is/was.

    Now What?

It'll be the same reason that WAR, WoW etc... all have seperate server lists and community/customer support.
  5. Extremus

    Now What?

Yeah, that's just it. It's not about players on servers - it's about active subscriptions.

There will be quite a lot more people subscribing than actualy log in/play on a regular basis I imagine.
  6. Extremus

    Now What?

I very much doubt even the EU population is at a paltry few hundred subscribers.

    Now What?

    [ QUOTE ]
In the EU it will yeah, but then we don't matter to the American'ts.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes I'm sure they have absolutely no care about our X Thousand subscribers.

    Oh wait - income.

This whole mess is a joke plain and simple. NCSoft have just killed any future they had in the superhero genre with this action. Roll on CO and DCUO!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Making somewhat non-essential (when it comes to the day to day running of the servers) personnel in a regional department redundant will kill the global franchise/IP? Okay then!

(Not that it doesn't suck for those losing jobs, especially those that I have met. I'm just making a point).

    Edit: Moths.

    Elitism

Nothing like a thread about community elitism to bring out the WoW hate brigade.

Hey guys, newsflash - forums aren't indicative of the gaming populace. If you've had serious, consistent issues on WoW ingame then you're either one the unluckiest people or you're being a total jerk yourself.

I'm elitist. I'm horribly elitist. I don't have a problem with new players not knowing how things work or how to play x to it's best potential - I just don't enjoy playing with them that much. Their style/speed of play simply doesn't match mine, I have friends that don't match. It's not a huge deal.

Elitism is fine and dandy, being a dick isn't and while similar, they're different things.

Sure, I'll probably be there. Just, no more TF stuff please? Playing waitress to Extremus, Xanthus, Empath and Blast Burn wasn't the most fun I've ever had.

  15. Yes because paedophilia is curable. I mean, it's a sexual deviance after all.

ELECTROSHOCK FOR ALL, ESPECIALLY THE HOMOSEXUALS. AMIRITE?

It's not a disease, there is no excuse to hide behind. There is no "I can't help it, it's not my fault".

    Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

    Wait... wait. No, still more.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHA.

Inspiration's bring balance where there would otherwise be little to none - though this is less true Post-I13 than it was Pre-I13 in my opinion.
  17. Also, more importantly, the game doesn't have a BBFC certification. There's no legal binding when it comes to what ages can or cannot play/post on the forums.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
CoX shouldn't be affected by this, but I -can- see this being an end to official game forums in the future...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Jesus Christ, yes, because a CRB check is so freaking horrific.

The vast majority of companies check employees anyway, I fail to see how this is a death knell for online game forums.

    Big Boots

    [ QUOTE ]
Words cannot describe how much I hate the Enforcer boots.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    This.

They don't even really match the rest of the Enforcer set. I wanted some bad [censored] (reasonably) chunky armored boots, not something that looks like ED-209 should be wearing them.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
the point is to make it a good challenge for a bad mix instead of bearing on impossible. And yet still make it challenging for all who play it. That is possible, y'know.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    It really isn't.

Encounters will pretty much always be tuned to the majority of the playerbase, this makes the most sense on so many levels. The ITF is fine, it is not fundamentally broken because you say so because you had some bad luck while running it.

If you are unable to do the ITF there are a number of other TF/Trial options suited to your, shall we say, specific playing style.

I'd wager a large amount of players deem the ITF too easy and would like something requiring more tactical effort. Should we make the TF harder if they voiced their opinions in the same way you think it should be altered because you've voiced yours?
  21. Yes because it's so easy to market a game this old with such a haphazard/dated graphical look.

Not to mention that the GvE disc has, by now, a rather old client.

Now if they drop a graphics update (even if it's just bringing textures up to scratch of the new stuff it'll be pretty massive) in, say, Issue 15 and drop a new boxed copy... Much easier to market.

It'll look much more appealing and have the MA system as a hook.
  22. Villains are lacking a 40-45 TF, that's really it. Quality>Quantity.
  23. Is Heroic really that hard for some people?

    Honest question.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
This game doesn't need anymore dumbing down.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    No exactly.

    Well, apart from maybe Cryorounds.
