I agree here. I do not think that feature was advertised enough with GR. So many folks are clueless about even the base where you cash in the merits.
  2. Thanks for the update. I just hope the changes are enough.
  3. Seriously though until you run Ninja/Poison to lvl 50, no one can say that masterminds dont need buffing, hell you could run Ninja anything and it would be close to the same results. Ninjas need an overhaul badly. The other pet combinations are in much better shape. Its just that ever since they screwed pets with the recharge nerf they have not been right since on damage. Ninjas got the impact the worst in all of this because the AI is different now. To make matters worse the level scaling means while they are standing their deciding if they are even going to attack they get 1 shotted before then.

My proposed fix for ninjas is this, make the summon and buff power for ninjas cost the least out of all the masterminds and make it recharge like 5 seconds. Then the mastermind could be like how it is in the ninja movies where there is like an endless supply of ninjas that the hero has to take down before getting to the big boss. At that point I wont give a crap about them getting 1 shotted if the powers hardly cost end and have faster recharge.

Yeah lets dont buff masterminds because their pets cant be killed by mobs with no attacks.

The most obvious problem is that pets are fighting enemies 5lv above then!! Only little lv+1 isn't helping at all. I know they are two new Lv+1 but is a immense pain it because to get it, b/c MM aren't getting the rare reward pool from the trial!! More work for MM.

Is already hard to be able to use my powers without running out of end or dying. BG is almost useless now b/c every enemies have AoE. Most of the time my toggles drops while Re-summon pets and upgrading, is becoming a pain.

They should buff MM by eliminating the lv difference of pets and make all the same lv of the MM. Also, they should add a oneshot kill on pets, Make it so that pets always keep 1 HP if they have full hp and get hit by the lv+5 target.

MM can't play without his pets and this new contend is by far a lot harder that normal PvE. Pets are already weak and the new incarnate doesn't cut it for pets, with +1 or +3 on then they will still get one shot in every mob.

    For real Buff MM!
I wouldnt say buff MM but buff just the ninja set and maybe zombies. All the other sets are overpowered for teaming. None of them have to deal with pets with paper thin defense that get slammed before they even get to melee to do their damage. All the other sets have more range to some degree that does good damage or they have resistance thats worth a damn.
  6. For the mission Meet once more with James Noble it will not let me progress past the npc dialog. Its like there is something else thats supposed to happen but I see no other choices. What gives here? I even put in a ticket for this.
  7. The fear doesnt end, it just they get to attack 1 for every time they get damaged or something like that. Its more like 1 attack every few seconds. Also keep in mind the power works on minions only. That in itself is reason to not even bother with it. Honestly I just wish they would finally realistically address the end costs of this powerset. I have tried multiple builds and the set just isnt fun to play for me. Its like playing like you have to have an asthma inhaler with you at all times. Not fun at all. Maybe with a tier 4 incarnate it might be a little more bearable but I doubt it.
  8. I dont particularly care for it eventhough it fits the concept for one of my doms perfectly. The damage is too low for the end costs. It just plays clunky to me almost like electric once they butchered the damage that set had. The good powers at the end definately are not worth waiting for. What Iwould love to see is to make that ice toggle the set gets give the -damage that blasters and tanks get. I would say it would be fair compensation for the lower damage.

Particularly, we understand the curiosity surrounding the way in which the Incarnate Trial Reward Tables are awarded. While we’re not going to give away the keys to the castle, here’s a few points we wanted to share with you:
    • As Second Measure previously said, the system rewards participation.
    • The Trials are a group effort, so working together to complete the objectives of the event will provide a more rewarding experience for all members of the league.
    • While there is an element of randomness, the system is not completely random.
    • Don’t forget that higher tier rewards can be broken down into lower tier components.
    • We are actively monitoring the reward system to ensure it continues to reward players for their participation as fairly and equitably as possible.
    • When a part of our community shows concern, such as Masterminds have, we will investigate the rewards and make tweaks as needed. In fact, you can expect to see some changes from the first round of metrics and feedback in an upcoming patch.
That’s all I have for today everyone. Thank you for your patience as we process all of your feedback and commentary. Good luck and happy hunting!

    Chris “Baryonyx” Behrens
The reward part is truely borked and it does not reward all ATs and powersets fairly, its almost as bad as using time to completion to award reward merits. Masterminds have been screwed over by this, and it screws over the league leaders who have to take time out to give instructions to the rest of the league. You guys need to reward this system to be fair to all or just scrap it.

The math says the new system is no longer like the old game. I can get shards doing anything - even sewer runs with a bunch of level ones. To make a Baf or Lambda a gate would be fine - we run it and it unlocks just like the Ouro Alpha missions.

I did not have to farm that contact mission however beating Trapdoor 30 times to get my alpha. I could run a WST, any Tf and any content even street sweeping and get shards. Now we twist the game into a narrow path and say - this is what we say is now fun.

What needs to happen is either shards or threads goes away. I don't care which, it is stupid to have mixed currency. Then make it a gate to run the Trials and get the shiney unlocked. Once you do that let you run anything you like - yes even Fire Farm xxxxxxx for your enjoyment.

Want to add another chance to get a Hami O for winning a trial? Great idea - but limiting gameplay in this manner is NOT good for the long term health of the game.
I have to agree here. They should have held this off until they had like 8 or so different trials to do that way we dont get burnt out so fast. Personally though I am getting ticked off about the random rewards of all of this. It should have never been implimented in the first place. We have gone down that road once before and it did not end well and the devs just ended up putting resources towards reward merits and A-merits. The you can save all your empryean merits for that purple salvage you need 30 trials is alot of time, especially since you only get 2 a day.
  11. are the +1's stackable? Like say I had like 9 of them and I am already +1 can I haz lvl 60 incarnate? Are they useable outside of the trials?
  12. I just want to add my 2 inf to the discussion. I did baf 3 times. One attempt I put everything I had into doing as much aoe damage as possible on my scrapper. I got a rare, second attempt I wasnt able to do much aoe due to dieing alot because our tanks sucked at the time. I got uncommon on that run. 3rd run we had better tanks and controllers so I was able to get alot of damage in. I got a rare this run. So now I have all the new stuff to tier 3 and a tier 4 only on the alpha. It looks as if I am gonna have to get like retardedly lucky to get this done.

I don't have quantitative evidence of this yet, but I hope to soon one way or the other. I can say that I've seen some highly suggestive evidence.

    1. People who d/c for extended periods of time during trials seem to more likely claim to get a common reward.

    2. My blaster, in 20 completed trials, got only one common table. If the system was weighted towards common actually being more common than uncommon, this would be an *incredibly* astronomical run of good or bad luck, depending on your point of view.

    3. Every short trial I've run has netted me a rare or very rare so far.

I'm going to look more deeply at my logs to see if I can find stronger evidence than that, either tonight or tomorrow.
Thats good enough for me. If you say it then its true. I am kind of surprised the devs went this route though. I know in newly released recent MMO they had similar a problem where people were getting huge contribution during raids for just spamming powers, some of which did not do anything to effect mobs, so the devs went back and revamped the system but they in turn made it too hard to get the good rewards before you out level that area. This makes me wonder what the alternative in CoH would have been if they had not implimented such a borked system for these Trials.
  15. So the damage alpha wll buff the judgement? I thought it was locked to not be effected by damage and tohit. Otherwise kinetics would just make this insane as would aim and build up.

You have a new player who never did a Trial as the league leader who has no clue how to move players around. Does not know how to use the new UI. So you have players cursing at the guy as he tries to figure it out. Even when I say I'm explaining it to the person, players are just going nuts. I've had players say I would kick that guy in the face. You guys all F'ing suck and should die.. It's like over the top insane.

Basically these Trials have done nothing but foster much more hate against other players. One BAF Trial we had one tank having a slight issue and as usual once the team wipes pretty much everything goes out of control. But it got so crazy during the last part one person cursed out the Tank, again way over the top and of course the tank split.

I even jumped on a team I though the guy knew what he was doing and he was picking certain players.. Had 3 teams and even that fell apart. He never did the Trial before. He was just winging it..

On top I don't know I sort of feel like a hamster on a wheel. Pretty much about 90% of the teams are through the auto pick up method. So your doing the mission even though you know you can't complete it for drops.

I think these missions are nice, but bad concept. Your just running to get the new powers so you can solo other content much faster or better.

Its 2 missions with 10 new widgets. They really don't explain how to use them or where to go to read up on it. Am I doing a bad idea by down converting some of those astral thingy ? Who knows. I understand they didn't want players farming the old stuff and have the new powers the moment this stuff went live, but this stuff is a bit silly. And 100 million ? Wow yea I have it, but even for me it's a lot. I surely cannot do this on all my characters. I could do it on maybe 1 or 2 even 3, but that is it. It would take me some time or a bit of luck to get it for anymore of my toons slotted with these powers.

It is as if they are assuming everyone is farming and can do this without even a thought.

I might not be getting my point across very well. But I hope I am making some sense. I am much better at public speaker then I am at writing.
Well I dont feel sorry for them, they had just as much of an opportunity during the free preview on the beta server. They could have checked the trial out so they would not goin in just blind like that. This is why you always do or research the new stuff once it comes out so you are not totally clueless when it hits live servers.
  17. For those who were able to get above the uncommon on a mastermind do you have the attacks in your build or are you built mostly to support your pets and team? I think that might be the issue here. I have never gotten anything good on my mastermind and he does not have any of the crappy attacks. My guess in all of this if your active with the crappy attacks you might get more stuff. Well I refuse to respec into something that isnt going to truely help me like having all the other support abilities will.

I pay to play not stand around doing nothing.
Well thats mostly an issue due to the horrid queue system we have thats not good at making the trial work nicely. The thing is as a player you should be using the star ranking system on the add note feature that lets you know how to avoid or look out for but on a global level.

However, some of my friends are quite annoyed with this issue because they feel that they are now "forced" to join a PUG team. Our normal team-size is about 4-6 every night and sometimes we get a full team.

He REALLY hates teaming with he doesn't know. I can't explain what happened because I met him through a PUG team two years ago. These friends have played this game for years and most of them have played this game since beta.

Now before you get angry and start trashing my friend, let me give you his side of view:

    1. He has more than 20-30 level 50s. Some he doesn't like that much and some he REALLY likes them. He has two active accounts. He even hired artists to draw cartoon characters based on his toon and costume design. He is THAT into this game for 6-7 years.

    2. He likes to team but only with people he knows. We all belong to the same chat that we use every night.

    3. He likes challenges. He doesn't like the setting too low.

    4. Since i20, he used 40 shards, 5 Wells conversion (this means he used 5 weeks), 3 ITF runs, 1 new Hero SF 20-40 and two Villain SF 20-40 runs to try to get his first Judgment and he is STILL 6 shards away from getting just the FIRST tier power. I haven't converted much from Shard to Thread because I've been teaming in Pocket D (since I don't mind PUGing most of the time) but this conversion looks very sucky. Let's just say he wants to avoid all trials, it will take him 2.5 years to unlock something that those that do trials can unlock in days/weeks. I understand you can let soloers gain threads too easily or else nobody wants to join trials but I think the conversion needs to be better than what we have now. Disagree?

    5. We did a Lamba run with 4 other friends from the chat and we almost beat it with 8 people in Lamba. Only two people (including myself) have done Lamba before and know what is going on. I think we did REALLY well and I believe with some practice, we can beat Lamba with just 8 people. This is acceptable. But I am afraid BAF will be much harder with just 8 people especially during prison escapes. Now, are there any news that the future trials are going to have smaller-size trials? I actually prefer smaller-size and with added "Randomness" so each run doesn't feel exactly the same way. Random-ness can be some random events or random AVs that you need to beat.

    6. He wants to advance with some of his favorite characters but he just doesn't want to join big trial teams.

Well, I just want to voice his opinions here because he may quit soon and I am going to be sad as he plays a lot and he is one of my long-term game friend in this game. I've been trying very hard to talk him out of it but he can be so stubborn!!! I understand i20 doesn't take away anything he has enjoyed so far but he does want new Incarnate abilities. He just doesn't want to feel like he is forced to PUG with less than 8-12 people.

    What's your thoughts on this?
You need better friends, nuff said. Seriously the whole point of a game like this is to interact with one another, to be apart of something bigger than yourself. Besides after you do the trial long enough you will have played with most of the active lvl 50s on your server. So technically speaking since you know them it wouldnt be a pug now would it?

The queue is the horrible way of doing the trial. It starts with way too few to give an actual realistic chance of beating the trial. The devs seriously needs to up the minimum numbers on the queue before it becomes a viable way of starting a trial. Besides I wouldnt dare queue up on one of the dead servers as you will be waiting for a double xp weekend before you do a single trial.
  21. All I ever want out of this set is more teaming utility. Its nice for solo avs and such but how often do I do that? like almost never. I would trade all of that for some aoe debuffage. My first lvl 50 villain just isnt fun to play because on teams my ninjas get slaughtered. There just isnt enough aoe mitigation in this set.
  22. Definately say go with Earth anything but trick arrow. Simply because it takes too long to setup all those arrows to do what another powerset can do in only 1 power. As for as mind control goes I would not bother with it on a controller. Maybe on a dom since you get a damaging secondary that way. The real problem in the set is how sleeps are handled in this game and mass confuse being on way too long on a timer compared to say Seeds of Confusion. I know the whole because it causes no aggro bit but thats kind of pointless if the mobs are confused anyways. There is no reason why mass confuse couldnt be an every spawn power like the way seeds of confusion is.

It benefits you until your powers have refreshed in your tray, but not by the server's time, so, you click on buttons that do nothing at the moment, or, you move so far that the servers say, "I really don't think so, so, I'm moving you back *here*" and you rubberband.
Well I am kind of counting on it to help players. It seems like the only time any real pressing issues around that get fixed are the ones that benefit players. So in a sense if this gets exploited they will have to address it sooner rather than say 5 years from now. Its sad that we still have insane lag in the ITF and crazy missing map parts on the last mission of the LGTF, oh but let there be an exploit that gets fixed the same day.
  24. Also get rid of the bug where the hostage refuses to move if a psuedo pet is still out. I know if npc caltrops or the npc decoy phantasm is spawned the hostage refuses to do anything else until those entities despawn. For the first one its a problem on Knvies of Artimis missions because the freaking sea of caltrops will kill the hostage but wont kill the player. To be honest I can not even think of a time when any player I know has ever died to caltrops. Its just annoying as hell.
  25. Couple questions, why are you using a defense debuff set or slotting for defense debuffing at all? The amount we get per attack is pitiful and it does not last long. Its better to go with damage sets. I can get that you might want some set bonuses but thats going to cost you more endurance in the long run since your using more attacks because your damage is lower. So in short any recovery gains pretty much get negated.

For the chance of knockdown proc, it works nice with caltrops when you can set it up with other procs for damage. It especially works well with even con and higher mobs since they just fall down right back into the patch. If you level shift however all it does is scatter the mobs. The level shift was the reason I respec out of this enhancement.

Kujin Rin needs two recharges no ifs and or butts about it, if you exemplar down the power will no longer be perma since you wont have the set bonuses to make up for the slotting. Better to have it and not needed it than to need it and not have it. Also if you get debuffed it wont be perma either.

Why are you taking a hold on a stalker? Its useless 99% of the time, the only time I would ever see a need for it is the LGTF and to be honest the team should have gotten a dom or troller and not rely on everyone else's subpar holds. If non-control archtypes got better durations on controls I could see doing this but stalkers do not get much out of controls unless its confuse or fear.
