i took elements around 30 as i wanted unstoppable, hurl and footstomp at 32, 35 and 38, if you skip hurl then put it there, defo want it by mid 30s as thats when you start really running into the cot demons and i found they ripped my inv/ss health apart fairly fast until i got elements and slotted it.
going for energies at 41 in time for the av's and other higher level mobs that dish that type out. may skip though. -
tp foe may be able to be used in combat due to your defence being so good, certainly if you can use medicine (and seen it done enough) then tp foe may be quite good for pulling in mobs to biff.

or have no intention of ever base raiding and just like to see what other people have done to glean inspiration to do something.
personally if i was going to take our base up to raid status the entire layout would change anyway to fit the raid requirements. -
yes, that just reminded me i thought it was really odd that the base editing was done in realtime with the player as the pointer.

minmaxing as in, making the most from your plot and the required steps to make that maxed plot work.
i'm curious to think how moving rooms could be done better, with wall or any decorations theres not much of a better way of doing it, unless you're looking at forced item overwrite so it doesnt matter what you have on that wall thats now a door, it just gets deleted.
maybe a way would be to have a room bin that all room items are dumped into when you move the room around so that you can at least tell what the room contained when it overwrites the decor with a doorway.
things i'd like to see are: actual doors and the ability to add things to the room doorway squares so that differences of floor hieght are not always having to contained in the room.
when you apply style changes to the base, if you have items on the floor it doesnt alter the floor/ceilings to teh style you picked.
A conflict resolve list, thats easy to see whats going on, rather than just refusing to do the action, it'd do the action and show you what you just broke and prompt to resolve it.
one thing i did recently with our base (which is on the basic plot) is change the two teleporter rooms into one big teleporter room holding all four pads and all the beacons, this made the base structure work a lot better than before.
we dont do raids or owt though so our priorities are telepads>Hospital>looknice>workshop -
heh i enjoy that minmaxing the plot type stuff, ah the heady days of doom2 editing
-
if that is the case how is it my dm regen scrapper has the start of the first badge? hasnt got the badge but certainly has the start of it, i'll have to check my tank too see if they have it
-
staying ranged with fire as a secondary isnt really an option unless you pick it just for the few that have already been mentioned - buildup, consume and maybe fsc for a finishing move (coz of the 2 second delay), i'd recommend either a rewrite to a less melee dominant secondary (or one that gives more support to your primary like energy or electric) or change styles - push the holds and immobilise side to the max, then use the fire aoes.
i've got an ice/fire and its very effective at this, even with just a couple of slots in the secondaries, but shes really in the thick of it in melee at all times. -
on my kin / dark i skipped:
all travel power pools (bar tp friend) and fitness
reason being:
siphon speed stacks plus a slow in gives you a further run speed boost, 2 of these and you're basically running at superspeeds
IR is a superjump
Transference and siphon speed help with all recharge.
Pools i took were:
medicine, teleport (for tpfriend only) and then the epic psy mastery.
fitness was just not needed, even at the early levels
travel powers just were not needed once i had siphon speed stacking
teleport friend and medicine were for the rez recovery and downtime healing.
dark side:
gloom, tents and nightfall were the cornerstone attacks till epics, dark blast was ignored.
torrent was very very useful as a powerpush knockback when it was needed to save squishies - its much underated, one thing that was very very useful to do was, tent a group then torrent them, they go flying and they are still immobilised when they get up.
once you get blackstar your standard attack on a big group will be:
run in, fulcrum, siphon power then blackstar, pop a blue, transference off the boss and tehn pull out to tent any chasers, nightfall teh rest while slapping gloom on the boss.
once you get epics things change a lot, but the above is the basica attack cycle i had, before blackstar you're more lining the attacks up for tents and nightfall to hit as much of the group as possible with a gloom and sihon speed on the boss.
edit: i tell a lie, i took hover and air super too -
I have handclap slotted thus:
1 acc
1 recharge
1 taunt
handclaps is great for:
opening move on a big group: immediate quick taunt on the group, scattering minions which are disoriented and taunted on you, easy for team to kill off quick.
it also thins out the crowd so that anything that it misses or resists it (bosses) are left standing and its easy to next target and then start punchvoking the boss
Great for doorways and corridors where the mobs block the escape or route to help squishies
great for quickly dispensing with a lot of aggro and giving you a bit of breathing space.
not so hot for:
higher level mobs
scattering a mob before any aoes from the rest of the team - need to time it well with fulcrum and other stuff like that
needs a bit of slotting to really make it worth while.
it is one of the most fun powers to use and its so addictive -

If you can spare the slots why not? More endurance is never a bad thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree more endurance is never a bad thing, slotting Speed Boost for Run speed would be a bad thing.

boo, slotting for run speed is funnynot many players seem to be able to handle fighting at perpetual superspeed though, bah.

2 end redux in FA should cover you ok, and then you dont need any accuracies in your attacks, this allows you to slot additional recharges in your attacks for the fastest flowing damage output you can get.
comments on confront, when going thru the pvp tourney last year i took taunt and found it really useful, i just didnt have room for it in my final i6 build (unfortunately).
health: personally i'd swap that for swift -
another hospital question...
is the sg healing badge still bugged? its been stuck at 50% for ever. -
unfortunately since ed nerfed hover as a useful battle mobility power its nto really much of an option (unless you know you're gonna team with kinetics).
air super, its the best power in the game -
powerpush and all knock back is good, as long as its within team, if the teams chaos and destroy everything-wade thru them, great, then its cool, if its controlled were under the hammer we need to focus to even have a vague hope of survival the chaos doesnt work.
however power push is one of the best powers on the planet, its almost as good as air super, but not quite, after all nowts that good other than the godlike itself -
Rock On Tommy!
the original orange and still the best -
yep thats one way to deal with it, the other way is just to go with the knockback flow, let chaos reign and run with it, its much more fun than standing back and yawning waiting for the tank to 'herd'.
-
run thru the first mob group so you are at the back of the group, using the taunt aura this will pull this first group onto you.
taunt 2nd more distant group
the running to the far side of the group turns all the mobs round so any aoe or cone attacks coming out the mobs will be in your direction only, thus the rest of the party dont get all that hard to avoid damage.
I so rarely see any tank do this. -
Many Grats to AngelStar for hitting 50 in a most Heavenly fashion

Torrent from dark:
very big knockback and seems to have a wide cone, doesnt do much damage though, has a long range.
useful for scattering the mobs and giving you a bit of breathing space, good for protecting anyone thats in trouble throw torrent at them and the mobs literally go flying. however not really a good opener due to the mag of the knockback (although, its very good at sweeping away the minions so that you can take down the one boss who resists the knockback).
Torrent from Energy:
High chance of knockdown, knocks back on weaker foes, has higher damage than Dark Torrent but a shorter and more narrow cone.
very useful as an opening move to deck all the group in place so you cna get in the thick of it for your pbaoe attacks, you can normally get that attack done while the mobs are getting up, so its like a couple of freeby hits.
Wepaonon mastery, i've never used as i heard it was too pants.
Dark Mastery i found myself slipping more into control and suppression rather than out and out killing, plus all the extra toys just confused me(although it was good fun)
Body mastery this is what i stuck with because of energy torrent and focused accuracy, with FA 3 slotted for tohits you dont need accuracy in your attacks, allowing you to slot for recharge or secondaries. -
[ QUOTE ]
What about Power Mastery? It provides Power Build Up which will boost your acc and damage and also Total Focus which does huge damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
long animation time single target hit compared to thunderstrikes same animation but multiple hitter and knock back.
plus i'd say being able to refill endurance would be more useful than higher damage as your damage is never gonna be that monster regardless what you do (even FS'd). -
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't recommend Kin for an offender. Whilst it has powers to help boost your damage and does have single target debuff powers it isn't self sufficient enough IMO to make a good offender. It doesn't provide protection from enemies just a really strong heal ( the best AOE heal in the game IMO ).
Also I found that Kin does not give you much opportunity for attacking due to lots of click powers ( heals, siphons etc ), I would suggest a less busy primary such as Rad or Dark. Rad certainly provides great potential for an offender.
[/ QUOTE ]
wow. kinetics is a monster, theres very few other builds that can nova and be at max endurance within 2 seconds of the nova, that alone makes kinetics an increadible offender.
protection in: FS debuffs 1 target, Transference removes another mob from the fight, use the blasts to debuff/knockback/immob the rest, rinse repeat. once you hit epic and put a hold in you can lock a whole mob down fairly swiftly.
